Hi guys, I posted here a little while back about my computer and I still can't figure it out. Up until about a month ago it ran DVDs fine. It's windows xp, has a dvd drive, about 2 ghz, good video card, etc. I have no idea what made it stop working
Basically, when I try to play a DVD, I get error messages saying the DVD can't be played. I've tried over ten DVDs and none of them work. In windows media, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings." I've tried this, and it doesn't work
Have you tried other DVD software first? Try something like VLC or Media Player Classic. If you're getting errors through those programs as well, it's a much bigger problem. If they play the discs fine, then your computer is acting normally and WMP is being its usual, cryptic self.
