Something bothered me about Conner, as excited as I was for a Native American character. It took me a while to put my finger on it, then SLAP. It hit me. At times, and hopefully this won't forever taint him in anyone's eyes, but both his voice, acting, and cadence of speech remind me of Anakin from the second and third Star Wars prequels. I keep expecting him to pepper in "They are animals! And I slaughtered them like animals! I hate them!" into a speech about the Templars or red coats.
Oh My God guys.
Star Wars was a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, right?

I would accept this as a story twist if it means we get a Star Wars Assassins Creed game.

@Nightslyr - if you go into your Assassin's menu, there will be a notification (that I overlooked many times at first) in the bottom right that says "press Square/Blue to protect your convoy" or something similar. It will then let you select some assassin's to go and try to defend it.
I can't comment on pelts, I haven't really sold any raw materials like that because I was saying them to make stuff with. I usually sell barrels, crates, ship masts and a few other such goods. One thing important to note that I totally overlooked initially...when you make things, take barrels for example, they cost $25 to create at first, then they go up to 50, then 75, and up and up, eventually costing more to make than you'll get for selling. They go back down to $25 to create at some point, but I have no idea what controls that, if its time based or some other factor. Just something to be aware of.
Sequence eight I think. Fuck this mission. I want to punch something, or whoever designed it.
Chase Thomas Hickey.
That mission is hilariously easy if you know what to do.
When the cart rolls into the road, break left and go up the main road. You will stay within the 40m and you can cut him off at an alleyway when he tries to run back to the main road. Seriously. He always goes the same route.

Damn I didn't know you could send recruits to go help. I've always gone myself. If that message pops up, there will be an icon on the frontier, a shield I think. Go there and you can fight off some redcoats to protect the convoy.
Bear pelts seem to be the best deal if you have them, but I don't know that you can buy them from the Homestead. If they never show up there, beaver pelts are the next best one. I never craft anything to send on the convoy because pelts seem to be the biggest money maker.
Ok, I'm in sequence 9 and I have like one damn Artisian. How the hell do I get more folks at my Homestead? I've been opening chests and have a fuckton of recipes that I can't use, because I have no one at my damn Homestead!
While enjoying the game to the point of playing it almost non-stop I do have some major problems with the setup of some of the missions, Sequence 8 for example. The homestead missions are an exercise in frustration sometimes as well
what idiot designer thought the pig herding farm mission or the encyclopedia of the common man are fun things to do, it's a game, for relaxation and enjoyment. Okay it's fun to be challenged but being bored and frustrated is never good. How could they get these little things so wrong. Was someone just left alone to program those sections and it was never even looked over before being slotted into the finished product?

hmm... I lost my convoy and never got a notice it was being attacked.
that's useful information though.
“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
The convoy interface is so fucking annoying. Pick a convoy, pick a convoy space, scroll down to the pelts which are the only things worth selling, pick a merchant, for every single convoy space. Surely some kind of multiple selection process wouldn't have been too hard to implement?
I got a notification yesterday that I was in the top 10% for convoy profits, and I can see why nobody else would be bothering.

you probably got a notice, it was just too subtle to be taken in while doing anything else but waiting for notices to show up. now that i'm a few days into the game and used to the mechanics, it's one of the few things that still irk me. i've gotten to checking the logbook every couple of minutes when i have convoys going.
so, i've googled lots of guides, and it seems like you don't get the tailor or blacksmith until you're well into the game, like sequence 8 or 9. is crafting the only way to get better weapons than what's in the stores? i have the sawsword, and between that and the assassin axe, nothing in the store has comparable stats.
also, naval combat. good times! best addition to the AC franchise since recruiting assassins.

I stand by my assertion that if you aren't using the assassin tomahawk you're not assassining correctly.
I stand by my assertion that if you aren't using the assassin tomahawk you're not assassining correctly.
Are there other weapons? No.
No.
I have to agree, I guess. I kept trying to roll like I did in the previous iterations, with the double hidden blades, but everything took forever. Tomahawk seems to start the combos way faster, and they're more fun to watch as well. Combat roll into a 'hawk strike in the back? Yes, please.

Really? Fucking great. I think I've seen one Homestead mission pop up.
On the liberation contracts is something meant to happen after you talk to the guy in the bar or is this another victim of the nothing happens when I try and start a side mission bug?
This was also confusing for me at first. If the icon is just the liberation symbol without any shape around it the guy will just talk to you. Once you find and complete all 3 liberation missions in the district you'll get a popup message telling you that there's a liberation contract available. Now the icon that was just the liberation symbol will become the liberation symbol inside an hexagon.

I don't know for sure but this is what people have said from looking around on the internet. I don't know if you can miss out on getting people to come to the Homestead, but you may end up missing out on leveling them up. By sequence 9 I had already gotten
the lumberjacks, farmers, innkeeper, hunter, miner, and doctor. In sequence 9 you should be able to get the tailor, woodworker, smith, and priest. I think that is all of them up to that point, and I'm not sure what level I got them all to.
http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/06/assassins-creed-3-sells-3-5-million-in-first-week/ Assassin's Creed 3 has sold an estimated 3.5 million units, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced in the company's earnings release. Guillemot said these sales – specifying sell-through, meaning sales to consumers, not just to retailers – represent "a year-on-year increase of more than 100%."
We're quite certain that is a comparison to Revelations' sales, and not to Assassin's Creed 3 a year ago. AC3 sales are up infinity percent over AC3 sales last year.
So, who wants AC3-2.

BTW, the naval missions are much, much easier once you realize that you can just ram the crap out of anything that isn't as big as you are. So if the tiny ships think they're being cute by "flanking" you all in a bunch, just run them over and focus on slapping the ones that were able to get out of your way with some L2 cannon love.
Also, I love how my experience with sailing in Pirates! translated so well in this game, too.

So liberated some forts and people. 4000 pounds every 12 minutes? Yes please. Money issues are basically non-existent because of the convoy system. The next time I decide to do a naval mission I'll probably have a fully upgraded ship.
So I noticed in the guide there was something about "tokens" for using the assassin recruit abilities. Any idea what that's about?

Crafting:
When you are able to buy bear pelts from Myriam, those are by far the best return on investment. She starts skinning them well into the game, but when they do, buy them all and sell them via convoy. Make sure you unlock all the merchants, as some will pay much much more for certain items. There are two in Boston, three in New York, and one on the frontier. Also, when you get the naval convoys, make sure you clear the routes because they hold more space and can bring back well over 10k if you sell the right item.
Bandages are cheap to make, as are Fancy Clothes. Bandages regularly sell between 700 to 1200 for me, depending on merchant and season. Fancy Clothes sell for like 1200 and above if you send them overseas via naval convoy. You should alternate each "run" between the two, as they both use one of the same item and you can only get ten at a time. Fancy Wigs also sell well via naval convoy.
Alcohol also sells well early on, and is easy to make. Keep making barrels, but don't sell those by themselves. Fill them with booze. Spirits are more expensive, but they sell for more money.
And pelts usually sell very well to one fella in New York if you need cash quick.
Save your bear grease later in the game, that's how you make naval convoys. I finally got that recipe late game but had no grease, and the frontier was in winter mode, so all the bears were gone. I had to wait until the game progressed to spring.
Another thing to keep in mind is that those merchant multipliers for different merchants vary depending on what sequence you're in. They'll go up and down as you progress through the story.
Hey folks, couple random questions, hopefully people can answer. I'm in Sequence 6:
-How the heck do I upgrade my ship? Is there someone on my homestead I need to talk to, or what?
-All these homestead missions popping up. If I don't do them now, like in this sequence or whatever, are they lost for good?
-I haven't spent any more time in Desmond's world than I've absolutely needed to. Am I missing out on anything? Should I be exploring that cave or whatever? All I've pretty much done outside of the mission-based stuff is read emails...

And sell to the same merchant for every convoy. If you divide up shipments, the risk skyrockets. I sent a naval convoy full of pelts, but ran out with space left. So I filled the rest with fancy clothes. A different port merchant was offering a thousand more for the clothes, so I sent the clothes to him (on the same convoy). My risk skyrocketed from 10% to 85%. I lucked out and my convoy made it back safely, but yeah, send them to the same merchant every time.

Do you get a chance to defend the naval convoy like the land one? Or do you just lose it?
Morris strategy is, you want to go first (first player advantage), you want to take intersections first, sides second, corners last, in order of possible connections. If you can set up a double string to move between, you can quickly wipe out your opponent.

Major crafting doesn't really open up until late game, I'd say around sequence 8 or 9. Until you can craft Fancy Clothes or Bandages, just sell pelts. Buy them from your Stockpile from Myriam and send them out on your convoys. That's the easiest way early game to make money I've found.
