I understand the argument about wanting to fly during a rez, and I think they should put it back in.
But I can also count on one finger how many times I died in a funny spot and had to eat a spirit rez. If it were happening over and over I would pick up a pitchfork. But I'm not about to shit a brick over it because it happened all of one time.

You're fortunate then. If you do the Cloud Serpent dailies (assuming they haven't fixed it yet), you have to do it pretty much any time you die whilst doing dailies on that part of the Jade Forest. Even if I hadn't already had to do it a handful of times, it's just a needlessly regressive policy to introduce convenience and then arbitrarily remove it.
heh... A guildie just got booted from an LFR by saying "So the strat for LFR is standing in the purple stuff right?".... LOL. People are getting testy.
Wow, that's a lot of points (750 Valor/Conquest for 4 ilvls, can use twice/item; 1500 Justice/Honor for 8 ilvls, can use once/item).
I suppose it needs to be, though. There has to be a choice between upgrading or replacing. Also, the price needs to be high enough to not be an automatic decision for each piece.
Can you upgrade raid gear with valor? MMO Champ has a pic of one, but I thought it was limited only to valor and other point systems gear. If you can do so ilvl jumps between tiers could be pretty large. Has anyone tried it on the PTR?
My raid group killed Garalon tonight a few milliseconds before he hit the ground with massive crush. It took us a second to register we'd killed it because we literally killed the leg just before he hit the ground. Crazy kill.
If no one has looked it up on ptr.wowhead yet, the new Krasarang Wilds PvP content is ... interesting.
Basically, the main way to gain faction rep is to kill opposing faction NPC's and PC's, both of which will flag you for PVP, and then loot the bodies for 'commendations' which are turned in at a vendor. BG's are awarding rep as well.
The rep rewards have 'revered' requirements with other reps (Klaxxi, August Celstials, etc.) on top of the tier requirements with your PVP faction; they lack PvP stats, so there's that too.
That's a negative, Pablo Rider, the pattern is full.

I'd expect that to get changed prior to or hotfixed post-release - if people have to flag themselves to do those dailies on PvE realms, that'll go over like a lead balloon. Pretty much ensures that only the dominant faction participates.

One is too many, since this type of shit isn't a bug; it's intentional. They intentionally put a graveyard in the middle of an ocean, surrounded by sheer, unscalable cliffs, unable to fly. It's not that it doesn't happen often, it's that it was put in on purpose, when there is absolutely no intelligent reason to do so.
You do realize there's a ramp back up to the serpent area from the ocean, right? It's to the south of the serpent area, follow the cliff and you'll eventually find it. Is there another spot somewhere in that area I don't know of where you can die and get stuck? The only area I've died and not been able to reach my corpse is the Arch area in Vale and if you're on a PvE server that's probably not going to happen to you.
I think the benefits of the authenticator speak for themselves. You see all the people that get hacked without an authenticator. Anyone with half a brain would realize that $6.50 for a Security FOB has to be cost or very close to it. If they wanted to price gouge they would have asked like $20.
They want people to PVP to get PVE stuff? I thought crossing the streams was bad?
There have been many bad decisions with this launch. One more couldn't possibly do much more to polarize the reactions of the playerbase .... right?
Reading up on the quests, there seem to be some one-time lead-up quests that reward in the range of 150 rep; dailies are the main focus again, look to be about the same rep gains for the dailies. And in continuing with the daily tradition so far, they award 5 VP per quest in addition to 2 Lesser Charms of Good Fortune.
I wonder what the extra lesser charms are gonna be currency for ... assuming the mentality of hardcore raider, it takes 18 dailies per week to get your 3 greater charms. To fill those slots where RNG is a cruel mistress, knocking out those dailies for rep and valor cap, they're still gonna be left over with at least an extra hundred lesser charms per week.

Naw, I'll bet Blizzard is expecting CRZ to fix it. :P

I'm tempted to drop one of my profs to learn tailoring so I can then make those exalted AC bags. I have like 80+ SoH and all.
Also for anyone on the PTR: Can you upgrade trinkets with VP? I hope you can.

I am capped out on my warlock with the greater charms and I am a few points short of doing the LFR so it would be nice if I could use them in the bling bot or something
I've seen several good ideas and some honest thought put into uses for the Lesser Tokens once they start to stack up. Using them like spare Justice and Valor for trade goods seems to be the most equitable. But, if they could be swapped for Motes/Spirits of Harmony? Yes, please, I would do dailies till my eyes bled. I never seem to have enough to knock out the crafting I want to do.
When they are referring to moving lesser charms to currency, they just mean moving to the currency tab. Blizzard's current line of thought is that as people play on, they are going to do less dailies. As such the glut that players are getting now will act as a reserve to be used up later on in the expac when Joe Raider is exalted with everybody and only doing dailies to get achievements and/or ironpaw tokens.
Nobody, I agree, but I still think that with the new PvP rep per faction, many people are still going to have more than they could reasonably turn in even by the end of the expansion.
It's possible that they'll carry the system over to 6.0 too.
A more likely possibility is that they'll inflate the number of lesser charms needed to turn in.

The whole charms thing just makes very little sense to me when you consider that they did away with all separate flavors of badges (justice, conquest, frost, etc) specifically in an effort to -reduce- the amount/types of currency in the system, yet here we are again with charms. Again, one step forward, one back.
Really bizarre design decisions over the past few years.
They didn't do away with separate flavors of badges, they did away with different flavors of badges per tier. Before they were creating a new badge each tier, now they just shift everything. The charms don't really contradict that goal since they're a constant.
Opty on

Sorry, to clarify: they did away with the various types of badges in favor of moving to a two tier system, thereby turning all previous badges into JP. The charms are yet another type of currency that they are now adding to an already cluttered currency window. It's not a game-breaker, but the logic is counter to that of their stated objective.
On another note, I'm surprised at how long 5.1's been on the PTR at this point. I thought for sure we'd see it this week but at this rate we might not even see it until the 27th, which would be quite a while on the test realms for a minor content patch.
Had one of those weird weekend mornings where everything just broke my way. Couple of heroic drops, hit honored at the right places, spent some JP/VP, and suddenly I'm LFR functional. First 3 of mogu was faceroll but fun (as I'd expect). Spirit Kings really seems to put a damper on the roll du face, though. Probably just a couple of bad Sunday morning pugs, but I joined a number of attempts over 3 or 4 raids who just couldn't understand the kings' abilities. It was pretty frustrating and really just broke down into backbiting and bitching. I'm curious to try it again tonight before reset.
The real upside is I'm beginning to feel a little bit better about dailies now that my iLVL is a little higher. Killing those mogu and whatnot feels slightly less agonizingly slow with a little more throughput. Naturally, as soon as I'm happy with the kill speed, I won't need to do dailies any more. =P
Am I missing something? It doesn't feel like Heroics even reward many and I constantly have more VP than JP.
If I wanted to farm JP at 90 what would be the most effecient route? Just spam select Scenarios instead of doing them as a random? Just suck it up with LFD?
They should make dailies reward JP instead of VP after the weekly VP cap.

That would be nice. For those of us who haven't already amassed months if not years of JP bought heirlooms, it's utterly daunting to think about building a new set now, much less use JP for more current stuff I want.
Speaking of everything going your way, my camping of Scritch's spawn point paid off big-time yesterday. I killed him twice Sunday morning (a day when I really don't expect to see any sign of him but corpses) and got two Peace Pipes. That brings my total up to six.

Man, you are lucky. I have killed many of these rares plenty of times (Karr the Darkener the most, I'm up to ten times on him now as of yesterday) and I've yet to see -one- special item drop from any of them. It's really quite annoying.
Those peace pipes go for a pretty penny too, congrats.
Turns out that one of the proposed solutions on this thread was already planned and is currently being worked on by our dev team, they intend to implement a functionality that will convert excessive Valor Points into Justice Points in the near future.
Unfortunately this change won’t make it in time for the 5.1 patch but will be added with a future patch.
You don't know if I am joking or not.

I swear I am going to murder whoever designed these rare treasure objects. Pandaren Fishing Spear is up, which is great because it's never up since it's out in the freaking open and easy to spot. I click it, nothing. No loot, object disappears. Second god damn time this has happened to me now. Last time Blizzard restored the item to me, so they BETTER do it again. Because this is pissing me off.
A question about this fancy loot system that's going on in LFR now. Can anything potentially drop, regardless of spec? Like, can tanking plate drop off any of my rolls if I'm in a DPS spec, or do I have to actively be in a tank spec to see tank loot?

I really hope you can't upgrade pve gear with conquest points, don't want to do pvp to upgrade my character in pve -.-
