I just picked up BL2. If anyone is interested in tooling around with a noob I'll probably be open for some multiplayer this weekend. Hit me up on Steam.
(Which means I'm looking for an invite to Wangs Without Borders, I guess).
Torgue shotties are indeed the bestest. Right now I'm split between dual-pistols and shotgun/AR combos. And I was thinking Rampage all the way down and then split between Brawn and Gunlust.
So, what's Sal's class mod supposed to be? I mean, Zer0's are arm fins, Gaige has a lunchbox, Maya has a book, and Axton has a shoulder camera/laser sight... but what's Sal's?
If you look at Sal in 3rd person,he has 2 under his armpits connected to his ammo belts
What do you guys think of both BL and BL2 played Singleplayer? I asked about this in the Steam thread (and @lolo sent me a link to this thread), thinking about buying it before the sale ends. Would like some more opinions about the game played singleplayer. I did receive a couple friend requests on steam from PA members to play coop though.
I played the first one completely solo a couple times through and have been predominately solo on BL2 and it's been great for me. I really should try and get back into BL2 with some coop though, I've been distracted by Deus Ex lately.
It's pretty good solo. There are a few places where it drags due to the lack of useful weapons if you have bad luck but the shift codes and friends help diminish that.
The humor is topnotch. Jack some of the best lines in the game.
Does anyone else just viciously hate Hyperion guns?
Everyone once in a while I see a neat gun, then notice the Hyperion make and am all "Oh fuck, trash then."
i've warmed to them
their shotguns are the best there are, and their SMGs, while not as great, are a great mix of power and fire rate and losing the first few shots isn't a big loss
i won't touch their pistols or sniper rifles with a ten foot pole though
hyperion has some of the best pistols for sustained firing (with the sheriff badge's 50% fire rate increase). The only competitor to them is vladoff, which goes everywhere and eats more bullets/damge

I just got and started playing BL2 single-player yesterday. It's been pretty fun so far. Now I'm wondering why I didn't get this game at launch.
OTOH, discounts!
I'll add you to my friends list though, in case of future multiplayer shenanigans.
i finally got off my ass to beat torgue... at least the non raid variant before the next dlc lands. Overall im still not happy that im more hide and shoot then run and gun because a few steps out of cover and i get reeeamed.
trex can suck a dick... that is all
It seems the dlc has a decided effort to avoid using claptrap... seems strange not to see of hear from the guy throughout a dlc.
Borderlands 2 newbie here. So what's the protocol with the keys? Should I save them all for max level? Unless I'm really struggling because of bad luck with drops?
The thing about keys is it's a crapshoot. I've burned 6 keys and I'm level 42. I'd say the best one I got was a plasma blaster at 34. If you need an AR, mods and shields aren't necessarily going to help. The best thing I got in this game was an unkempt harold at level 13. That had an impact for quite a while and that was a random drop.

Keys continue to be doled out so if you keep an eye on the thread you'll be able to grab more later. If you're really hurting for some new loot, might as well use a key.
Depending on how you plan to handle max level/equipment/legendaries, you may not even find much use for keys at max level. Better to use some when you need it.
Alright, I got this with the Mechnomancer DLC yesterday just before it went off sale and played it pretty much the entire day, got a level 13 Maya that just finished meeting with the "Firehawk," and a 7 Gaige about to go after Captain Flynt. Already in Wangs Without Borders, so it's just really an issue of getting together to shoot things.
I play BL/BL2 SP almost exclusively. But I'm always down to start new characters.
I still want to do an LP of the first game, and now the second, with a dedicated group of PA'ers.
I played BL1 entirely by myself as well, something I hope to rectify this time around.
Also, the LP thing? I would love to do something like that, if you don't mind me being mostly mute. I assume each person would have a unique vault hunter? Lilith was my favorite (invisibilty, elemental effect galore, ahhh) but I did play Roland a bit and I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy Mordicai.
EDIT: P.S. right before I quit for the night, I got an automatic Vladof Sniper Rifle that has a higher bullet damage as the Jacobs one I had (Jacobs was 8, the Vladof was 13... and it is heavenly.
Also, unless it is a shotgun that fires more than 3 times before reloading, I don't bother with Hyperion.
I am in the middle of playing through the Torgue DLC right now and I have to say that it is definitely some of the best writing I have seen out of Gearbox for their DLC's at least. It come pretty close to Knoxx in that regard. However as many of you have stated it is by now obvious that Gearbox, despite loving them, has absolutely no idea how to actually implement a raid boss. Or really even a big boss fight. I have lost it laughing so hard I had to pause not to die a few times now and that really helps make up for the shitty gameplay in my opinion.
Also I am trying to finish up all the Challenges that gives skins/heads as rewards and so I am having to run around crouched shooting with my AR. Even with the nerf to the Bee, without it I would be getting my ass handed to me so bad. I just cannot come up with a build that gives Zer0 anywhere near the power the other characters have with guns outside of Sniper Rifles. Oh well, at least I am getting it done.

As a gunzerker, the accuracy when hip firing is incredibly useful. Especially if you're going pisolero.
Dahl on the other hand...
Dahl would be awesome if most of the stuff in the game could be killed with a three round burst or two to a crit spot. Since there's basically nothing in PT2 and beyond that will die that easy, Dahl is usually an instant trash for me.
Hyperion really is awesome for low accuracy characters. I love the shit out of 'em on my fire rate Rambo gunzerker. He's right at 35 and just beat warrior and I want to level that dude more but....ugh, PT2. Maybe I should finally download the update and do some coop with him.
If you are looking to do the BL2 campaign co-op I would suggest doing it with 1-2 other players max. Getting 4 people to somehow manage the same playtimes is a nightmare.
So, I started playing this last night because of @Iolo and his spreading of the good word of pitchford, and I'm probably playing maya wrong, but I don't really care, since I phaselock a man, then run up to him and shotgun him in the face. Then do the same to his buddies. Usually have to do a last stand, but then I just continue with shotgun.

Jack thinks he is the hero, which makes it better.
Also, Scooter wrote a poem.
I did enjoy the DLC, I just dislike the infatuation Gearbox has with grinding to get cooler stuff.

Playing again now with one co-op partner and the difficulty set to 4 players. Nothing like a challenging kill!

So if you've already been emailed and redeemed the codes from that thing, these won't work again.
Huh, the post made it sound like it was a new one

Awesome! I just went from 2 to 18 keys in a couple of minutes! Now I just need to resist temptation once I reach Sanctuary.
