Things I learned tonight:
Don't try to play mr. Lance leader while in a scout mech.
Things get super frustrating and then you start swearing over the mic a lot and begin referring to your team as assholes.
And that the UAC/5 is pretty damn good when it works. When it doesn't its about 5 seconds of scrambling away from the fight while I play an improvised QTE.
Free shit! Why not! I have a "not me" Facebook account for precisely these sorts of things. I don't really want that bobblehead but there's zero downside.
edit: these are totally going to be MWO hats, aren't they?
I tried clicking on the link, didn't get a code or anything.
You have to go to the Facebook page and "like" it, then it'll ask for all your vital information, then you'll get a code which you plug into the original link.
I just ran a match with it, and it does not seem to bobble at all. I was at least expecting some serious jiggle physics wing movement.
I want free stuff even if I don't use it. But I also don't want to break my promise to myself to never "like" any company or product on the facebook. To sell out or not to sell out...
The firing delay from the shutter doors seems like it'd kinda kill it.
I didn't even know that was something that other mechs didn't have to worry about. Use them enough and you don't have to worry about it, I guess. I can hit targets within the max eff. range more often than not as long as I lead them.
Gonna be honest, the only reason I use primarily lasers and LRMs is that I can't get used to the firing delay on unguided munitions. Leading such weapons just feels really off and I can't get into it. Being a big fan of the big guns, this really puts a damper on my enthusiasm while playing.
Also the fixed delay for missile covers is fucking stupid.

It just takes some getting used to. My Centy SRM game stepped up a shit tonne the other night when I started factoring in both enemy movement, my mech movement and torso twisting. Pity my build only uses a single SRM4 atm... If I had a bit more money I might stick an XL in it and switch up to dual SRM6s.

The ultimate goal of any Centurion is to use an XL250 to fly up the asshole of any enemy heavy or assault mech and replace his colon with SRM6s.
You can undo the "like" after you've gotten the goods.
Just to clarify on this one, once you like it they farm all the personally identifying info off your page and add it to their marketing lists. You can unlike, but they'll usually crawl your facebook page as soon as you "like," so it doesn't really protect your info.
How do streaks work in game? Do they require a lock to fire like LRMs? Or do they just seek, or what?
They won't fire unless you lock.
Right now, when they do fire they hit center torso. Apparently that's not working as intended and they're supposed to be able to hit different parts of the target.
So, the Streak cat that mounts 6 of the things is particularly nasty since that's 12 SRMs a volley hitting your center torso. Kind of like an AC/20 that can't miss.
There's also a bug that causes them to ignore which way your launchers are pointed and launch straight at the target if you fire them while jumping, and apparently it causes them to hit the head sometimes.
That's apparently why streak Cats are hopping all the time.
Whomever was running the LRM boat last night. They had an awesome kill on a jumping Catapult. It was at its apex, got nailed in the face with a volley of LRMs and came crashing down like a meteor.
PA'ers, we should get some scrims going. I'm with House Marik of the Free Worlds Military League (MWLM) and we've been rocking it lately. With the new blood on the battlefield, we're seeing a great number of new recruits. It helps we have some target practice too
So apparently one of the guys in my gaming group is in a team. 1st Rasalhague Dragonregimentë.
Apparently they're making dossiers of all the other teams out there. They don't have one on us yet. He starts trying to pump me for intel.
I don't really know what else to say about that.
We like to go heavy on LRM boats and Gauss Cats. The standard Atlas is called the 'Ripper' and packs 3 LRM 15s. We prefer honorable 1 on 1 duels over group fighting.

Define "pump me for intel."
This guy's desperate.
Like....
Okay it started off just him asking me what the name of my group was. When I told him, he replied "we don't have a dossier on you guys yet"
Then he goes into depth about his unit, how they're FRR aligned and their strengths and all that.
Then he starts asking me about us. What's our unit strength, do we have a lot of Founders, do we use C3 or TS (heh), what times are we usually deployed, do we have any common builds.
This was all over text so I just pretended I got busy and didn't answer.

He's weird like that, though. He's a cosplayer.
I was making a handjob joke.
Tell him we run 8 Atlases with XL100s for the challenge.

In the AS7-D :
Gauss cannon, 3 tons ammo
2xSRM6, 3 tons ammo
2xML or LL
AMS, 1 ton ammo
STD300 engine
reads as 21 heat sinks on the stats page
In the D-DC :
Gauss cannon, 3 tons ammo
3xSRM6, 3 tons ammo,
2xML
AMS, 1 ton ammo
Went with 335 engine to hit a whopping 54kph
reads as 20 heat sinks on stats
I went with the endo-steel to get a couple more tons to play with but run out of critical slots.
scouts discovering stuff and discussion in ventrilo about piloting modules
Was thinking about a discussion we had in vent last night. I was going for the capture module since that will be useful in all my mechs. But the target info module will probably be really useful for scouts. Able to gain target loadout that much quicker and then be able to prioritize targets. Think I need to rent a child to play during the day. Going to be hard to gain all the <GM>XP I require to match my instant satisfaction needs.

Really though, this is all just fun and games until we can all grab fleas and just swarm people to death.

Be warned the 'bobblehead' is not a bobblehead at all and it kind of just 'floats' there but you know, free is free.

BAM that'll be like a 100% increase in your effectiveness right there.
Yup, I just unliked it and uninstalled their app. Problem solved.

as in what pre-defined lists of types of 'mechs go into what types of lances for us.
Googling "Oosik Irregulars" pretty much leads you to all the intel you need (i.e. these threads).
