how do you play olaf in team fights?

and what on earth do people build on him in top lane?

Whatever you do, do not listen to Carnarvon about this or follow the fotm right now.

Take Ghost/Ignite (if you can kill their top laner) or Ghost/teleport (if it is going to be a heavy farm lane). Build tanky bruiser, something like FM/BT/Atmas/Randuins or maybe with a wriggles, or Maw, or Frozen Heart. You are guaranteed to do a disgusting amount of true damage, so try to maximize your cdr and survivability. Shurelyas does not do this for you, dont build it.

In team fights, get in as far as you can before popping your ult and ghost. Stick to their carry and proceed to melt them.

I knew I should have ran cleanse... poor Ziggs.

Had a rough ranked game mainly from Annie having her Ammumu live in my lane, so it was constant attempts on my life. Didn't change mid game either, I had a huge target on me. My build and play also got a little screwed because my team refused to give me blue all game. I only got it when I went and took it.

    So I carried harder:

my stinger wasn't ready for this

You ended up jungling Poppy, yes? You need to show them that they can't target ban you like that.

Nah, our first pick was Mao'kai, who ended up getting a delayed penta. I just picked Garen top and silenced Ahri every time she ulted into our team, to hilarious effect.

    Poppy jungle is legit though.

Silences are deadly to somebody who wants to dash in, then dash out with abilities. I hate soraka when I play riven. R, E, Q, damnit!!!!!!! Dead :(

Also, slight update on my end of the season push and support Nidalee in ranked:

So yeah. What did season two teach me? Play when the que isn't full of crap and you won't dig a ginormous hole. Also, elo is a crappy system.

Edit: Also, earning honor like a beast after being banned for having a 'negative attitude'. It's raining candy in the league.

After. I was banned for some passive aggression in two games with trolls and shoopdawhoop I was banned. I told everyone about it when someone mentioned Riot was cracking down. About the only thing they could find to ban me for now though is having too much fun. Winning non stop and throwing spells like a mad hatter as I get honor and elo.

It's not like Shurelya's has CDR, HP, a powerful speed boost, or build off the most powerful item in the game (Philo).

But really, all you have to do is get a Bloodthirster and stack as much health as you possibly can. Alternatively, Tabi, Philo, HoG, Wriggles, Phage, Hexdrinker, and then build out of there if you're having a less than stompy top lane.

    @Daris: Permaban or temp ban?

With Olaf you can get away with building multiple GP/5s and sitting on them for a long time without losing much of an edge.

The system works then if you adjusted your attitude. In general the statistics they released showed that first time offenders tended to shape up and not become repeat offenders.

I have to say I really am impressed with the tribunal system. It works pretty damned well.

Olaf is one of the best anti carries in the game. The answer is always go for their carries. Pop ghost, pop ult, run to AD carry, Q and E them until they stop living. As for items, I like to get him hella tanky, like warmog's, frozen mallet, maw of malmortius, FoN, Randuin's, Frozen Heart. Any of these items depending on the game.

    Ionic Spark – Removed

Ionic Spark is a bit of a confusing item right now. Ionic Spark only fully synergizes with one or two champions (Shen, Gangplank), but it's good to have an effective wave clearing option for characters that lack an innate ability to quickly deal with waves of minions. For a proc-build, Ionic Spark is awkward because it grants a very inconsistent proc that does some damage but is inferior to Wit's End in a lot of cases.

Alternative: Statikk Shiv, Tiamat, Wit's End

Tiamat has been vastly upgraded as a passive wave clearing item, while Wit's End has always been the traditionally stronger option for Attack Speed / On-hit builds.

It's just meki pendant though, not faerie charm. Very few early game builds have meki pendant in them (of course the philo does, but if philo is in, and keeping its mana regen, then it's probably only going to get easier to build)

You've got them the wrong way round. Meki pendant is the stronger version used in Chalice, Codex and Tear (which might explain the tear price drop) Faerie charm is the philo-stone builder (and nothing else, no those other two items don't exist because if they did I'm sure someone would have brought them unless they're broken and.... oh)

Incedently, Taimat Renekton is still my favourite Renekton. Mainly because it just feels so right to make his auto attacks cleave. Even if it is just a shitty BattleFury.

650 is a lot early on for Mid or jungle, and could go towards items that would help them beat their opponent. a mere 125 health is kind of weak in that situation for a mid. I wouldn't really consider it on a mid at all unless I needed to aggressively ward for some reason.

It's not like Shurelya's has CDR, HP, a powerful speed boost, or build off the most powerful item in the game (Philo).

Philo is actually one of the weaker item in the game. Its only valuable if you're in a sustain war where the other guy cannot pressure a win immediately and you want to build Shruelya's Reverie. This is because its strictly weaker than building other sustain items which scale into better defensive items later. For instance compare Philo to 2 dorans shields. For 130 more gold you get 20 armor and 240 HP. Compare to building a Chain Vest and turning that into Warden's mail. Compare to a single Regrowth Pendent, or two regrowth pendents for only 40 gold more you've got double the bonus HP/5.

This makes it effective for harass lane supports(Sona or vs Sona) and for junglers (who will need HP/MP sustain in order to come out of the jungle at full HP). It is suboptimal on tops UNLESS you get a big lead early and can use that level lead to bully AND want reverie. Otherwise, just like picking it up early against a hard engage bot lane you're going to get beat by the guy who has more "now" stats and decides to use them. Or the guy who doesn't waste money on GP/10 and insteads build raw sustain.
hrm yes clearly this makes any junglers that don't want attack speed obsolete, based on the lack of any actual numbers on it, one of which is guaranteed to be a total percent damage amp, on an item you don't actually have to buy
Sometimes these things are binary. If the item is strong enough to be useful on non-AS based champions its going to be murder on AS based champions since non-AS based champions and AS based champions get the same size of the % damage boost but the AS based champions also get the additional true damage more often. This is especially true for single target based AS champions since the jungle is being re-engineered to give the health/damage to the big creep.

I predict that Nunu is going to be redonkulous. AS based so he gets that true damage, and massive single target damage against creeps now engineered to have more health on the big enemy.
    Zyrxil wrote: »

Now that i think about it they were probably building poorly anyway.

    Tiamat: 2070 gold

    50 AD
    15 HP/5
    5 MP/5
    50% Splash on all attacks.

Over 4 attacks tiamat splahes for 200% physical damage. Which will be about 300 damage assuming 100 base AD)

    Ionic Spark: 2100 Gold

    +50% AS
    250 HP
+125 damage to 4 targets every 4 attacks.

Over 4 attacks Ionic spark splashes for 125 damage. Lets say they actually come 50% faster(they don't) so you get 4 attacks for every 3 from the tiamat.

Tiamat still clears waves twice as fast as the spark. The only thing that the spark has going for it is the bonus HP/AS for AS based champions, but tiamat probably still does more damage in team fights than the spark.

If she can stay out of his roar range she can negate his passive with impure shots and will be uncatchable with her passive and e.

If that's the Manamune upgrade's passive, AD Malz is going to love it.

Is AD Malz really a thing? I thought it was a joke build for messing around, like Reverse Support Hecarim.

AD Malz really is a thing but people he is rare.

That being said: The Manamune upgrade won't be that strong on AD malz because his minions aren't basic attacks and they aren't spells(they don't benefit from any on-hit effects), and most of his spells are AoE. So what you end up with is a bonus that only applies to his space aids(maybe) and his ultimate)

The Upgrade will however, be very strong on Ashe. She will have the easiest time charging a manamune of roughly any character in the game and all she does is auto attack. (Tear will reduce the effective mana cost on her frost shot by 50%, going from 8 mana/attack to 4 mana/attack)
