one day I'll play FF VII and spend hours trying to get a golden chocobo. It's pretty far down the list, though.
Have to finish up Anachronox, go through Arcanum (maybe), work on the rest of the Dragon Warrior series, then there's about ten Ultima games, a handful in the Baldur's Gate franchise ...
Do you need the Golden Chocobo to get KOTR? I never finished FF7 but I did get KOTR so I'm curious if I ever did do all that chocogrinding.

The Midgar Zolom (The snake in the swamp) Isn't all that bad to fight on your first time through if you know what you're doing. You just need someone in the back row with elemental fire materia'd armor with enemy skill ready to take the beta when he drops to half health and then beta him back to kill him and then use beta to blow up the whole first disk and part of the second disk.
