i'm on my way up to the ship for the matchstick quest, and as i hit the bottom of the structure area, where claptrap gets stuck on the stairs in the story, i kill all the dudes and immediately after get sniped by some ridiculous dude way up above me
i spit out an obscenity, go back, avoid getting shot there again and start climbing up
i go up the ramp, round the corner, and motherfucking captain flynt is standing on the building in the middle

This exact same thing happened to me when doing the matchstick quest!!! It was pretty cool.

I decided to host a game when I first started playing and some level 9 or so dude actually sniped Flynt before we even got to him (got the challenge for the fight).
I'm level 28 with my Krieg and I think I can start drawing some conclusions. He feels a lot like Juggernaut/Master Blaster Brick from the first game, both in pace of play and the feeling of tearing straight through hordes of badguys with little effort but getting stonewalled and roflstomped by bosses.
He definitely takes a while to get going as a character. But throwing the Firehawk shield on him after he has all the recharge delay stuff makes you a walking nuke. I have spent most of the time to this point in the Manic tree, dabbling a bit in each skill therein. I've been playing exclusively solo.
Hang on to the Firehawk, Law and Order. Find a health regen mod, because you're going to need it.
Also, familiarize yourself with the sprint button. Because you'll be using it A LOT. This isn't a guy who can duck behind cover and wait a couple seconds for shields to regen, because he specifically prevents that. You have to be killing quickly if you want to stay up.
wrapped up tundra express, dinged level 54, still using my old shit
gotta figure out how to play this out
the first good farming spot, the exploitation preserve, is coming up
i'm hoping i can stop there and recharge my batteries a little
i also want to pick up two uniques in particular: moxxi's heartbreaker and flame of the firehawk
now, i need to decide if i should get them and resign myself to, at some point, resetting playthrough 3 progress so i can get back and upgrade them again
or skip them and push through
i am hard up for guns right now
i could try blowing some keys, but the odds of getting the things i want seem slim
Well, as of the recent comic "Borderlands: Origins", we got confirmation that Steele was in fact, a Siren. I mean, it means jack-all at this point, but I guess it's nice to know.

EDIT: Arch, that's a nice gun. I got one from the Chest at 9 and now at 21 I'm about to finally pass it to my next character (doesn't do enough damage anymore).
You know, if Gearbox was crafty, they could sell DLC guns that actually level up as your character does (maybe every 5 levels or so). Make them like basically purchasable drops with random stats and whatnot but they increase in level as your character does.

Gearbox (through IDW), put out a 4-issue mini series about the Original Four, regarding how they all ended up on Marcus' bus at the beginning of BL1. I bought the collected edition which was released last week.
It was written by Mikey Neumann, so that's about as close to official as it's going to get, too.

Steele had the markings of a siren in BL1. Also, yeah trust anything one of the writers of the first game, and main reason Burch was hired, writes as canon.

Bah. Health regen is overrated.
Just wait till you're at <33% hp, turn into a Badass Psycho Mutant, heal to full, cleave ALL the heads in, come out of it with Axe Rampage off cooldown.

Oh, I know she had the markings, but since the game never acknowledged it otherwise, I was under the impression it was still up in the air. I figured it had to do with the game being revamped at the last minute; they just didn't get a chance to cover it. But like I said, it doesn't really matter... it's just nice to get confirmation.
The one thing that was kind of odd though was
apparently Lilith had never even kiss a boy before she got on the bus, which she remedied with Roland. That felt a little heavy handed; Lilith/Roland was never set up as some kind of OTP or anything.

I haven't gotten to that point yet, but I am excited for being a badass psycho.
Until then it's all about chopping faces with Law.

It's all about dying at the enemy as hard as you can.
They tried to bury us. They didn't know that we were seeds. 2018 Midterms. Get your shit together.

Also; Law, Order and I just cleared Sawtooth Canyon without shooting at anything but Buzzards (which are pretty much kryptonite, but still).
Krieg really starts taking off in the twenties.
