    Done!
I don't know much about what it is you're doing aside from asking how excited or upset people can get, but one of my own motivations is that I have mild-major depression, and playing games keeps me focused on positive outcomes rather than laying on my bed, staring at the wall and thinking of ways to die. I've had this disorder for a very long time, I've been playing video games since I was a little girl and video games to me are therapeutic.

I'm filling this out now but the questions do not have enough answer choices. Example: Please mark below how violent you prefer the content and graphics in the video games you play to be:

Well, I don't have a preference. I can play a shooter with blood and gore everywhere or where rainbows come out of the gun and your enemies turn into skittles when you shoot them. Doesn't matter to me as long as the gameplay is solid.

Survey is filled out. I'd definitely be interested to see the results in a couple months.

How the heck do I even rate the level of violence in Crusader Kings II?

I mean, on the one hand, there's no violence occurring on screen. On the other, I just executed all of my brothers, all of their sons, I married the best of their wives and executed the rest, and then I invaded Sicily. Also, I torture prisoners for fun.

Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.

Seeing as I put down Hotline Miami as one of my most recently played games

I feel like this vastly skewed the results of my test...

I had Saints Row on mine...I feel picking up hookers and shooting gang members and policemen may cast me in a poor light.

High violent content, low violent graphics

    I don't get this question:

    5/8
Please mark below how violent you prefer the content and graphics in the video games you play to be:

Whether a game is violent or not has literally no bearing on my decision when I buy a game, so I have no idea how to answer this.

That's what Raijin was saying up the page a bit. Yeah, it's an odd one.

I just picked middle on that one.

Yeah--I haven't been interested in games based on their violence levels since the early 90's, when being able to show realistic human-type characters bleeding was both cutting edge technology, and a taboo for at-home vidya games.

I personally took that to mean how violent you want your general gameplay experience to be

which is still kinda iffy because I expect something different from say mass effect 3 than I would from say minecraft

    so yeah middle option

  • FalxFalx Registered User regular
Ah you can leave it blank, gonna do that since I cannot answer it at all.

I just feel like that question is worded in a way to goad a specific type of answer out of this survey which makes me wonder how legit this whole thing really is.

or there might actually be people who prefer violent video games over stuff like tetris, that could be possible.

It's already been covered apparently but my issue wasn't with the question it was with the lack of an answer to say that I don't care if there is violence in a game.

I often feel like taking to the bottle after I finish a game of League of Legends.
