The other maps are trash and shouldn't be up for consideration. Order doesn't matter too much. I personally prefer Howling Peaks, but I figure people have more of a problem with Howling Peaks than Star City.
(Alternatively, if there's other maps people want to play on that aren't in the beta yet, I can see about getting them published. However that'll require that they are publicly available which is likely not the case for most of the GSL maps we'd want.)

jesus christ, watching whitera play vs phoenix vs muta. even with 7 range phoenixes, the muta speed buff makes it nearly impsosible to completely avoid damage

Isn't that a good thing? Wouldn't want pheonixes to be totally immune to mutas.

When I say you can't avoid damage, I mean when the Zerg goes mass muta and has 30 or 40 of them, you can't engage without losing phoenixes, and if you lose phoenixes 1 for 1 with mass muta you will lose. whitera was playing against a zerg doing exactly that, and if the Zerg hadn't been dumb enough to engage the phoenixes at the end over the top of 3 archons, he would have won, too.

Well according to blizzard, phoenix are meant to be a viable counter for mutas, and that has literally never ever actually been the case.

The Phoenix player always wins per cost and per supply. They also have the faster and stronger unit. Phoenixs counter mutas if you aren't playing catch up.

Which means by Blizzard counter logic (that is, break glass in case of X), phoenixes fail miserably.

I guess people need to use their free hallucination to spot gas timings. Thre's no other reason for a Zerg to be on 6 gas at that point.
hey guys, if i currently have both SEA and NA sc2, and I want to prepurchase HotS. I usually play on NA, but if I want to be able to play on both do I need to upgrade my SEA account and then just use the NA region for HotS? Also, how do I go about getting the beta key, just for upgrading, or did you need to get the digital limited edition version or something?

HotS will have global play, any version can play on any region.
You need to preorder from Amazon to get a beta key.

SNM and Whiplash. SNM has been a big part of the community for awhile, doing a lot of translation stuff. Whiplash was a second tier pro on VT way back. But both are awful at casting.
As to why, it is because Kespa couldn't find anyone else to come live in Korea and cast for them.

HotS is increasing my APM as Protoss for the first time in I don't know how long. Rarely a game goes by where I don't average over 200 ingame, because there's just so much to DO now. Control oracles, activate voidray charges, micro your mothership core, warp prisms as always but now they aren't the ONLY harass option so people often dont defend against them properly, stronger phoenixes, tempest position control.
I hardly ever actually control my army in a battle now, despite the fact that there is stuff to control, because I'm two screens away warping in zealots to attack an expansion and flying in a pair of oracles that I saved from the start and have been gaining energy all game to harass another base.
Random thought popped into my head while watching Taeja vs Bogus tank wars: wouldn't it be really worth it to send a few SCVs to your tank line to keep your tanks repaired? That way you would always win against the opponent trying to creep their tanks forward and slowly whittling you down.

It was really important that TL-EG pick up 3 wins by this set, because now their two worst players are up. I could easily see this going to ace with Dear pulling off the upset win against whoever TL-EG sends.

Yes. It's one of the UI buttons in the bottom left. Believe it is bound to f2 by default.
