$160 for a 3dsxl is very tempting. If I can find one Sunday at Best Buy I think I'll go for it. How likely do you think they will sell out?

Very unlikely. When I bought my 3DS last night I saw probably at least 100 in the cage where they lock up systems.

Admittedly a good chunk of those were the Mario Kart 7 bundle, and I don't know if that's included in the sale.

Just bought the blue 3DS XL bundle at Best Buy with Mario Kart and the $20 giftcard! $180 + tax for the system and game seems pretty great. Can't wait to fire her up!

    I love demos!

Murder on the Titanic sounds like a murder mystery adventure game (which I love!!) but $8 might be a little expensive. I'll wait for reviews anyway since I'm only basing this on the title and know nothing about the game whatsoever.

So I have heard great great things about both Pushmo/Crashmo.

From you fine folks who have played both, which one should I purchase first?

For those tempted to answer, "BOTH, DUMMY", I already have a big backlog, and would feel guilty about buying both at the same time.

I'd start with Pushmo. It sounds like it's really hard to go back from Crashmo if you pick that one up first.

Just to add, I had the same question a few days ago and went with Pushmo. I am loving it. When I play I keep going til I get stumped. It has a seamless way of starting the next puzzle that makes you keep saying, "just one more".

Crashmo is apparently the hardest game ever made!

I don't even know if I want it. I watched the GiantBomb Quick Look and was completely blown away when they solved each puzzle. Like how in the world did it come together like that.

I kind of feel that way about Aero Porter. I don't like how you're supposed to play it, and I don't like the controls. I thought I wouldn't like it, and I normally don't like puzzle games, but I decided to get it anyway. I should have listened to my gut.

Yup. That happens. And then you'll spend an hour, frustrated out of your mind because you cannot figure this out. You'll put it down and pick it up the next day and solve it in five minutes. It happens.

Does anyone know anything at all about Lego Lord of the Rings 3DS? The internet has never reviewed it. There is like nothing about it anywhere online. I want to get it for my sister for Christmas and I probably will anyway, I just want to make sure it's cool.

Well the Vita one is hugely nerfed. Everything about it is gimped and simplified. So I would imagine the 3DS version ended up with the same mistreatment.

It's not so bad once you've actually played around with it yourself. The best part is the tutorial section--play through that when you're stuck on a regular puzzle and you'll figure out how to solve it. I actually think Crashmo is a bit easier than Pushmo, because the puzzles have less of a random factor to them. Also, you can turn back time with LB, which is super-helpful. I wish they'd patch that into Pushmo or something, because there's nothing worse than being 3/4ths of the way up a Pushmo and missing a jump.

Yeah, but I was looking for something along the lines of a full review, perhaps with shocking revelations.

"The console version has 30 levels that take an hour each but the 3DS one only has 10 levels that are 15 minutes each!"

"The console version has 100 characters from the series but the 3DS one only has 30 characters and most of them are the same person with different clothes!"

"There's a game breaking bug halfway through that renders the game unwinnable and will never be patched!"

    That sort of thing.

Ouch. And it mentions none of the features that I'm seeing in some of the console reviews, which are also getting decent scores. Looks like another case where we should just complete ignore the handheld versions?

To give you an idea of just how gimped the handheld ones are, here is the first level of the PC version:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a61bFXNgZMc
    Pretty awesome.

And here is the terrible first level on the handheld...
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5h8HqzwT3ok

Pretty much every part of the game is this different, from what I've seen.

I don't really understand why they did that. In the DS days that was understandable, but the 3DS and Vita should be able to put out a game of this type pretty well and should be identical to what you get in the consoles. I noticed that it was said that these are identical to the DS, which makes no sense. Ports shouldn't be simplified unless there is no other way of playing it.

Well that will teach me to save more often. I was on the final run of 999 trying for the true ending after stumbling on the Knife ending, Safe ending, Sub ending, and axe ending in that order. Had just cleared the last part of door 9 and I dropped the 3ds and the cart popped out. I had not saved that whole time since I had done it in one sitting. I will just have to start the last run over and blow through the dialog.
Oh man, I learned this in Ocarina of Time when I let the battery die and lost an entire dungeon's worth of progress. I still haven't gone back to replay it.

Funny story. I wasn't saving because I thought I was having problems saving because when ever I tried It said that it had failed. Turns out when it told me to hit 'A' to save, I was hitting 'B' due to years of Xbox usage.
