When we say "adventure game" we're talking about games like this, right?
No? Fine.
Given the content of the comic itself, are you planning on toning down the language / violence / blasphemy / baby-punching edgyness of the PA universe, or is the game going to be just as raw as the comic?

I don't have an ego so much as a gaping maw of need, an unslakable thirst for the approval of others, which only knows transient satisfaction through the process of having other people visit my website. Perhaps you will choose to do so.
Is each episode going to be the end of a story with some dangling plot threads (like the Sam and Max episodes) or are you guys going to end right in the middle of a story, presumably through a huge cliffhanger (like Half Life Episode 1)?
I know you just said you hate comparisons but this is the best way I could phrase it.

I'd probably play the shit out of that. That's hilarious.

each episode is a story from start to finish but they will lead into each other. We may do that with a cliffhanger sort of situation but I'm not sure yet.
We’ve seen the Tommy-Gun and Fisticuffs; Are these going to stick with the characters throughout, or will you progressively acquire new weapons, armor, etc. in the RPG vein. If so I’m hoping the characters models change to match, because I love those little touches
3) Have you guys thought about how weird will it be when other sites scrutinize the hell out of your game?)
Plenty of people already give us shit about the stuff we make. I'm not sure this will be any different. Some people will love it some people will hate it. Like I said before, all we've ever done is try to make the best stuff we can.
I think it goes without saying that a lot of PA readers have high expectations for this game since you guys really comprehend the subtle, special nuances that make good games great... and shit like that. G&T have the special ability to look at things through the eyes of gamers (i.e. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2001/12/24) and it seems like players will expect the same attention detail in the creation process of RSPD. Does this kind of pressure take away any of the fun from the entire process? How much of the stress of something this big is related to pleasing PA fans?
All that being said, the trailer alone made my mouth and pants water. Looks great and I'm sure the final product will be fruit fuckingly fantastic!
I'd also like to say that it's cool you're involving the forums again - we know you occasionally pop into the new comic thread, and a couple other threads, but usually you just shun us. (with good reason)
My question: Don't know if this has already been addressed, but, either you or Tycho said that you won't be having "random invisible enemy battles", like the fight system of many FF games.
Do you plan to adopt something similar to FF12, or do you have a unique idea of your own?

It's true we do feel a lot of preasure to make something good. We know people are expecting something specail and we want to deliver that. I can't give it too much thought though becasue it would be paralyzing. There's about 4 million of you guys. If I start thinking about pleasing everyone I'll go insane:)

I kidd I kidd. I'm out of questions, I am going to keep quiet until there is more info. I do support some bloggage maybe with some concept art every few months to keep us salivating.
Will you be trying to make it as seamless as possible between the 2D cutscenes and the 3D and be trying to make it as close to possible as the comic or will you be trying to go for a more different style?
Edit: Also will there be any poking fun at Kurtz and co.? Perhaps through mentionings of the war with the Pandas?

What I mean is: I'm hoping you guys plan to design the game to your artistic integrity, as we've all seen how flawed a game can be when it's just a money making scheme, or it's pushed out too early due to itchy publishers.

What sort o0f control scheme are we looking at here? Are we looking at a Diablo style point 'n' click ('n' click 'n' click 'n' click 'n' click) system, or a third-person WSAD/EDSF + mouse control system, or both, or neither? In either case, will we have the option of using a gamepad?
And finally, will the game support and make full use of my USB lava lamp?

Hola Dudefella:
I kept seeing questions on the first episodes length being dodged, but can you reveal the proposed number of episodes?
What inspired the Noir/Steampunk setting (is it inspired by the "Boneyard" of ideas from book 2 like SAND, et al)? Were there any other setting ideas like CTS or Armadeaddon that might have been?
Nonsequitor: Podcast, even one about the game? Please?
MOD Suggestion: Stickying the thread when it's over, or making an FAQ of the answers.

that's a good question. This answer will probably not help but here it is. We decided on the story we wanted to tell (it's a story we've been kicking around a long time) and that dictated the setting.

I have a few questions of m'own, but first I want to say thanks for fielding our questions!
1) Can we expect to see Kara and Brenna? If so, will we see them in a captive fashion a la "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure"?
2) What about Charles? Will he be friend, foe, or just an apple lovin' son of a bitch?
3) Have you guys thought about how weird will it be when other sites scrutinize the hell out of your game?)

Hey! I can see Charles in the trailer! He's in a picture frame, doing what appears to be "flying a plane."

How much will PA memes play a roll in the game? Or will it be limited to easter eggy type stuff? If at all?
Are there concrete plans for more episodes, or is the title more or less a placeholder for the possibility?
Will there be landmarks from the PA world, such as the bench, and the neighborhood of houses arranged in a giant wing-wong?

Is Tycho doing all of the writing and story-telling in the game, or are you bringing in anyone else; such as a writer for Hot Head? Also, if Tycho is doing it all by his lonesome, is there perhaps a novel in the Think Tank?
