So, I tried to use google to find the day-z threads.

I used "site:forums.penny-arcade.com day z" in google. I clicked the first link and got a malware warning page. I may be making the wrong decision in starting this thread but do so in service to the boards.

That's not a malware warning page, it's just a notification that the site you're going to isn't what the URL would have you think. If it was redirecting you to autohackyourcomputer.ru or something that would be worrying, but that the forums are hanging out at *.vanillaforums.com isn't really something to worry about.

It's something that would still be nice if it weren't there, though. If you don't know that vanilla hosts the forums, it could be cause for concern.

It would be a cause for concern if you thought *.vanillaforums.com were a potential source of malware, yes.

Which I don't think everyone would know is a faulty thought. Not even sure if there's anything to do on our end, or how often people actually access the forums via google, but it wouldn't surprise me if that turns away some people

I'd say a big red page that marks this site as malware might cause concern for some people, especially people not intimately familiar with these forums.

Hell, I've been a member here since 2003 and the first time I saw that it even gave ME pause.

Ive gotten this on twitter, facebook, and here occasionally, either saying vanillaforums or ekabi.net (might be spelling that wrong, its whatever twitter/wikipedia uses for their stuff) are not the website you are looking for. I looked into it and it seems to be my router, and I can fix it by resetting my dns through the command prompt/mac terminal. But at least for me its my router, at least I hope thats what it is.

Used this method for pc: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/1600/vista_dns_cache_flush/

Change the adress from https to http.

This. While our service supports HTTPS, when someone configures their forum with a custom domain the SSL stops being transparent and requires additional configuration. We've not had that request from PA.
