I don't know much about what it is you're doing aside from asking how excited or upset people can get, but one of my own motivations is that I have mild-major depression, and playing games keeps me focused on positive outcomes rather than laying on my bed, staring at the wall and thinking of ways to die. I've had this disorder for a very long time, I've been playing video games since I was a little girl and video games to me are therapeutic.

Well, I don't have a preference. I can play a shooter with blood and gore everywhere or where rainbows come out of the gun and your enemies turn into skittles when you shoot them. Doesn't matter to me as long as the gameplay is solid.

I mean, on the one hand, there's no violence occurring on screen. On the other, I just executed all of my brothers, all of their sons, I married the best of their wives and executed the rest, and then I invaded Sicily. Also, I torture prisoners for fun.

Yeah--I haven't been interested in games based on their violence levels since the early 90's, when being able to show realistic human-type characters bleeding was both cutting edge technology, and a taboo for at-home vidya games.

I just feel like that question is worded in a way to goad a specific type of answer out of this survey which makes me wonder how legit this whole thing really is.

Whether a game is violent or not has literally no bearing on my decision when I buy a game, so I have no idea how to answer this.
