Golden Eagles. They give out 100 GEs for the 2nd ang 5th wins, as well as 200 more for the 10th. But it's only a few hours you can do it in and it's almost over by now. They said because of the attack they'll do it again next Sunday.
Space Engine videos with appropriate music. Enjoy.
Also, one of the MOST important things for you to know is that the Gunner crew skills are ONLY for AI gunners. They do not improve your gunnery in a fighter, and if you manually switch to the gunner view, you don't get the skill bonuses.
It's best to have one or two crews dedicated to bombers if you enjoy them because the XP requirements can be so costly. Hundreds for additional experienced gunners.
So I was playing some mission and I have a rear gunner but he doesn't seem to shoot at anything and I have to take manual control. Is there some way to activate AI so it'll shoot?
Sent in my application. Pilot name is Bolthorn_kvlt there because someone beat me to Bolthorn. Still have so many things I need to figure out about this game. I do prefer mouse flight. Is that truly the best way?
Only if you plan to play Historical Battles (pretty much mandatory for FRB) does using a stick become an option, unless you don't mind flipflopping between stick and mouse for maneuvering and aiming. Most of your dogfights will be spent manually manipulating your planes control surfaces to get you pointing at the enemy plane, then aiming with the mouse. Stalling isn't a factor, so jamming your elevator/rudder/Ailerons to their max will make you turn faster, with the bonus of getting to swivel the camera anywhere you want while you're doing it without needing to hold down C.
They took down my AB operations! BOOO! Right when I finally upgraded my BF 109 F4 with gun pods.
I'm a huge fan of the double HB events, especially the "how it began" one with biplanes that they rotated in recently. It's a good mix of AB and HB, getting rid of the annoying bits of both (homogenized superplanes from AB, tedious take-off-and-climb from HB) and I hope they do more like it. Plus it has 3 respawns, so you don't get punished too badly in the fragile biplanes.
I'd like to see this ruleset again, plus forced cockpit view in other HB events. Mouse aim is still workable in the cockpit, but it's not the (relatively) clear advantage over stick. Maneuvering and using freelook through the canopy to spot enemies is SO FUN but gets your ass shot up if everyone else uses third-person.

Ugh, getting connected to a match is like nailing jello to the ceiling tonight. Tried four bouts and none of them made it all the way through before the connection dropped. Bunch of others where the server just went "nope!"
And naturally, one of the matches had a really determined TKer and the other had a cloud deck at ground level on a mountainous ground-attack map...
I dunno if I'll even like the Korean war-era jets if I ever get to that point. The slower pace of dogfighting in Tier 2-3 has been the most consistent fun, whereas 6-7 pushes into more BnZ territory, which is a PITA in Arcade.
Although now that I've gotten my hands on some Bf 109s, I'm learning the fun of energy fighting...

American planes are what got me hooked on it. Coming in like a bat out of hell, unleashing a salvo of death and destruction, and then hauling ass out of the area screaming NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE is too much fun.
So, I've either gotten better or I'm constantly lumped into games with terrible people. Only played a few rounds yesterday but was 2nd place on my team, whether we won or lost. Now, I'm not typing this to brag. I'm just curious if this is what others are finding or am I just getting really lucky? Is it because I'm only rank 4? I'm just trying to figure out if I'm actually any good or not. Because I still feel like I have no idea what I'm actually doing most of the time.
The game is quite fun though. Not sure I can sit and play it as long as I sometimes play MW:O though. Time will tell I suppose.
Also, should I just keep buying new planes as they are available and moving my crews to them or should I be leveling up the planes I do have?
I just got in to this game a few days ago, so it's nice to see PAers playing as well. I've applied to the squad ingame (same name) - do you guys group up over vent/ts?
That is seriously god damn gorgeous and the tanks having proper damage models instead of WoT's bullshit HP system is absolutely fantastic. I cannot wait for the tanks to go public so that I can play the shit out of them.

not having to deal with wargamings shitty upgrade system is what has me the most excited lol.

Pretty much everything in WoT mechanics wise is just poop from a butt. The only thing they've really got going for them is the fact that they had no real competition. Once War Thunder launches their ground combat it'll be entertaining to see what happens to WoT because fucking nobody plays World of Warplanes due to it being complete shit compared to War Thunder
It takes a little bit to get used to his Spanish accent (I think Jingles said) but this guy is a serious propeller head and has a great grasp of the game and combat tactics. He even has a series of videos for Combat Flight School.

Required reminder that this studio is absolutely not above WoT level of bullshit.
Star Conflict makes me wary to put any money into this game at all.
Also I have a code for the premium Brit bi-plane, debating whether to use it myself or give it to one of you guys who plays more.

Yeah, same here but even though Gaijin has its name on Star Conflict it's a totally different dev team working on it. I'm really surprised at the quality difference between the two games though. You'd think Gaijin would have kicked the SC devs in the dick and told them to stop ruining their game and pissing off the players but it hasn't happened. Meanwhile War Thunder is a very fun game that doesn't feel like every update wants to just kick you in the dick progressively harder. I've thrown some money at War Thunder due to the amount of time I've sunk into it but I'm definitely not gonna do anything silly until I see how the ground combat progresses.
I got the Steam Pack (both single player campaigns/1700 eagles/month of premium/special A6M5 ko Zero/special XP-38 Lightning for 25 on steam) and the Mustang pack (special P51 Mustang/two weeks premium/2000 eagles for 20 on steam) and I have absolutely no regrets. Used them eagles to add crew slots and get another few premium planes.

Well, lets just say I've put money into this game.
Maybe not as much as the money I flushed into WoT though.

Yeah, I swung for the Steam packs and threw the Eagles at crew upgrades for the most part. Having a maxed vitality for your pilot is just way too handy.

Fire the Star Conflict guys. From a cannon. That they can escape by paying significant money to only have to grind 1000 hours rather than 10,000.
I feel like I'm kind of hitting a wall at Tier 8-9. Americans get the P-47 at 8, which is garbage in AB until you can upgrade it with ground strike capability, and the Brits get...another Spitfire, roughly the same as the one they get in Tier 6, and a Wellington. Wooo (and that's literally all they get until 10).
It looks like I'll be hiding out in Tier 6-7 until I can afford the Lions to spec out Americans. And the Brits have literally no reason to leave 6-7 until, what, 12 or 13?

Hey, anything you can walk away from...
The Japanese Medium bomber is so agile, you can do a loop and hit the person behind you with your tail and live.

Anyone interested in that premium bi-plane?
That and it's probably still profitable.
