Beginning of this year I started doing a series of illustrations of my favourite adventure games. I'm up to 42 illustrations so far and wanted to see if the PA community had some comments on it. Maybe you even like it?
Anyway, here's the first and some of the latest ones:
Any critique is welcome, especially what you think of the variation in style over time.. Have I lost the touch since I started or has my style just evolved through doing 42 of these.
Sidenote: This has been a great study in trying to capture each characters look in my own style!
Though, I think the super thick line width borders are killing a lot of the charm. If the line thickness were beefier where it was appropriate instead of automatically around the perimeter, I think these would be better for it.
full throtle and monkey island, you are ok in my book.
Also, what the other guy said about lines.+1
Yes, with a quick verbal "boom." You take a man's peko, you deny him his dab, all that is left is to rise up and tear down the walls of Jericho with a ".....not!" -TexiKen
Thanks for the feedback. I did a larger piece, still of adventure game characters, and your advice about line thickness was ringing thoroughly through my head the entire time. Hope the general line quality doesn't disappoint.
maniac mansion 1, and.... the clown from Legend of Kyrandia ?? also, individually, Im sure many of this pics wouldnt work, but as a group, as they are displayed here, I think the style works perfectly.

I love the characters. I still think the line thickness needs looking at. Like look at Manny Calavera. His body is lovely, and some great line weight, but then a weirdly inconsistently wide line around his head just doesn't look right.
The style is superb though. Love the characterisation. Also +10000000000 awesome points for doing Grim Fandango at all

Seriosuly though, these are very charming and I love them much.
It's a series of four free point and click adventure games that are pretty fantastic.
