"Names, in premodern Japan, were not absolute markers of one’s identity, but relative markers of one’s age, status, and position. A samurai’s name changed as he aged.An infant, a boy, a married household head, and a retired household head each had different responsibilities, so a change in name was only natural."

This makes a lot of sense to me.

This, incidentally, is why you see names like Ichiro (literally, first boy -- what you would call your first son before he had some other title) so often

so the dessert for dinner is listed as pumpkin pie, strawberry rhubarb something, tasty pie, ice cream, and whipped cream

2 quarts vanilla and 1 quart strawberry is sufficient right

this is my only contribution to dinner i have to get it right guys

So I'm in an Embassy Suites, right

And there's a "business center" which has computers which are connected to the internet, which, thank god

The computers are all-in-ones that have to have like a 25" 16x9 screen

They are running, in my estimation, at 800x600. I am getting dizzy trying to surf the web.

Also for some reason they only have IE (gross) and have tabs disabled in the browser (SUPER GROSS)

Netflix, how did I get here? And how did I get here so late considering it stars Bob Hoskins and Jeff Goldblum?

    it's not that bad

I think the critics hadn't seen Casino Royale recently, and you really need the first one fresh in your mind for it to make sense

Yes. This is normal for business centers. I would also assume those computers have an abundance of keyloggers and viruses.

Lots of people seem to be revisiting it. I guess since Skyfall just came out. I just saw it for the first time the other day and thought it was pretty good.

It's really only bad in comparison to Casino Royale...that I also watched for only the second time a couple of days ago. The way they explain poker is adorable in a way I did not pick up on at all when I first saw it in theaters...six years ago.
