I put the NV scope on everything, all the time now.
-it gives you much better vision of your surroundings than even the 1x / 2x reflex
-it is extremely useful at night
-it shows infiltrators
-it shows mines & C4
I've been spotting and killing lots of enemy mines/C4 with my NV scopes. I died once yesterday because I had a 1x reflex equipped instead of the NV and couldn't properly track an infiltrator.
Seconded. With my light assault in particular, if I'm too far away for my NV scope, then I probably shouldn't be engaging anyway.
As an LA I use the 6-7 and the Pulsar C, depending on the situation. (Occasionally I will use the Nova for fun or in a tower fight). I haven't been using the Pulsar C for long, but so far the general pattern is:
Pulsar C (2x reflex, foregrip and HV ammo):
General-purpose outdoors
Wide-open outposts
Amp Stations (all areas)
Tech Plants (outdoors)
Bio Labs (roof-hopping in the dome, or during air-pad push)
6-7 (1x reflex, advanced laser sight):
Tower fights
Closed-in or many-building outposts (due to being inside more often, or getting the drop on people)
Tech Plants (indoors)
Bio Labs (on the dome floor, capping points)
I was surprised at how much I liked the Pulsar C after using the 6-7 exclusively for so long, but it is a much better medium-long range carbine than the 6-7, especially with attachments. As an LA, my ability to get into CQC range is also an ability to avoid it, so I can take advantage of both the 6-7 or the Pulsar C depending on the environment and how I want to play. It may partly be due to my personal play style, but I have found myself much more effective as an LA now that I am also using the Pulsar C (outside of situations which demand the 6-7).
If I'm using the C on my Engy, think the compensator would be good? On my NC Heavy, that combo you listed is great on the default SAW, but as an Heavy I don't care if people know where I am.

With the foregrip I find the Pulsar C recoil is pretty easily manageable. I haven't felt like I need the compensator on it, and I prefer to keep hip-fire cone-of-fire minimal for emergency CQC (the Pulsar C is bad enough there as it is). Also, as an LA especially, I would rather be less noticeable.

Any of you spacebros use the eidolon? Trialed it on my HA and engi, and I've got to say it's pretty fun, even with just the iron sights.
I use the 6-7 on my engi and the LSW on my HA pretty much exclusively, so don't really make much happen at long ranges; the eidolon, once scoped, seems like it could perform long-range work fairly effectively.
* - I should probably add I have a slug nova as well, but can never seem to make too much happen with it. The recoil just kills me, even with the grip.

I agree with the nova bit (thank goodness the pellet is such a murderer at close range, or I'd be miffed) but my understanding is that at the moment you might want to trial the Flare (for HA) or Pulsar C (for Engi) if you want a longer ranged option, as it's kinda hard to get the 5-6 body shots you need for a kill with the Eidolon at range before the other guy gets out of sight.
I should mention, I'm going to try streaming tonight's escapades. The stream link is here, so if I'm on and you want to watch it'll be here: twitch.tv/fourthoracle
the eidolon would be pretty nice if it did more damage or fired a bit faster. But at less than half the RoF of most of the carbines/ARs and less damage than scout rifles or semi-auto snipers it's sort of outclassed at every distance. Now if they'd just let engineers use the scout rifles we'd be talking.

Higby has mentioned on his twitter feed that they are going to do a pass on all the infantry weapons, including battle rifles... but not until the next major update.

Draw of the eidolon for me is that it works for engi and HA, and it seemed to fire as fast as I could click. Might check out the Pulsar C or the Flare or Ursa if any of 'em ever go on sale.
Hey, I don't mean to be That Guy, but I've checked out the OP and a few other places and I can't quite tell for sure whether this is the acceptable way to join the outfit: do I just friend request someone from the OP and ask for an invite?
I'm an Aussie on exchange in the US for the spring semester. No mic yet, but may have one in a few weeks. I'm hoping to enjoy that old PA community feel while here in the States and away from the 'Box. Always loved the idea of the first game, but couldn't afford the PC and connection it asked for.

What worked for me was actually sending a /t from one of the folks in the OP (Platoon leaders), however, I could never find any of them on /who. The best bet (i'm led to believe) is to jump in to Vent, join the PS2 channel if it's running and go from there.
However, i'm a noob, so take that with salt and lime.
I'm sometimes grumpy and random, feel free to overlook the strange man in the corner.

Since you don't have a mic, you can join the Vent channel and just listen in. Then, edit your comment to "I need an invite to CoA: [NAME]" and someone should notice it.

I should log into vent someday and bother someone for an Outfit invite. I'm level 20 and I still haven't been assed to hop on vent. In other news. I got me a Hydra for my Medic with a 1x and foregrip. I like this gun.
Ok, so I'm looking for some advice on what to upgrade. I've just been dumping certs into my medi-gun so far, since Medic will probably be one of my go to classes, but I'm probably gonna start heading down the path of engi also at some point. What gets the best bang for the buck?
Upgrading your repair gun at least a couple of levels and getting tank mines would be my recommendation for initial upgrades for the engineer. After that I'd get a 1x, 2x or NV sight for whatever weapon you're using, and then I'd plug certs into vehicles you like.
Right now the Snorlax is a beast, but I feel like it's still not quite efficient enough. It has two Bulldogs, but usually only one is firing at a time while the other stares at a wall or out into space. We also seem to find quite a few Sunderers, but lack the means to destroy them from the air.
So what if I changed one of the Bulldogs to a Drake? The thing does decent damage to armor, and it would also be an extra anti-air cannon just in case. If we did this, the only thing we wouldn't be able to handle is heavy armor. The Bulldog, though effective against infantry, does pretty piss damage to any kind of armor.
Two bulldogs on the sides, drake on top, walker on the tail, and fly upside-down.
Also have the non gunner slots be filled entirely with disposable Engineers all with as many tank mines as they can carry so that we can rain exploding mans on top of unsuspecting armor columns. Tank mine hot drop awaaaaaaaay!
I don't mind admitting that I'm completely disposable.

Yeah Fourth, I have a config on my Gal like that as well. Finally got rid of my house guests, so I should be able to get some Stupid Sexy Vanu time in tonight
NC on Waterson seem to only attack VS. Not sure why. I've lost track of how many times the NC spend their time trying to take Peris from the VS when TR own 2/3 of Indar.

I've seen the Vanu do similar things, it seems hard for them to ignore the sirens call of Tawrich tech. Maybe people just assume the side holding all the territory is going to be too difficult of a fight. Ideally, players will at some point figure out that the target of choice should be whoever owns the continent until the bonus is broken, but I'm not sure many players really understand the mechanics of continent ownership.
Prioritizing a Tech plant makes sense, though, when the mag-rider is arguably our greatest strength.
Vehicle points are not an issue for far away the majority of the player base who don't have the cooldown certification maxed and have very recently had their tank blown up. Simply owning Hvar is enough. And by taking away the non-dominant (the other faction not owning the continent) faction's tech plant, you're forcing them to either pull resources to fight you or attack the dominant faction without MBT's.
The general masses don't really give a damn about the current strategic metagame. Also, the NC can't help themselves from plunging into our rear whenever we try to give the TR some home schooling in the north. This just compels the VS to use Mags/Libs to snip snip their baby (tank) maker in retaliation.
Thus, we have the Push TR out of HVAR and Allatum> VS go North > NC pushes west > VS go South to retake Peris from NC > castrate NC's Tech plant > Push TR out of HVAR and Allatum > and so on...
Black lives matter.

I think the mechanic behind the NC-VS squabbling while TR runs around the whole north is The Crown. The zerg pushes to the crown, fights for hours, and the smarter zerglings try to surround the crown and cut it off. Thus Crossroads Watchtower, the key to the Crown, so NC and VS dip south and momentum shoves the push into Peris & Tawrich from there.
