Sweet right? 50 dollars off a 100 dollar purchase? Absolutely too sweet.
People went right in and were buying up 100 dollar Amazon gift cards for 50 bucks a pop like it was nothing. Netting upwards of 1600 dollars in Amazon cards for half the price (easy to sell at 90 bucks a card on Craigslist/Ebay, etc).
Best Buy had to step in halfway through the day and issue a complete coupon retraction, which has more than a few people pissed off.
Lesson learned I guess. I keep an eye out for this type of corporate blunder and I'm sort of pissed I missed out. I could have (and would have) paid off the next Xbox/Playstation doing this deal if I had known about it sooner.
Supposedly it was actually supported by MasterCard (IE: they reimbursed Best Buy for the $50 off of each transaction) and they were the ones that stopped it because of people buying gift cards with the deal.
As far as the Pre-Order list goes, I'm probably going to get everything but Crysis, Gears and Injustice. We'll see how Tomb Raider turns out.

Not sure but if this is correct I doubt it.
There are some codes which are sold explicitly as international codes, but if you buy a code in the US and it is not explicitly designated as International, that's a No Go.
In this vein, Best Buy is charging $35 in-store this week. So go-go-pricematching!
And if you can't or won't (for whatever reason), Target is charging $45.
Also...now Amazon is selling 12-month XBL cards at 35 bucks.

I'm honestly considering not resubscribing to Xbox Live for the first time this year. My subscription ends in November, but I barely use the features with any regularity.
How? How do these companies get Steam keys for games such that they can afford to sell brand-goddamn-new releases for $25?
Looks like it's actually one of those legally gray sites that sells foreign Steam keys. Nevermind!
What exactly are the potential issues for downloading a foreign Steam key? Is it a matter of whether it works or not, or could Steam potentially block the game or something?
I know X-Com had an issue regarding its Russian keys or something, but from what I've read most keys work fine.

Steam can and will remove the game from your account.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I'll avoid the risk then.
I dunno if anyone is still interested in 'em, but the handful of PSPs left at Target are $99.99. One box was even marked that it came with two pack-in games. (Twisted Metal and Socom 3, I believe.)

You too can be severely disappointed like every other person with internet access!
Or do you mean disappointed like in a general fashion about everything, as the internet tends to promote?

Edit: On second thought, buyer beware. Seems to be one of those foreign Steam Key sites.
