Just finished this in time to get Halo 4, Thoughts on the ending:
Story wise it was ok, I mean the whole Juno thing was a little heavy handed with how evil she seemed all the way through the game, but it puts the series in an interesting place for them to pick it up down the line.
Connor-wise though it was le suck. The whol thing seemed to lack any kind of drama or tension, I was just chasing some dudes then being forced to walk reaaaaally slowly for way too long, then travel between a load of different places for no reason. The chase with Lee was also incredibly buggy with me getting stuck in the fire section floating in mid-air 4 or 5 times. Can't wait for AC5 but not sure about the inevitable AssBro type entries. I loved AssBro but I thought Ezio was a great character, much less convinced by Connor and where his character has left off.

Anyone have a tip for killing animals from the horse? Shooting them does not count.
I don't entirely know what I did to make it happen, but I had one combat move that just shocked me when it happened.
I was using bare hands. Grabbed a redcoat by the waist, spun him upside down, did a little jump and dropped him on his head.
It was amazing.

I just got this hilarious bug after I liberated a fort. All the redcoats are gone, like normal, and the Americans have moved in to the fort... except for one lone redcoat who is forever in a "hammering away on a building" animation. I loaded up into that area, he starts dutifully hammering away, and then the ENTIRE FORT just comes after him and kills the shit out of him and they all just saunter off all casual like. He didn't even raise a weapon, he just got murdered.

Reading this while eating crackers was not a good idea. Wet nasty crumbs EVERYWHERE!
that poor redcoat is there for me to, every time. I think he got left behind on Evacuation Day, but he is just so determined to come back to work every day
Man, AC: Lib is pretty impressive, but ever mini-game is balls. Pick pocketing, opening letters, holding the Vita to the light, the ball rolling game. So terrible.
The trophy for seeing a predator kill some prey in the wild must be bugged.
Because I've seen some shit out in those woods, and it has not popped.
The achieve is seeing a Predator kill an enemy, not a prey animal. So like a redcoat.

Once, I was waiting in a tree to ambush someone. Then this cougar flies in out of nowhere and straight up chews the guy's head off. It was pretty awesome.
P.S. - I killed the cougar. Because Circle of Life.

Which would make sense to why someone saw it pop when a patriot killed a redcoat. It's probably set to trigger on any redcoat or patriot death not caused by Connor or environmental (like falling).

Trading this in tomorrow towards Halo 4. It's a buggy mess as it stands and frankly just isn't as fun as even AssRev was for me. I'll pick it back up when it goes to $20. Maybe it'll actually be playable then. Naval battles are the tits, tho.
Is there any reward for collecting all the Almanac pages or feathers?
Also, where do you get the fancy pistol with two shots? Do I buy it or is it something that needs to be crafted?
Completing an almanac lets you craft an invention that shows up at the homestead (and counts towards collectable completion.) While getting all the feather nets you Connor's native clothes he wore in Sequences 4 and 5.
And if you're talking about the French Coat Pistol, it's a craftable, and I belive you find the recipe for it in a chest (no clue which one, assuming they aren't random) though there is a double-shot pistol that shows up in stores around sequence... 9? maybe 10. Somewhere around there.
Hah I can't take the french canadian characters seriously. They speak too much like people around me that keep that quebec accent when speaking in english.
They actually talk almost just like I do when I exagerate my accent on purpose.
Come on, the Merchant King has a really cool voice. Also, whenever someone makes an argument that free will is bad, and the cause of all our problems, I know it's wrong, but the part of me that wonders if it was a mistake to climb down from the trees, and if life is worth living, is disturbed. Just me, I know.
The Merchant king's rant about tolerance would probably have had more weight to it had he not chosen to slaughter everyone that attended his party, innocent dancing girls and servants included. Derp.
You can't rail about intolerance and kill everyone that disagrees with you. At least you can't and be taken seriously.
The most sympathetic is probably Garnier, since his patients really do seem to improve under his care. Maybe the slaver trader too. The others are pretty much about killing for lulz and power.
Well, maybe by sympathetic, I mean fun. The Templers aren't very good advocates for Templerism(the use of any mean nessacary to remove strife from the human heart, including the removal of freewill.), because they're all 12th century madmen. Sibrand actually seemed to have a geniuely well intentioned plan, stop reinforcements to the Holyland, though I'm not sure if that would have helped anything. That he was a paranoid lunatic is besides the point. Beside, he did get got. I'm more inclined to forgive their brutal tendincies than usually would because Altair murders every person he interogates. I think I need to finish the game, learn more about the POE's.
As an aside, this game is the biggest sausagefest ever. Understandable, but still.
Actually, did you get accesses to Vidic's computer yet? Make SURE you can before you start the last few sequences. Look through some emails on Lucy's computer to figure out what you need. It's an item that is missable and it unlocks some really awesome post game emails about the POEs.
Start of Sequence 6, Robert investigation for the funeral, haven't gotten into Vidic's computer yet, much as I'd like to. Last time Desmond was out of the Animus, Vidic was talking to some dude about me while I was on the table. You can actually enter a password? So it's not a gimme, eh? Crap. Can I reload earlier saves without losing my progress, and have the Vidic stuff for late in the game?
The item you're looking for can be found wandering around as Desmond, you get a prompt when you can take it.
You can in sequence 6. You know you can exit the Animus mid chapter right? Upon loading the game, pick the "exit Animus" option. Take a look around before getting back into the machine. I believe you also have one last chance to get the item in question, at the start of sequence 7. I would really advise looking into Lucy's computer again for what you need to get, re-read the emails if you have to. You really don't want to go past sequence 7 without this item because you'll have to replay the whole game from the start otherwise to get it. Unskippable cut-scenes and all.
I think I found it: I stole Vidics digipen while his back was turned, that's it right? Totally would have missed it if I didn't leave the animus mid-seission. I assume I'll get to use it after sequence 6, I hope. Thanks.
I think I asked this awhile ago but I don't remember seeing anyone respond. Anyway, do the Assassin recruits get any individual missions after you recruit them, like after they've leveled up or anything? I know you can talk to them right after recruiting them, but they seem to disappear after talking to them once or twice.

Beyond the SUPERSECRETRECRUITSCAMPAIGNSCREEN, no. Recruits have access to the same missions at the same time, assuming they haven't been completed already. Actually getting the recruits is way more fun than leveling them up and/or using them - as far as I know there's no reward for having a recruit beyond unlocking the recruit's special ability and another L2 cooldown.
Also, just finished the game, so ending thoughts:
I feel like I'm missing some sort of epic backstory because I didn't play the other AC games. So let me get this straight - Desmond chose to protect humanity in exchange for Juno being some sort of Templar-like behind-the-scenes god figure? What would have happened if he didn't touch the sphere? Then nearly all of humanity would be wiped out and people would somehow be "free" from Juno's influence. This somehow stops the endless cycle of...what, exactly? Is humanity somehow not going to be full of manipulative, power-hungry douchebags once Juno leaves? Doesn't that kind of defeat the overarching morality play that has been presented in the game thus far? Or should Desmond have chosen "freedom" because that would have allowed humanity to develop free from alien ghost influence, regardless of how they would have turned out?

I think that's the thing about the ending.
Really there is no right answer. Both options have their pros and cons.
That said I wish you would have actually been able to choose which option to take.
But I guess they've already got the setup for AC4.

Ah well that's too bad about the recruits. It would be nice to have a reason to use Covert Escort since it apparently doesn't work when trying to sneak into a fort (seriously what other use could it have?).
Just started sequence 8. Connor is so petulant and has quite temper too. He's like Altair, with slightly less assholery. Still trying to figure out if that's bad or hilarious. Especially when he gives people the evil side-eye whenever they touch him.
Something bothered me about Conner, as excited as I was for a Native American character. It took me a while to put my finger on it, then SLAP. It hit me. At times, and hopefully this won't forever taint him in anyone's eyes, but both his voice, acting, and cadence of speech remind me of Anakin from the second and third Star Wars prequels. I keep expecting him to pepper in "They are animals! And I slaughtered them like animals! I hate them!" into a speech about the Templars or red coats.
Whelp I caved and preordered the PC Deluxe edition since I would have spent $30 on the season pass anyway--tyrant Washington sold me on it--and this way it's included with a whole bunch of other content.
Plus snagged the Lost Archive for half off for ordering the deluxe. I don't mind the first person platforming that much plus I do love the crusader and ottoman doctor for how little I'll get to play them.
After completing the first modern day mission as Desmond, I'd really like a full game set in the present. Nuts to this Animus stuff, I wanna climb some skyscrapers!
On the liberation contracts is something meant to happen after you talk to the guy in the bar or is this another victim of the nothing happens when I try and start a side mission bug?

I wonder what they were thinking with the controls change. AC1-Rev were already very simple games to control. Do they think newcomers to the series are especially dumb or something? All AC3 did is strip down a nearly perfect system.
That, and the shit ton of technical issues are my only complaints in a pretty amazing game though. Like I said before, I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays on PC.
If anything, Mr. Adams, the control change are just an issue of slight streamlining and less tedium, not dumbing down. you don't have to hold two buttons to free-run now, but you can still jump whenever you like. In combat, you still have your block breaker like in other games (except now you can do more than just kick), and you have more options (being able to disarm when using something other than unarmed), etc. The parry/counter system also feels better and it's definitely more fluid and better looking, despite being basically the same, function wise.

Okay, so I get how convoys themselves work, and it looks like beaver pelts is the way to go. What about convoy protection missions? I got a popup in New York that I had 5+ minutes to defend a convoy. What? Where? How? Nothing popped up on my map.
