I don't want to go look up the silly Izzet deck I built. It's not quite as fast as the ones y'all are posting, but was consistent in delivering two 11/3 Wee Dragonauts to the face by about turn 5.

Agree times a billion. Though Thallids (Saprolings, really) have made appearances in a lot of sets post-Empires. Thrulls too to a limited extent, thanks to the Orzhov in Ravnica. Mourning Thrull is a wonderful card that immediately went into my Thrull deck x4. Hominids not so much, which is a bit surprising since crab-people are a cool concept.

Heh. I had a green deck that I loved in Mirage block but didn't play competitively because if it didn't win in the first few turns that was it. It had no late game except for a couple Winter Orbs and the desperate Overrun attempt.
