A lot of the theatrhythm DLC are good selections from the games; I probably would have bought more of them had they implemented actual song previews instead of forcing me to youtube all of the ones I didn't recognize by name. A lot of the FFXI songs in particular were pretty good purchases that I didn't expect to end up getting.

Does 3DS play GBA games? I just happen to have Metroid Zero Mission.

EDIT - Gee let me get off my ass and look at my DS...the answer is no. Should have known better.

Yeah that's one reason I didn't upgrade to the 3ds till recently. I feel like they'd make a killing if they added gba games to their eshop though. maybe it's a future plan?

I still have my original white DSlite (freezes/busted), red DSlite, original 3DS, and 3DSXL. I have a problem. Haha.

I'd love to sell my busted DSlite, but is there even a market for that? I think it basically just freezes at the boot up screen.

I am on and off about getting rid of my red DSlite because of the GBA slot (although I own a Gameboy Advance AND the one that flips open). I have way too many consoles.

On the topic of games, I really liked the Epic Mickey demo. Anyone else? I tried the Rayman demo and was meh. I think I would prefer that on the 360.

I hadn't planned on getting a 3DS until the release of Fire Emblem: Awakening until I discovered New Style Boutique comes out next week. That's Style Savvy: Trendsetters for you in the US.

Am... Am I the only one here interested in this title?

I already have the new style savvy. <3

Dang it. I'm going to need a bigger SD card before I can download Sticker Star.

What's the best way to upgrade SD cards? Just manually copy everything via PC, or is there something special I should do? Any class/speed/brand recommendations?

This is what I'm using, and it works a treat.

And yes... just copy everything onto PC, then onto new SD card and pop it into your 3DS. Make sure your 3DS is actually turned off and not just sleeping when you do this, though.

Metroid Zero Mission was one of the ambassador titles. It's probably in the store, but that means you'd have to buy it again.

Gotta correct you there. Zero Mission was not an ambassador title (Although I wish it was). Metroid Fusion was the ambassador game.

Nope. Nintendo's official stance has been "these games will never be sold." That's a load of BS, in my opinion.

GB has a quicklook up today with Brad and Vinny. It's about an hour long: http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-paper-mario-sticker-star/17-6788/

I'm really bummed to say it, but I think I'm going to pass on Paper Mario. It looks good, but I just can't get on board with all that they've stripped out. About a third of the way in, I was just thinking, "Eh, I hope he just skips past all these enemies" and Brad pretty much did exactly that. I love the Paper Mario battle system as far as turn-based RPGs go, but I need a bit more incentive than a few coins.

I don't follow the logic of, "Oh good, they streamlined it" either. I mean, they took out some things, but the things they took out always seemed to be the reason to dive into battle. It's not really streamlining if you take out the experience points, but leave in the battle system.

So, the huge AR card you can get from Club Nintendo. Yay or nay? I have 600 points right now. I figure the AR card is just something stupid that most 3DS owners get. Should I get it for my collection?

Nay. Got it a bout a year ago. Such a waste of coins. Was fun for about 10 minutes.

    You're making a huge mistake.

Hm, I think I'm just playing it safe. Everything I've seen on the game, from reviews and podcasts to that hour-long quicklook sort of hits on the same flaws, and those flaws sort of hit home with me. Believe me, I want to love this game, but the things people seem to be disappointed in are all things that are sort of essential for my enjoyment of these types of games. I thought maybe I wouldn't mind the critiques, but watching that full hour-long quicklook really killed it for me.

Watching the first hour of a game is probably not the best way to judge an RPG.

There have been complaints about the game's core mechanics--which I've gleaned from podcasts and the like--that happen to resonate with me, and I'm deciding to hold off on the $40 purchase based on those complaints. That's all. The game has scored well--I'm sure most people will enjoy it. I've been following this game for months though, so there's no need to question or argue about the validity of my decision.

    I'm really enjoying Sticker Star.
But i'm the kind of guy that doesn't watch reviews and I just dive in so I did not have any expectations when I started.

It's cute, fun, easy to pick up and put down, few little issues but no game is perfect. (Except Animal Crossing)

If you don't want to pay retail, I would say at least pick it up when some store is offering a buy 2 get 1 free deal on games or something.

It has a lot of good head scratchers in it which is something I feel a lot of RPGs have lost in the past two generations. I love a good puzzle and besides Layton like games which are all puzzles most games seem to have given up on them.

I'd say 8 is probably the best one. I enjoyed 9 quite a bit, and 4 and 5 are probably the best of the old-school (well, older-school) ones.
