Set up a Network with out even needing the internet.

My title might not even make sense, but hopely someone understands my problem and can help me with it.

This is My Scenario:

I'm a Musician and I recently bought a digital mixer that I can control every feature on it right on my iPad, if my network works as I want it. This short video will show exactly what I mean and somewhere in between is where my problem is.

Now, when I connect my iPad to the network I get this page immediately:

ScreenShotThink073.jpg

and when I click "Cancel" It kicks me out of the Network.

I have to be carrying the router with me on all my gigs everywhere I go with my band, so obviously, I'm not going to have internet anywhere I go, which I don't even need, as you see, I just need to be able to communicate with my computer wirelessly, but it has to be wifi, I can't use Bluetooth for this. I do not need any internet, and that's exactly the wall between my iPad and my computer, which is not having internet connection.

I seriously think that the problem is in my router ( D-Link DIR615 I1 ), I just bought it for this specific reason because I don't want to be carrying around my Home's router leaving my family without internet while I'm gone. The one at home connects with out a problem the only issue is that I cannot interchange them because my ISP is Comcast and this DLink that I just bought is not for cable DSL.

If Anyone can help me configure this router ( D-Link DIR615 I1 ) I would deeply appreciate it, I really need this to work, it makes my life so much easier when I can use this feature.

I am moving this to a forum designed for getting help.

The YouTube link has also been removed because, as a person that just signed up, I am wary of people just trying to weasel in a few free views. If you cannot describe your problem without the use of a video aid, then it's probably complicated to the point where strangers on the internet cannot aid you.

We know the iPad and the D-Link are communicating because the iPad displays the D-Link error page.

The next question is: are the mixer and the D-Link communicating? To answer that question, we need to know two pieces of information:

    1) What model of mixer is it?
    2) How do you expect to connect the D-Link to the mixer: wired Ethernet, or wi-fi?

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

Can you connect the mixer to a laptop, then using the laptop to create an ad-hoc network that the iPad connects to? Or do you need to connect more items to the network than just the Mixer and iPad? If the problem is just the router, removing it from the equation (if possible) would be the easiest fix

The mixer is connected via firewire to the computer. I've tried the adhoc option on my MacBook iOS 10.6 and for some reason when the ipad sees the mixer in the app displaying that it is visible within the network, when I press the "connect" botton, it just appears that is attemting to connect because the loading thingy keeps going and going and never stops. Thats why I bought this Dlink router, because I knew that it does work with home's router, I tried yo copy every setting to my knowledge from router to router and still the same.

Note: This is the way I've been doing it for the last year.

I have a desktop that I've been carrying around with me, in this desktop (XP) I created an adhoc network, and succesfully always I've been able to connect with no problem.
Now, I bougth this MacBook iOS 10.6 so I dont have to be carrying around my desktop everywhere I go. And now I have this problem.

Im very greatfull for all your comments. Please, if anyone has any idea of something else that I can try, please comment, I'd really appreciate it! Thank you.

Have you tried installing XP onto the macbook? It seems the problem started when you switched from PC to Mac, so going back to PC might fix it for you.

Or use the new Dlink that doesn't work with the mixer as your home router, and your current home router with the mixer since you know that does work

Baby steps help lots of network problems.

You have the router providing a wireless network.
Can the macbook connect to the router? Check by connecting to the wireless network then go to the routers web interface (usually http://192.168.1.1/) in your browser.
Can the ipad connect to the router? Check by connecting to the wireless network then go to the routers web interface (usually http://192.168.1.1/) in your browser.

If both of these things work you can move onto the next step of troubleshooting.

Maybe I have misunderstood the problem?

Every one thank you so much for your help, I ended up buying another wireless router, I found one for $15 at a yard sell, no funny setting just a WPA password and it works like a champ, Im pretty shure it was some manufacturer setting at the DLink router that kept poping up that page and kicking me out of the network. What do you guys think? Anyways, Thanku all for your help. I really appreciate your time.
