With glowing recommendations like that Bloodlines is going on ye olde wishlist. Next time it is on sale I will move it to the top of the list and see what all the fuss is about. Thanks for enabling me, Steam thread!
Yeah, it's got a good chance of hitting $5 again in the coming sales. It's completely worth prioritizing. Those other games on your backlog are for chumps, time to soar with the greats.
It's always surprising that there are still people around here who haven't experienced or at least had the game forced on them thanks to all the times it's been on crazy sale and the cool people here who have made mortal enemies of stop signs
What about the game's infamous reputation as being a good bit broken? Like, fan patches required, and whatnot?
For what it's worth, I bought it a while back and played it straight out of the digital box and encountered no problems. Didn't have to download the fan patch or anything.

A while back, @Antecantelope gifted me To The Moon and insisted that I feel all the feels. I finally got to it today - and he's right. Everyone must feel all the feels. The game is a mystery wrapped in humour, love, tragedy, and a tale of social conditions that really hits home in a lot of ways. Brilliantly done. I can't even find the proper words right now to tip my hat to the devs.
Vampire was pretty broken straight out, but the still-being-updated-even-now fanpatch is the balm of Gilead and is easy to install, as well. It's basically mandatory.
Fixed the mess up on Steamgifts...mods apparently do not do their homework nor care to, so some fellow PA buds helped me out to clean up the mess. Going to restart this!
Get to it!

First time through the game, I needed the official 1.2 patch to get around the Society of Leopold crash to desktop bug, but otherwise I had no problems.
I think the Steam Christmas sale I'll probably have to somewhat bypass. Shopping for my Secret Santa, wife and son along with making sure I'm on the road and paying bills will be a bit much already. I'll probably make sure I have $20ish available in the Steam wallet and call it a day - pick up a few more smaller, indie games. I've already got a pretty hefty backlog anyways.
I should really save up for a better monitor too...my $10 yardsale find is nice, but I'd like something widescreen. That way I can hook up my TV and clone the display without having to futz around with resolutions to play on the bigger screen occasionally.

I was actually really enjoying Deadlight.
Until the part where you get kidnapped by a crazy hobo rat man who wants to reenact SAW in his giant underground boobytrapped hobo death maze complex.
Who in the unholy fuck decided the game needed a left turn like that?
Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty

I think I'm towards the end of that section and I'm completely stumped. There are two switches to hit and a platform that doesn't drop down at all. Can't tell if its glitched or if I'm just reading the situation badly. I'm really loving the game but these moments are frustratingly brutal.
Ok gifts are sent; just realized I can do it entirely through the web.

Alright guys, here is your last reminder for my giveaway. Closes tomorrow morning!
Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!

As an owner of this game from when it came out, it is a blast. It didn't have enough content to justify the full price I paid, but it was more than enough for a $30 price point, IMO. A good trading system with nice automation features. You can build up some serious production facilities and make a thriving economic empire. Easier to play than Patrician 4 and Port Royale 3, although those have more depth and content.
Congratulations @RoyceSraphim, you won my Wizorb giveaway. Enjoy breaking stuff!
And for this week's giveaway, if anyone still doesn't have Just Cause 2, here's your chance, since I got an extra key from the Great SqueEnix Amazon Sale.
And if anyone's wondering, I like to run these for a week because it gives lots of opportunity for people to enter, and it's easy for me to manage.
So, Tomb Raider Anniversary question: How do you lock onto things with the grappling hook? Totally lost.
From what I've seen, most objects don't show up as lockable, but it will automatically grab them if you are facing toward them. The wall hooks show up as a blue icon when you are facing the correct way in your "pre-jump". For instance, facing behind you while hanging from the side of a ledge. Just hit the grapple button after you jump and again, it will lock on automatically.

Can I only hook when jumping? The Icon is showing up.
So @lord_snot was all like, do you like fish sticks, wait no... I mean twin sticks? I cautiously agreed and BAM! Really Big Sky up in my face. I plan on making those sticks sore.

Really Big Sky is amazing, you're in for a lot of fun!
Ok all, I'm drawing a blank.
There is an indie game on Steam I'm trying to show someone but I can't recall the name,
I don't know much about it except it's a side view and looks a bit like Terraria in space. Not Starforge. The demo I saw was a guy landing on a planet and using some blow torch to slowly melt through the surface, and he built a few bots or some such for defense, and a few structures as a base. At some point he was trying to launch a rocket back into space and it kept getting blown up.
The only other tidbit I know is the game sort of vanished for a while, or people thought it was dead, and it sort of reemerged recently, and that made people excited.
The title was two words.
Sword of the Stars took on a new level of Squeeeeee! when I realized I could see the people on the bridge of my terran vessels. A pity I suck and I send them all to their deaths. Except when I upgraded lighting guns and sent them against the swarm that was blocking a critical route.

Correct, you can't actually hook until you jump. But you can hook hookable objects while standing on the ground, but not the wall mounts.

...is this as awesome as it looks? Because it reminds me of AvP except instead of sissy Aliens you have motherfucking Carnotaurs.

I dont think we'll need one when the Christmas sale comes around, instead of gift someone something it tends to be gift everyone everything!
