Man thinking back to the days where I'd obsessively toil over a shit game that would undoubtedly go nowhere, I remember how I was basically 100% sure absolutely no one actually purchased the software

Seriously though, I remember back to RPG Maker II or somesuch and spending hours creating enemies and bosses and the starter town...then never pick it up again.

I made various WC3 and Starcraft maps that were RPGs. I've debated getting RPG maker software just for the hell of it. I love little pet writing projects and video games.

Wow, now there's a blast from the past

Looked up the newest RPG Maker to see if any interesting games were made with it and found that apparently some of the dudes from gamingw.net are still kicking around

Not that it surprises me, but it's kinda cool to see those names again

I think To The Moon was made with an RPG maker-esque engine.

    It was fantastic.

I will buy this RPG maker and remake FF8 in a 2D sprite based manner. First I will need a kickstarter so that I can buy the software (£25) and afford to deal with the endless lawsuits from Squareenix (£100k).

So I saw The Thing for the first time last night.

It's now my second-favorite horror film. It was just so damn good. I might have to watch it again soon, see if I can catch hints for some of the developments.

Old Euclid drew a circle on a sand beach, long ago
He bound it and enclosed it with angles, thus and so

His set of solemn greybeards nodded and argued much
of arc and of circumference; diameter and such.

A silent child stood by them, from morning until noon
because they drew such charming round pictures of the moon.

My parents have installed speakers in the walls during their house extension. They have utterly failed at doing this well so it's very hard to hear the television when sat on the couch but it's incredibly loud and annoying if you're in the kitchen.

Joe O'Connor in National Post on Canadian babies Don't think you're immune from Ross Douthat's baby shortage panic, Canadians. Conservatives' thirst for young blood transcends borders. "Happy couples that choose not to have kids are, at root, well, let’s see: selfish," writes Joe O'Connor.
Amity Shlaes at Bloomberg View on how sexual harassment improves the workplace Sometimes it takes a little sexual harassment to keep companies creative, argues Amity Shlaes. "There are two kinds of companies in the U.S.: square ones and wild ones," Shlaes writes. "The wild type, common in venture capital, does everything differently, starting with the open office. Over the years, creative rebels have often behaved poorly in their creative workplaces. Do most of us approve? Hardly ... But creative environments boast an advantage." Unwanted advances—that's what really drives our economy.

    I got one.

    It's very easy to use.

The internet works great and there is a netflix app for it.

Edit: I'm not sure how much your dad is into apps/games, but the Amazon App Store offers a random paid app for free every day, so tell him to check!
