Yeah, I got put in charge of Delta, and when I tried to rally them for a max drop onto the tower, only the one or two dudes who stayed in the main channel actually showed from Delta. Never was able to find the rest of the squad

I'm on that server (surprisingly little lag) character name is TPSou. I don't think I've had any kills yet, a few assists, but was really just getting used to the controls and dying a lot. Is there much yo ucan do without spending money?
I haven't spent money yet, and I've had a pretty good time. I do feel VERY handicapped though, since earning new weapons looks to be really hard without spending cash.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST NIGHT!
1) MAX Dropping into Tawrich from Sniper's Gal
2) Keeping both the TR and NC off the roof multiple times.
3) The MAX/Eng push into the teleporters/gunnery bridge
4) Taking down 3 MAX units across from the spawn room (the SNC room? What's it called?)
5) 2 Straight hours of sniper guy saying "Where dem sundies at. GOnna MINE 'em!" - You have a problem, dude.
6) Delta squad being all badass and saying "C'mon guys, get in lobby 5." I know it was for noise reasons, but from the other end, it felt pretty cool. I had a very "Go get 'em guys! Break radio silence when mission is complete!" vibe.
Downsides:
1) I can't kill anything that isn't a MAX with my default dumbire rockets. I guess it helps to freak out the tanks a bit? It seems a waste on normal infantry. With help i can take them down, though! Getting 3 other HA's firing on a signle target feels very nice.
2) There are soo many arrows over heads that even when I see an enemy, I don't know it.
3) I feel like I'm dying in out hit every single time. That is not a good feeling.
PS2 Does Positional damage, so hit a tank in the front with your bazooka and then the tank runs over you, hit it in the rear twice to pop a lib and 3 (twice? IDK) times for an MB I think. It is doable.
Same goes for Sundderers. Side armor is also weaker, but not quite as much.

"How are you going to play Dota if your fingers and bitten off? You can't. That's how" -> Carnarvon
"You can be yodeling bear without spending a dime if you get lucky." -> reVerse
"In the grim darkness of the future, we will all be nurses catering to the whims of terrible old people." -> Hacksaw
"In fact, our whole society will be oriented around caring for one very decrepit, very old man on total life support." -> SKFM
I mean, the first time I met a non-white person was when this Vietnamese kid tried to break my legs but that was entirely fair because he was a centreback, not because he was a subhuman beast in some zoo ->yotes

Yeah, Elba, I would love it if I could get 3 or 4 other HAs to fire in coordinated fashion on tanks and just cream them before the tanks have a chance to panic and retreat. Would require ppl in their own chat room being very coordinated though.

Until they apparently decided "Hey, let's fuck off and not tell anyone!"
They kind of really demonstrated why separate channels in the way they wanted to do them were a terrible fucking idea. Because they left, and then were just gone later when we needed them.
TBH the whole delta squad thing actually made me leave the platoon and go play with pubbies for awhile, they wanted to be able to talk to each other, shoot the shit, still go after platoon waypoints that were set, without being completely micro managed, which i completely understand and agree with, that's kinda what playing with PA'ers is about, yet people were raging/angry that they dared leave the main channel, bit too SRSBSNS for me.

I wasn't there, but the concern doesn't seem to be "i'm angry you left the channel because I can't micromanage you then," it's that it's hard to coordinate with people when people aren't paying attention. The real answer is having a system like mumble where multiple channels let us use an all-platoon channel to issue orders or relay critical info but people can do their bullshitting in managable squad-sized channels. In game chat has this but people don't use it.
Is anyone playing this right now? I'd like to have someone to shoot mans and capture points with that can sort of tell me what the hell's going on. Character name is Khristof.

Had a blast last night in my lib - time to rack up some more certs to trick it out even more.
The roll speed upgrade is amazing for avoiding badness.

@GrimmyTOA, yeah I can hang out on Vent. Guess I'll just be dicking around wherever I see a bunch of Vanu dudes until then.

I don't remember anyone being pissed until they just vanished and didn't listen to text chat or anything else or reply to their squad leader. When they were being sent after the tower, no one cared that they went into their own channel. People were a little surprised, but no one raged. In fact, right after they left we had an actual discussion about how to better set the Vent up to allow for multiple channels and such. Why would raging people have a discussion like that?
I just don't even know how you can accuse anyone of being angry.

That MAX drop yesterday was awesome and hilarious. We just melted the faces of sooo many NC, broke that stalemate in seconds and racked up serious XP. A++ would drop again.
The fight over the Tawrich control point after the TR took advantage of the situation and tried to steal it from us was just unbelievable. I could not fire my heal gun fast enough to heal everyone. There were just bodies everywhere but somehow we still managed to kick them out. I think that was the most intense fight I've ever been in. The best thing was that it wasn't just one side camping a spawn building or something. They were entrenched on one side and we were entrenched on the other side and the point itself was just a no-mans land.

Just jumped on if anyone wants to squad up or whatever.
I can't wait to unlock the Revive Grenade. Sooo many opportunities where I currently wish I had it. Just hope I get XP from all the rezzes. :P
Right now my upgrade path is: Revive Grenade. Grenade Bandolier. Laser Sight for my CME. Next to Last Revive Gun, Grenade Bandolier 2, Final Revive Gun. Gonna be an expensive trip. But should be pretty fantastic when its done.

Honestly, it wasn't that with me. I just couldn't actually find them anywhere on the Vent server, and nobody was listening to the in-game VC or the squad chat. Personally, I'm fine with big mob, then splitting out to smaller channels with Leaders ghosting a 'Comm' channel to coordinate when we need to do many things at once.

wow are you serious
it's 1000 fucking certs
and you don't get exp for using it?
I think it is a bug currently that makes you not get xp for it, could already be fixed though
Well, I know for a while in beta you did get XP. Then someone in Vent last night said that they hoped they fixed the bug where that stopped, because he was getting them anyway.
So, I don't think we actually know at this point.

The Medic Gun is probably going to be more useful than the Revive grenade in the long run.
4 meter effective range and 100% health for infantry revives will make it very useful.
I've got the penultimate Medic Gun upgrade and it's already much more useful than it was with the previous upgrade.

Tip about the revive grenade for people looking at maybe getting it.
The damn thing bounces around wildly like normal grenades. So unless you are confident in your grenade throwing skills you might be better served saving those certs for something else.
At least that is my experience.
edit- Although a well timed and placed Revive Grenade is a pretty bitch'n thing.

Yeah, I've read that they bounce like woah, but their range is supposedly pretty big, so you can at least be off by a bit. But just today there were situations where a revive grenade would be the only way to safely rez a small group of people.

I picked up a spawn beacon and will grab way points next time I bank 30 certs.
Oh, I picked up Squad Beacon level 2 yesterday. I may actually invest in the smoke signals because I'm finding situations where they would be really handy for marking where things like Generators, Sunderers, etc. are at.

I'm still pretty new to this so I'd love to have an easier time finding those damned hidden generators. Also, what's considered an adequate callout for spotting baddies? Something like "Foobar Biolab, Sunderer spotted west of the south building?" I guess this matters more if we break into trying to tackle two objectives at once instead of massing bodies "once more unto the breach, dear friends."
it's still important at a large base fight when there's lots of ground to cover. "Enemy AMS at the southwest outpost" is how I normally phrase it, and then if people wanna go kill it we can get more specific.
It's also really helpful to refer to yourself by your squad number, since that's what everybody sees on the maps. Ex: "Enemy AMS south of bravo squad #4." Then everybody can just check the map and see exactly where you are.

What it is
Where it is
What it is doing
So, "Enemy sunderer, SW of X biolab, moving east" or "Enemy armor, coming up the road to the west of Ti Materials" both work.
"Oh shit, galaxy drop!" doesn't work.
Hopefully, they'll get grid coordinates in at some point, so "Where it is" can be a bit more precise.
