As much as I'm hoping Stephano wins, I don't think it says anything about Koreans vs World.
The foreigners were getting their faces crushed (with the exception of Scarlett who almost held her own against Life) until this one guy comes out and wins everything. That doesn't say much.
Stephano is good, but he is one of the only foreigners to be this good, whereas I can think of probably 20 Koreans who could stand up to him easily, on average.
But on the other hand, the foreigners were getting their face crushed by one guy. So it doesn't say anything one way or the other.
So stephano going roach/hydra was not because his econ was destroyed, but a real choice? Weird.
I'd be curious to hear what he has to say about that.
Edit: I wonder if it was just exhaustion, if he was feeling really pressured, if he got cocky or overeager...
Roach/hydra hits faster than infestor, so if you want to punish compositions that don't have colossi (which Stephano knew because of the stargate commitment), then it's a reasonable thing to do. The downside is that since colossi are around the corner, you need to do damage with your aggression to justify the side-tech, and you are still subject to positioning/engagement problems with force fields.
In that particular case, Stephano couldn't break the third with his push, so he fell behind from that point on.

Sure, roach hydra hits sooner than infestor, but I don't see why you need to hit at all.
To mix it up and keep your opponent guessing, just like any other strategy you might employ in Starcraft.
Still don't see the need for it. There is literally no point in doing other than defend -> bl/infestor unless you have other goals besides simply winning

Hurr durr. And there's literally no point in doing anything other than immortal/sentry at 8:50 unless you have other goals besides simply winning. *eye roll*

You aren't in bronze, and you aren't release-era Idra. So as much as your BL/infestor hate is clouding your judgement, you should be smart enough to realize that varying your strategies to probe weaknesses in your opponent's play (e.g., the tech transition from gateway/immortal to gateway/colossi) is a large part of being a world-class player.

I understand why they don't want to say that, though.

I just assumed it was BM against MC, but seems he had some thought with it if he used it against squirtle as well.
no, he made tech. He made hydras. He could have just chosen infestors instead and been totally fine.
