I bought an XBone and 2 games on Friday because of the deal Best Buy had on the Titanfall bundle. Afterwards I found out that that for Friday/Saturday only you were also supposed to get a $15 gift card with the purchase of an XBone and 2 games at Best Buy. Since I didn't get my gift card I had to go back this morning and get it straightened out. Just letting people know in case they jumped on the $450 Titanfall bundle deal, got a couple games with their new console, but didn't get the gift card they were supposed to.
Oh yes. All those Guitar Hero/DJ Hero songs getting discounted? Turns out all of that DLC is being delisted at the end of the month. So I'd there was anything you wanted, you've got a week to get it.
Also: does the Bioshock Pass cover Burial at Sea or not?
Yes, it does.
EDIT:
But it does not cover Columbia's Finest. Personally, I'm holding out for a sale on the Season Pass since it also includes the Early Bird Special Pack.
which provides four exclusive gears, Machine Gun and Pistol Damage Upgrades, gold skins for each weapon, and five infusion bottles for the main campaign
Even without a sale it's more or less a good bargain comparatively unless you were to hold out for 50% off on Burial at Sea 2 and didn't care about the Early Bird pack.
Oh, hey. Also, more sales stuff from MS starting Friday.
Thief* 50%
Tomb Raider* 50%
Call of Duty: Ghosts* 33%
*Discounts on these games are valid from 28 March 2014 through 30 March 2014.
Ghooooooooooooosts!
I'm almost tempted by Thief. But I also know that I won't be playing it any time soon and I'm sure it'll be $30 or less again eventually. Is this one First Person only or do they have a Third Person view a la Thief Deadly Shadows?
1st person only, but it does some interesting things with the sense of 'self' for the player. Garrets hands are always rubbing all over stuff, if you know what I mean :winky: (but yeah, it'll totally be like $10 in a few months)
That's rather too bad. I'm all for First Person games that do more than just give the player guns, but I never feel comfortable running around like that. No real sense of spatial awareness.

Third Dead Space is still pretty good! Kind of loses Steam near the end, but the part where you're in orbit and exploring the derelict fleet is great. For what it's worth, I liked Dead Space and loved Dead Space 2.

Wow, I didn't even intend to do that. I'm so used to capitalizing the S in Steam these days. Almost makes it look like I was intending to make that joke!
Dead Space 3 was a competent-enough game, but it successfully completed the evolution from 'tense, atmospheric fight for survival' to '3rd person action monster shooter'. I loved 1 and 2, but 3 was too far in the wrong direction, for my tastes.

Eh, Dead Space 2 and 3 are pretty much the same atmosphere-wise. If you play solo, it's your classic Dead Space game. Co-Op takes the tension down a lot since you got a bro watching your back, but then the game fucks with the both of you in the best of ways. With one person hearing scary ass monster noises while the other doesn't hear anything at all. Then maybe the other guy sees weird hallucinations that the first guy doesn't see at all.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Funny coincidence, cause I could swear 3 had a music sting from one of the Alien movies. Right when you are on the cliff overlooking the facility toward the beginning of the game, and the blizzard clears up giving you a good view of it.

They all used a number of muisc bits from the Aliens movies as I recall.
The first Dead Space is easily my favorite of the three. Started liking the series less as it got more action oriented not to mention the plot getting a lot worse.
My only real problem with Dead Space was the "scares" were too damn predictable.
"Oh look, there's a 'dead' body on the floor. Gee, I hope it doesn't get up and attack me when I get too close!"
The atmosphere of the game was great, but good god damn did they lean on that gimmick way too often. After the second or third body, I just started shooting every random body I came across in the corridors, since they were still "active" and would respond early if provoked instead of waiting for the proper scripted moment.

Not all of them were active tho, that's what made it scary. In fact it was maybe 1 in 10. And it made me tense as hell whenever I saw one so, yeah, it worked great.

Wonder if it's worth it for essentially half (or 2/3) the price of disc version. (Is multi still a thing that isn't dominated by maximum level geese?)
Also, if you use code EMCPGWB87 at Newegg you can get 20% off Microsoft cards. So go nuts.

I also bought Armored edition preowned for $18 all to prepare for my refurb Wii U I'm buying at the start of next month.

Also, NBA2k14 is either on sale or has received a price cut. Could be a further 2kGames sale going on, but only the above are Gold Exclusive.
Sort of...
This does not affect Rock Band DLC.
Did that go on sale recently or was there a price drop?

Second game was alright.
Still kind of afraid to play the third one.

Yeah, no. There was plenty in DS3 to dislike just none of it was gameplay.
Well, there is the stupid "love triangle" and the war crimes committed against Ellie's character... still a great game, though :P
