All video on internet stuttering

Noticed it on Youtube first but it doesn't matter what browser I'm using, the video plays normally for about a second, then starts stuttering. It's buffering as normal, but the playback is really slow, with no sound. Any ideas?

    I dunno how likely this is, but could you check Task Manager and see if TrustedInstaller.exe happens to be taking up a ton of CPU? There were Windows updates today and one of them happens to be the type that makes that process use a crapload of CPU until it finally finishes whatever it's doing. The most obvious sign of this (to me anyway) is... you guessed it... videos stuttering. Now, the "no sound" bit makes it sound like it's not that since typically the video just plays back jerkily and/or slowly, but I just figured I'd ask since I literally just deal with this. Those updates are fairly rare, but it's annoying when they happen.

    Relatedly, how long has this been happening?

    it can also be related to your graphics drivers; adobe has some really wacky issues with their hardware acceleration.

    it's been happening on and off for the last few days, started maybe a week ago? But sometimes it's fine. It affects livestreams, Youtube, Gametrailers, and I've tried Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox. Also tried some fixes relating to the Edit Cookies plugin for Chrome but it didn't seem to help.

    I'm running windows 8 on a reasonably decent Desktop PC by the way.

    I've noticed the same problem on my Windows 8 PC over the last week or so. I thought my Internet connection was on the blink... But it all seems good. Videos are still stuttering or even buffering up to so far and then totally stopping for loading

    Do you have another PC (Phone?) to try? I'm curious if it's every device using your connection or just your main PC.

    Weirdly its all working fine now, I didnt change a thing!
