Game of thrones: the board game, Dominion, Catan and anything else that involves small piece's, a large amount of shouting at people and/or rule nitpicking...
also more than willing to play Twilight Imperium... so long as "pew, pew" sound effects are not frowned upon...
If we are embarrassing ourselves with games, maybe I should dig out the original Star Wars CCG where saying "the force is with you!" at the end of your turn was an official rule.
Surely if it's agreed upon in advance (players, board layout, race) and then the "seating" is assigned randomly it wouldn't take THAT long also it you gotsta fill in that 76 hours with something!
Yeah, you will always be sacrificing something awesome to do something else that's equally or more awesome. Resign yourself to it early, and keep in mind there will hopefully always be another PAX.
That is kind of the plan. Talking with Khoo the strategy of PAX is to have too many things to do that you'll never be able to do them all, rather than have few things that you'll be able to do in a day but then be bored for the rest of the time and not come back next year. Just as a guide, this year was my 5th PAX Prime and the first time I saw a concert ever. I've still never checked a game out of the Tabletop Library and sat down in TT for a game. Although I have sat down and played 2 tabletop games with Steve Jackson himself (Munchkin in 2008 and Cthulhu Dice in 2010) so I guess you could say I've done TT.
Not entirely sure what normally goes in a PAX, nor that this is the entirely right thread to post it in, but can we bring like all the merchandise over? For me specifically it would be Valve, but ideally it would be all the branded goods that we normally have to fork out for postage to ship over here.
Although if it's strictly games games games then that's cool too and I'm looking forward to it regardless :P
GoT will probably require 90% of the time that TI3 does.
Perhaps we should organize a pre-pax boardgame session!?
In my experience, GoT takes approximately half as long as most reviews say it does. Usually about 3 hours.
We should definitely organise a pre-pax boardgame session. Also post-pax, and during-pax boardgame sessions. This was organised at Pax Prime the one time I went, and there were loads of people playing games in the lobby and bar of the Hilton. It was awesome, so we should definitely do it. My friends and I were waiting for something like this to come along before we organised our accommodation. Perhaps we need to organise it ourselves.
As for what I will bring/host at PAX as far as tabletop games - I'm hoping to road-trip down, and bring with me:
Sentinels of the Multiverse (with official playmat and all expansions - enough for up to 4 simultaneous 4 player games)
Race for the Galaxy (at time of writing, core set and Gathering Storm)
Small World and all expansions (not Underground)
Cthulhu dice
Zombie Dice
Fluxx (have original and Star Fluxx)
Others I could bring if people wanted to play them:
Betrayal at House on the Hill
Space Alert (requires a CD player or some speakers I can plug my ipad in to)
Twilight Struggle
Arkham Horror
Warcraft 3 the boardgame and its expansion (haven't touched in ages)
Chrononauts (was cool when I was younger, haven't played in a long time)
I've got friends with:
Pandemic
Cthulhu Gloom
Small World Underground
Mansions of Madness
Game of Thrones
Galaxy Trucker
Ticket to Ride
Dixit
Settlers of Catan
Risk (original, eww)
Also have access to big box games:
Descent (1st ed, though may have upgraded by then), Axis and Allies, and Tide of Iron. Most of those are way too big/fragile to bring unless people are seriously into it.
I'd like to get some munchkin in and maybe if I have the time a table top rpg of something preferably old or new WOD or pathfinder....I'm tempted to bring my wh fantasy army but I dunno if there will be any opponents.
Numenera is supposed to be out in July, right? If my copy arrives in time I will bring it. Is anyone else salivating with anticipation for that one? :winky:
As my friend would say I am the epitome of a casual gamer, I'll play anything for as long as it holds my interest, so I hope that there will be lots of new and interesting games, and of course some old NES games thrown into the mix, along with a d&d session or 2 as I have always wanted to have a go at that.

Hoping for a classic gaming room too

Game of Thrones... ehhh... the boardgame suffers quite horribly from pre determinism. Few and far between things can alter it.
In addition to Ax0r's list, I can probably bring along (with exception of #1 and #2 - 'big box', 4hr+ games):
Walking Dead
Powergrid
Formula D.
Shogun.
REX.
Starcraft the Board Game
Battlestar Galactica
Android
Some others that have already been mentioned. I don't care much for previews of stuff, so a lot of PAX time will be boardgames. Woo!
