That tier III bomber for Japan is neigh indestructable. I had four planes on my six just lighting me up, I hopped into the gunners seat and took out 2 of them. Taking down single engine planes is stupid easy when they are .3 clicks off your ass and flying straight. The other 2 continued following as my gunner kept saying he was reloading, but never reloaded. I eventually tried to bank and they cut off my left elevator and I went for a tumble.
I like this game enough that my wife is already getting mad at me for playing it for 2 days straight lol.
Fat whale, fly straight, give zero fucks.
Best plane.

Yeah the H6K is a beast.
It flies like the Empire State and has a weak bomb load but it soaks a TON of damage and is bristling with MGs.
Which is funny because the H6K was known for being very weak in real combat situations. They start becoming sitting ducks in higher tiers when fighter start packing more cannon.
I hopped into the gunners seat and took out 2 of them.
Wait, this is a thing you can do? How the fuck did I not know this!? Man, that's a lot of fucking gunner kills I've missed out on. Does the plane go into level autopilot when you're in the gunner seat or does it slightly climb like when in the bomber chair?

We can use that dragon rider logo I had commissioned for our squadron patch! I can't link it right now due to lolwork but maybe @DaMoonRulz has it on hand?

I think it's level autopilot. F7 I believe to get into the gunner seat.

Yeah it's F6. The plane goes into a sort of level auto pilot. You can still throttle control/toss open your flaps to slow down quick so you can get closer shots on people.
You can only hop into the rear gunner seat though, unless there is an alt-F6 function to hop around to the different gunners.
I will search for the squadran when I get home and apply.

Sometimes I'm really bad at this game, but then you have those games where you're just racking up kills and you half-heartedly strafe the number one enemy bomber on your way back to the airfield just because they were there, only to see them turn to bring their nose guns to bear on you, and you fly through those rock pillars while bullets chip off pebbles and cut a nice maneuver to line up behind them and light them up with your eight goddamn guns and score a few lucky crits and destroy it before rolling back to the airfield like you planned and you're like, "that's right. You should have just walked away."

You control all the gunners. If the crosshair is in a gunner's firing arc he will fire where you're pointing. If his arc is not within the cross hair the ai will control him.

Now go forth and unload your dakka.
Mother of god.
And now I get to sit here at work jonesing like a motherfucker for some War Thunder. All of our rooms have been rigged up for cable service however and I suggested "hey guys, you do realize this means we can have cable modems in our rooms, right?" So hopefully I'll be back online soon. Otherwise I'm gonna be gone for six months.

Oh Christ, 6 months? That is a situation calling for some supreme MacGyverism. Godspeed, sir.
The Beaufort is great for tailgunning fun because the upper turret is a 2x 12.7mm machine gun (most bomber turret guns at that tier are 7.62 mm) so you can really chew up enemy planes, especially if they are dumb enough to fly level and fairly close. I've had plenty of games where i've completed a bombing run, hopped on the tail gun and killed two separate pursuers while my bombs are reloading, its loads of fun. Your plane will definitely fly level though so make sure you aren't aimed at a mountain or something.
He's in all Reserve planes in that round, so hush, you :P
Also, he got about 1/3rd of all the ground targets, yo

We had a ridiculously awesome round of Operation Beached Whale right after you left. We had two H6Ks. IIRC one of them got shot down after a few landings. I lasted the whole match and the final tally was 6 planes shot down and about 5-6 landings.
The chat was going wild, one RDDT guy was even trying to emulate us but got shot down. I even had a 1000kg bomb ready to drop if he tried again (nobody tried to bomb us). :P The downed aircrafts by my gunners were mostly biplanes, but it seriously helps to have prior experience with manual gunnery in these situations. Got me a nice 19k lions in the end.
Space Engine videos with appropriate music. Enjoy.
The H6K that was destroyed was me. I headed over to the enemy airstrip completely separated from friendly aircraft and one of the enemy decided it would be prudent to empty all of his rockets into my bomber.

He's been dealing with Tier 2-3 stuff in his biplanes, so I'd agree outscoring the entire team (combined) in ground targets is a solid performance. :P Not to mention I have so much fun dogfighting in biplanes that I forget to do...pretty much anything else, so he's being more helpful to the team.
Man, I wish we had the numbers to try a private match like that. Crazy asymmetrical gimmick fights are a blast if you're playing with cool people, even something like an AI bomber escort mission with Oosiks.
We should consider that when we manage to get a couple squads flying at once.
I always seem to lose the games where I go 7 - 0 in a P40 or Spitfire or Hurricane. Apparently I am clutch to not having my team fail at objectives.
Also, I am a bit disappointed with the Stuka Gs. The cannons do not work very well versus ground targets, especially since I am terrible at judging distances and can't tell where my convergence is as a result. I end up having to use them as they were not intended historically.
...blowing up an A-20 in 1 trigger pull ( it is, however, pretty awesome). Oh, you fly at 500 km/s and take a beating like an masochist? How do you like two 37 mm cannon rounds? Not very much, apparently.
I'm just plain terrible. I can't seem to hit anything with my bombs and I absolutely suck at trying to keep an enemy plane in my sights as a fighter. (I use mouse control)

The 37mm is quite good against armor. Just aim for the backs and sides and tops. I like to set my convergence to something like 800-1000m when engaging ground targets to make targeting.
Also remember that only half your belt is APHE. The other half will not penetrate so it will probably take two pulls of the trigger to kill a tank.
Also I find the 37mm is over kill on lighter targets as the rounds will sail right through the target with out the fuse going off.
I've been gradually clawing my way up the tiers with the RAF for awhile, and decided to shake it up a bit by starting on Soviet aircraft. I like how biplane-tier combat feels pretty different from the more advanced stuff. It holds up surprisingly well on its own.
That said, I also like that the Beaufighters' outputs can be measured in liters of dakka per second. Decisions...
One of the biggest things I need to work on is not getting into head-ons and if someone is trying to get on my tail, to not kick in the elevators in a way that let's them fire right into my cockpit.

Yeah but I've had someone knacker two engines and I still fly on without significant issues.
Yes, that Stuka died from a tail gunner. I just sat there with the biggest grin on my face as my poor battered plane just kept on going.

Lost both of my best fighters in a round from the first second of enemy fire knocking out my pilots. What bullshit.
