And sell to the same merchant for every convoy. If you divide up shipments, the risk skyrockets. I sent a naval convoy full of pelts, but ran out with space left. So I filled the rest with fancy clothes. A different port merchant was offering a thousand more for the clothes, so I sent the clothes to him (on the same convoy). My risk skyrocketed from 10% to 85%. I lucked out and my convoy made it back safely, but yeah, send them to the same merchant every time.
Do you get a chance to defend the naval convoy like the land one? Or do you just lose it?
I'm not sure. I lucked out and it returned safely. I would assume you can defend it like the convoy though.
Also this Encyclopedia of Man side mission has led to alot of creepy staring on my part with little success.
Oh and I had my first duplicate Achilles moment. He was standing back behind the house while simultaneously brushing a horse by the stable.
When he finished brushing the horse he went into his hunched leaning on his cane pose, except the cane was invisible so he just looked like he had terrible posture.

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/06/assassins-creed-3-sells-3-5-million-in-first-week/ Assassin's Creed 3 has sold an estimated 3.5 million units, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced in the company's earnings release. Guillemot said these sales – specifying sell-through, meaning sales to consumers, not just to retailers – represent "a year-on-year increase of more than 100%."
We're quite certain that is a comparison to Revelations' sales, and not to Assassin's Creed 3 a year ago. AC3 sales are up infinity percent over AC3 sales last year.
So, who wants AC3-2.
You say this as if it wasn't going to happen anyway. Hasn't every console title in the series sold 10+ million copies? Revelations might not have, but the first three certainly did. There is a reason they pump one of these out every year.
-I haven't spent any more time in Desmond's world than I've absolutely needed to. Am I missing out on anything? Should I be exploring that cave or whatever? All I've pretty much done outside of the mission-based stuff is read emails...
There's stuff to explore that will give you some infodump scenes, but there's plot items that designate how far in you can get. You can start poking around now if you want to, or you can save it for later. Doesn't really matter. You'll have to do it eventually, though.
Bah, Ninjas had their original roots in China, and Ubi has mentioned they want to stay away from that.
Revolutionary or Napoleonic France for AC3-2. World War I or Rome for the full game. I can see World War I being the end of the 'historical fiction' timeline of AC stories. Much further than that and you're in cliche WWII-CoD territory. WWI still had horses and melee combat and such.
Picture it, biplane to biplane leap of faith assassinations.
That will be interesting to try to sell a Civil War Assassin's Creed seeing as they put in one of The Truth files that John Wilkes Booth was an Assassin.
It totally fits the AC setting and matches the tyrannical steps Lincoln took at the time (Shelby Foote's Civil War trilogy was a great read for that), but making one of the most beloved U.S. Presidents the final villain of a game will be a tough sell in the states. Tyrant Washington selling well might be a good sign though.

The War of 1812 period would have the awesomest naval battles. If all they did was an expansion that revolved around the U.S. frigates during that period, it would be pretty badass.
I demand this naval expansion. Now.

Wonder if multiplayer naval combat will ever be a thing. Seems like it should be a thing.

This game is so fucking goddamned buggy. It would be an amazing game if it wasn't. This game either wasn't playtested or was playtested by a bunch of assholes.
My least favorite activity has to be chasing almanac pages. I can only imagine the conversation they had. "Hey guys, how can we make collecting memory glyphs and shit like that even more annoying? I know! Let's put feathers in nigh-unreachable locations and pages that inexplicably move around when the player approaches and if he doesn't magically catch it in 3 seconds it disappears. Sounds great, right guys?"
Prison, and sat down to play a game, but never played this one with the squares and dots before.
Anyone able to give me a quick tutorial?
Just place your piece on an empty dot whenever it is your turn. You don't actually have to finish the game, it's just a nifty little framing for a conversation.
Also, regarding the Desmond stuff (up to Sequence 9):
I've completed two Desmond missions. I must be missing something because I have no idea where I can go exploring in the temple. I haven't been able to figure out where to go. I've had one conversation with TOWCA. Am I missing some path?

So... are shop locations NOT supposed to show on maps? I hear about multiple shops in Boston, Frontier, etc., but all I see is that one lonely general store in Boston...

Er, I don't think this is so. Instead, it seems that Booth was killed by the Assassins. Which means he was either a Templar or a Templar pawn. And no, it doesn't match the AC setting for a slave holding Assassin to kill the Templar who freed the slaves. If you had to pick between a Templar being a slaveholder and an Assassin doing the same...

This seemed to confuse a lot of people. Don't feel bad. I personally had to look it up. If you google "Assassin's Creed John Wilkes Booth" most people seem to think that he is an assassin. But if you look at the Assassin's Creed wiki, you'll see that they list him as being murdered by the assassins.

Yeah, I did a double take on your comment because it just sounded profoundly wrong, so I had to do some research myself. Not because Lincoln was perfect or anything, but there's NO WAY a slave holding racist was an Assassin and slave freeing Lincoln is a Templar. That's bass ackwards of every theme of the series.

Musket skewer:
1. pick up musket.
2. find 2 dudes standing next to each other and line them up in front of you.
3. running assassinate the guy closest to you.
Equip tomahawk and pistol.
Attack big group of dudes.
Get a kill streak going.
Combo into pistol shot and hope someone else is stood near you.
Witness my favourite kill animation.
Does anyone know of a map online or anywhere that has the location of the Liberation missions? I have 2 left in NY North district and I have no idea where they are.
Edit: Never mind managed to stumble on all of them.

You've got to find them yourself. Like, actually look with your eyes for the "General Store" signs and then go inside them to get them added to your map.
Something bothered me about Conner, as excited as I was for a Native American character. It took me a while to put my finger on it, then SLAP. It hit me. At times, and hopefully this won't forever taint him in anyone's eyes, but both his voice, acting, and cadence of speech remind me of Anakin from the second and third Star Wars prequels. I keep expecting him to pepper in "They are animals! And I slaughtered them like animals! I hate them!" into a speech about the Templars or red coats.

Master and Commander the game - yes please.
You don't even really have to wait untill 1812; The First Barbary War started in 1801. (If you ever wondered where the "shores of Tripoli" line from that US Marine song came from, this is it.)
Actually, have the First Barbary war be a AC3/AC3-2 DLC (preeety sure the next AC game is going to be French Revolution.) Have the War of 1812 be the game after that, with the Second Barbary War as it's dlc.
With that, you pretty much cover every majorish naval engagment the United States ever got involved in until the American Civil War.
Man, has anyone else had a liberation contract icon on their map but nobody's there? It's in a bar and it seems like there should be someone at the table but the table is just empty.
Thank goodness I am here to stab all these apparently rabid raccoons running around at noon in Lexington. Also horseback hunting makes me really lazy. You can pretty much ride and stab anything before it can run.

Is it the north sector one? Cause that was the one I couldn't get my assassin recruit for a long time. Turned out the last liberation mission wasn't marked on the map with the symbol, just a random small red restricted area. So I kept going in trying to talk to my contact at the bar who had nothing to say.

There's a logbook on a table to the left of your ship's first mate. That's where you buy ship upgrades.
