wow so what I really didn't need was to get 2 raxed in a tvt right now
it broke me, lost my mind. but somehow this dude was just awesome and told me what I should do, insisted against me being a little fucking baby. and eventually I calmed down (I 2 raxed because I hit a tvt next and met proxy marauder which I feel like 2 rax should beat but I managed to lose that too, and in a weird way it relaxed me)
and now I have a masters level tvt practice partner.
maybe I can learn SOMETHING about how to play it. I don't even understand what the issue is to be honest so I just need to play like 20 games against someone and see what it is that's happening.
it is ruining my ladder. I think I'm 50/50 or so in other matchups but I've literally not won a tvt. and all season til today they were just mid game losses. some really disheartening because I had a lead, some where I expected it or knew the exact mistake I made. then today I try to switch it up. I cc first and get hit with proxy maruader. I tech off 1 marine with a quick gas and I get 2 raxed. I try to 2 rax and I get proxy maraudered and manage to blow it. It's inconceivable that as a follow up to being this bad I could have this bad of luck.
thank god for Random Internet Person fighting through my complete asshole mode that I was in and talking to me until I calmed down and then being friendly and offering to help.
I'm fucking on edge. I gotta stop playing at night, middle of the night. It's so so so dumb... and then I get where I don't want to go to bed while I'm pissed so I keep wanting one more. that on top of being tired, it's just asking for issues.
so anyway, this is a rant but unlike most of my rants that I type in the heat of the moment, I don't have to erase this because of extreme negativity. so there you go.
I'm going to bed now. I'll probably be too tired to play tomorrow afternoon but if not I'll be back at it with a single build I'm doing it every tvt until it's fucking perfect. then I'll ad another for map flexibility. (thanks to @dhalphir for just saying, get back to basics. gotta do it, gotta do it)

Thinking of switching to zerg on my NA account, just because I hate TvT so very much.
I had a 48 minute game on NA recently, i eventually got so bored of the positioning play that I made 4 3/3 cattlebruisers and A move into his siege lines.
The BCs killed fucking everything, but I felt dirty for using them.

But from what I see most zergs seem to hate ZvZ so I guess mirror matches are just always shit?

I have no idea what you mean. You had gotten to the TvT late game that locks up in tank lines, so you made the standard transition to air, and you...feel like you did something bad? That is literally how the matchup works.
With the major exception of the big period when PvP was just 4gate, I've always really enjoyed the knife-edge style of play it requires.

I know all this guys, like I said I just really hate the matchup. Especially the ~10 min siege tank push, can be quite hard to hold off if the other player is 1 basing it.
Feels like if you're not on siege tech by that ten mins you'll lose and if you are then you know the game will stretch to a very long game.
I like playing T really dynamically, drops and running small teams of bio all over the map. That's why I want to give Zerg a try, they're much more counter attacky. :twisted:

These prices are pretty great. Big 5 bedroom dream house for under 600k - depending on the kind of jobs we found, that's an attainable dream.

I was just in Sweden. Compared to Hungarian, the language is a piece of cake since I could actually read signs there.
Then again, I don't blame Dhal for wanting to move to Canada. Someday I'll get there and stay long enough to get citizenship. That way I can finally stop feeling bad for lying to strangers when I tell them I'm Canadian.

i think that you end up seeing a lot of mirror matchups because most people who main a race will ban out the same maps, giving you a higher chance of hitting the same race.

Map bans don't factor into whom you play. You are matched up first, and then the map is chosen based off of maps bans of both players.

Dunno, for most people here american people we actually meet are generally cool, and politics are kinda funny until you realise about half the nation has views we find absurd.
And well, american pop culture is basically pop culture period, so I'd say most people like it.
To date, I don't think I've ever lied about being American throughout my travels. I joke about being other nationalities, but I don't really advertise my American-ness, it's usually pretty obvious once I open my mouth and speak. Imagine if Starcraft's culture had been birthed in the U.S.?

Currently there is gonna be a cooldown period in the beta so players can actually figure out a metagame. After a few weeks of figuring stuff out they will probably start on their plans to mess with the funky units like Void Rays.

Took Brood War about 5 years to figure it out.
Just waiting for WoL to figure it out.
(granted, goliaths helped clear up the wraiths afterwards, which made it a wee easier)
