I did this for a friend with his launch 360 and upgrading to the new E variant. Gotta make sure you license transfer afterwards though. And possibly delete/redownload everything as well (I've had DLC still not work offline after I did a transfer until I redownloaded it).
Cant you just get one of the transfer cables and not worry about opening up your machine and/or voiding the warranty on it?
The hard drives are seperate units. You'd be voiding the warranty on the old one but that's long gone it sounds like anyways.
The cables are like 15 bucks and when I tried to order one years ago they were super hesitant about it, apparently it is used in piracy.
I haven't checked recently, but I know when the slim models came out you could just buy them in at best buy or whatever and not need to go through microsoft at all. I mean, you can still get them without any issue, but yeah, messing with the hardware itself would be the free way of doing it.
I think I still have my cable somewhere from when my original 360 red ringed. Someday when I have spare mone (olol) I'll have to pick up one of the newer, much larger capacity models. The 120gb on my current 360 just doesn't cut it and I'm tired of having to constantly manage space.

I know that some of the stuff just came out (or is not even out yet), but honestly the wait is usually not that long for most of this stuff. The longest I've ever had to wait was for Rocket Knight, and that was because it was such a low impact game that the devs/publishers probably didn't even remember it TO put on sale.

Yeah maybe but it wasn't great shakes imo. If I remember right, there may have been a tiny deal (like 33% off) AND I only want the Burial episodes, don't care to pay anything for 'challenge room' type stuff. I grabbed the 50% off Episode 1, waiting for any kind of deal on Episode 2 will be a big savings overall.
That's also why I skipped the Batman and AC4 season pass deals. If you don't want everything in the pass, you're much better off with a more targeted sale.
Not...really? The base price for the season pass is 20, but each burial at sea episode is only $5 cheaper at 15 each. But yeah, you already got 1, so it's a moot point.

I still have about $10 in what used to be MS points. Almost bought Halo Wars this morning, but eh. I'm honestly not sure what games on Xbox Live are left that I actually want now. I don't think there are many exclusives anymore.

Seems like the right price for an online only one-trick pony, and maybe the drop implies others have had the same thoughts. But it's really just one store and I wouldn't say indicative of overall sales. But oh do I miss the industry thread.
Prices are going up and down, even digitally, for console games in a way we haven't really seen before. I don't think it means anything other than competition is getting fierce
I wish it would happen more for the PS4 then. I want some of the launch games but they never seem to drop. Other than thief and ghosts I never seem to catch a deal on any. I want NBA live and NFS rivals for like 30/35. Maybe I'm too greedy. Good for Microsoft that they are doing deals like this. I guess I still have PS+.
