I don't normally bitch about people getting games early, mostly because I totally would if I'd found a vendor around me in MD to do it.
But the notion that they're not wiping any stats tonight, along with the fact that you don't get ghost until level 50something...for the first time, I feel like I may actually be at some kind of disadvantage for midnight launch.
Is your entire playtime limited to one hour or something?
It's going to take more than an hour to get to level 55. I think it's alright to be a bit pissed if I get into a game at 12:15am and I'm playing against people who already have a widely regarded must-have perk, because they've been playing the game for days.
But then they prestige first, and you're ahead!
(Unless they use their first unlock token on Ghost)
Probably a code to enter and receive the dub xp. The receipt from the store should have the codes on it. I'm going to have so many codes on my receipt. Quadrotor for my avatar, quadrotor dog tag, nuketown 2025, and dub xp this weekend.
Dub XP is dependent upon downloading Nuketown 2025. So, yeah, in a sense, there's a code to enter.

Yeah like I said, it's really not a big deal. Just kind of annoying.

In my opinion you're working from a faulty assumption. You seem to be assuming that Ghost is a requirement for any class and that there are no viable alternatives at lower levels. If someone gets to 55 but runs some other T1 perk are they at a disadvantage? In my experience you can get 95+% of your effectiveness within the first hour or two of unlocks. And if you can't then the problem is poor game balance with that perk.
If you're pissed because they're playing it and you aren't, an emotional but understandable argument. I'll even give you that map knowledge does take a bit to learn and does provide an advantage early. But claiming Ghost is the be-all and end-all of the game is a bit much.

Just remember that half the people you meet are below average intelligence.
I like when the enemy knows where I am. Then they come to me to die, and I don't have to chase them around.
noob. camper. etc.
Man, it's not that, I'm just lazy. I've run around entire maps without seeing a bad guy. I think that was largely the fault of other PA guys getting to them first though.
Heading off to the midnight launch in just a little bit.
Enjoy !
I'm waiting for my copy to arrive in the post, the lager is chilling in the fridge.
Let us know how the multiplayer is, if you play tonight.
Thanks, man. I'll be on tonight, for sure. In fact, I'm planning on being on until like, Wednesday night? Then I need to get some sleep, because I've committed myself to being a part of the 24-hour charity Livestream that a buddy of mine is hosting. So, yeah -- fucking tons of Call of Duty are about to drop on my head.
Did anyone pre-order through Amazon and has your order shipped yet?
I was just about to post in here complaining that they hadn't shipped yet.
Guess I'm not the only one.
Same here. This isn't 100% unusual; I've noticed a lot of times with games I don't get a shipping notice until the last minute, and it comes from some super-local facility and gets here next day. I really hope it gets here on time; I'm going away for the rest of the week Wednesday night and only bothered preordering to get in a few hours tomorrow night.
As much as I want to play I can't bring myself to head to GameStop for the midnight launch. So I'll play through Episode 2 of Spartan Ops tonight and pick it up tomorrow.
OK, so I'm looking at Black Ops 2 on steam and notice the season pass option. For $69.99.
It even says in the small print: Based on Season Pass suggested retail price of $49.99 and four DLC Map Packs at a suggested retail price of $14.99 each.
Fuck you steam, this is why no one in Australia buys shit from you.
Have to wait for my wife to get home before I can take off for the launch. I used the extra time to get myself all set up: the Hauppauge HD-PVR is good to go; I've got a brand new wireless 360 controller that doesn't list to the fucking left whenever I stop moving; dropped a few new batteries into the Turtle Beaches; etc. All I need now is a metric fuck-tonne of caffeine and some snacks, and I'll be good to go for the next ... man, I don't even really want to think about it. I'm tired already, and I haven't even started yet.
I have to brave our first snow storm to go get the game at midnight. And I instead of large amounts of caffeine I will imbibe alcohol. I should recharge my controller battery, but I do have a backup pack with fresh batteries so I won't have to quit when my battery dies.

But isn't the season pass all the dlc, pre-bought in a single package ?

Especially opinions on the netcode. I'd hate to have to tell myself "things will be better next time" ...again.
Amazon in the uk - status changed to shipped around 2pm.
Yay for patches.

I have better stuff to spend my money on then a wired controller, namely more videogames.
