    I unlocked the NV 1x scope on my medic to try it out on my Hydra. It is some seriously hot shit. Also I changed some config settings for PS2 so now the game looks stupidly pretty but I'm still chugging at shitty fps. At least it's pretty! And holy shit it gets dark outside. A part of me wants to set everything back to low just so I can see in the dark with incredible ease. But then again that's what my shiny new scope is for.

    Seconded. With my light assault in particular, if I'm too far away for my NV scope, then I probably shouldn't be engaging anyway.

    To add to this list of advantages, the NV scope lets you see through smoke, and many people are using smoke grenades now.

    I wish it let you see through foliage (trees) but it really doesn't. Does thermal?

    Speaking of grenades, if you lose all your shields and your HUD changes, you got hit with an EMP grenade. Friendlies like to spam these in spawn rooms. If your screen goes a little blurry, and you can strafe side to side but not really turn, i'ts a concussion grenade.

    I was wondering what those things did because I've never seen one go off. I'm assuming it's got a much bigger blast radius than a frag to make up for the fact that it doesn't kill anybody?

    I like putting C4 or proximity mines a little way inside the biolab spawn room, then right before it flips putting tank mines at all the doors. Usually one of the first guys in will set off the proximity mine and then the guys coming behind him will get caught by the tank mine.

    I've been sorta waiting for the patch to see how the performance increases are myself, many of my scythe deaths come from me flying over too many things and running into something due to bad control at low fps.

    I don't really understand why they nerfed the turbo laser for the scythe. The patch notes mentioned wanting it be used as a short range weapon, but if you get too close to a liberator you're going to get a dalton round in your cockpit.

    Edit: well I might have spoken too soon, I just flew around a bit and it isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Just have to lead things more.

    Just logged in and I'm pretty sure they changed the firing sound for the 6-7 and added a kinda funky first shot recoil animation that doesn't seem to effect how it shoots.

    As an added bonus to our earliest supporters, we’ve increased the bonus percentage of our Alpha Squad boost to 50% resources and XP.
    Added tiered kill xp
    Killing a player who has been alive for less than 10 seconds and has not earned more than 5 xp will yield a diminished “Spawn Kill” xp reward of 25 xp
    Killing a player who has been alive for more than 10 seconds, or earned more than 5 xp and less than 1000 xp will yield a normal “Kill” xp reward of 100 xp
    Killing a player who has earned equal to or more than 1000 xp but less than 2000 xp will yield an enhanced “High Threat Kill” xp reward of 150 xp
    Killing a player who has earned equal to or more than 2000 xp will yield an enhanced “Extreme Menace Kill” xp reward of 300 xp
    Added Surface-to-Air Damage experience rewards
    Applying a fair amount of damage to air vehicles while not in an air vehicle should now grant a 20 xp reward

    Increased Sunderer Kill xp
    Fixed a bug with the Sunderer ammo dispenser where a squaded driver did not receive xp from resupplying non-squadded friendly player vehicles
    The global population xp and resource reward adjustments should now be granted to players on a continent based on that continent’s population level instead of the world population level
    all those xp updates seem pretty solid, but bolded emphasis, hell yes.

I understand what they're trying to do in terms of diminishing spawn camping, but if a guy runs out of the spawn room at a tower or a biolab or wherever he's just as much a threat to the attackers as the guy who just arrived via galaxy drop or whatever. I mean at lots of bases a guy can be on a control point before he's been alive for ten seconds, and that's not even considering dudes who spawn via AMS.

    I don't think they can really diminish spawn camping by reducing the incentive either; it happens much more just as a result of base capture mechanics than it does because people are trying to farm exp.

    Also, the spawn kill issue won't be that bad since most players are complete cocks and just hide behind the shield anyway for far longer than ten seconds. If anything, this change will encourage people to run out asap to prevent themselves from becoming worth anything.

    not that its a disincentive, npig. but they are bringing spawn camping xp gains inline with the effort it takes to perform the task, because at the end of a base capture, spawn camping is pretty effortless, so the xp reward is in line with that.

    as for ams sunderers, it might just prompt people to blow the damn thing up like they are supposed to instead of letting a legitimate threat to your base go unmolested. sure that tank killed 30 guys spawned from that sunderer, but 5 others got out and managed to kill our burster maxes which let in their air, or managed to hold a generator long enough for vehicles to come in.

    of course that's pretty analogous to ''for want of a nail, the kingdom was lost'', but that is a thing.

    Just the A/B/C points. You still get experience for when the base flips.

    MAXs can no longer arm/disarm generators now. Also, MAXs can't cap points either.

    SOE misplaced a decimal point buffing something 20%, so something's bullets are now 200% faster. Something very, very bad to have that boost. It now destroys everything and travels faster than sniper bullets.

    And very stupid people are saying it's fair because MAGRIDERS TWO GOODER TEN US.
