Moved in with MY GIRLFRIEND and her roommate: best decision ever, new apartment is cleaner/in a better neighborhood than the old one, everyone gets along well and generally shares out chores and stuff really well.
Lost my job due to "lack of work" / owners selling the company : On the one hand it kind of sucks, but freelance work is slowly picking up and I don't have to leave the house at 6:00 AM and get back at 7:00 PM thanks to a horrible commute. 2013 is going to be the year of building up clients.
Thankfully no real medical disasters and the family has been pretty stable. Acute lack of money has me a little worried.

Favorite movie of the year: Didn't actually watch a whole bunch of movies this year, I enjoyed Skyfall and Brave.
Shows: Kids on the Slope? Again, didn't watch a whole lot of TV either.
Game: Even though I spent like 400 hours playing Diablo 3, I actually have fonder memories of my 40-something hours with X-COM. Really should get Dishonoured at some point.

Settled in with current job. Kicked ass. Believe I will stay here for the long haul.
Obtained and kept a girlfriend (third and hopefully final), who will be moving in with me in 2013.
Nothing seriously negative happened all year. Best year of my life, upward trending into 2013 which I suspect will be the first year of the rest of my life

The bad- lost both my grandparents on my mom's side, an aunt on my dad's, and my dog. Got turned down by all the girls I asked out.
One day your doorbell is going to ring and you look through the peephole only to find some kind of weird balloon knot obscuring your view.
Got back into dating after an 8 year hiatus. I also got a job with the government and I'm closer to graduating from college (after almost 12 years). So this year has instantly been better than the last 8.
Movie: Not sure, I enjoyed the Avengers, the newest Batman, Skyfall.
Game: Kerbal Space Program
Shows: The girl and I started and finished watching Louie and Wilfred.

OH MY GOD I CAN'T WAIT
- Saw a great girl for a few months, ended amiably between us
- Left job in Oregon due to not wanting to be there anymore.
- Left Portland due to not wanting to be there anymore.
- Moved back to San Francisco
- Found a great apartment in the city with a roommate who I don't hate and went to college with
- Got an amazing new job that pays roughly 4 times what I made in Oregon
- Made a bunch of new friends
- Went to both PAXes and everyone was lovely
- Visited Kochi/Dave in Amsterdam and that was a blast
- Stepmom had a stroke, Mom is probably going into rehab for alcoholism soon, Dad/Bro are on high blood pressure medicine way too early in their lives
- Finally got my knee checked out to find lots of really bad problems. Hopefully getting fixed completely in 2013
Favorite movie of the year: Didn't see many movies this year but I liked Batman and the Hobbit
Shows: Started watching Happy Endings this year, best choice.
Game: I've not played many games this entire year now. Journey and GW2 were both fun though.
Overall this year has been absolutely awesome, probably one of the best I've ever had.
