Hey chochachos! So I was reading the Steam thread earlier this week and what to my wondering eyes should appear but:
(as in, I was reading the thread and the little "you joined 5 years ago today" thing came up)
Of course, what followed from there was "I should do some giveaways!" Here are 4 of my 5-star, must-play, private reserve games for you. Stay classy, Steam thread/forums. (Yes, there's a fifth one, but I guess SteamGifts has some limiting stuff built in and I need to accrue class before I can post the last one.)
The best AssCreed of them all? Probably. Recruit minions to do your murdering, take over Rome, fight the Pope.
It's hard to think of a better way to encapsulate this game than CheesecakeRecipe's post from a past Steam thread. If you have ever enjoyed Twin Peaks or a Stephen King novel, this is practically mandatory.
The best Batman game on Earth, dawn of time - fall 2011.
Maybe the best Mass Effect of the bunch. Introduces Mordin Solus, the best scientist of all scientists. I'm Commander Shepherd, and this is my favorite game on the Citadel.
Now for a The Witcher: Enhanced Edition giveaway! If you're interested in entering just write me a PM telling me why you'd like the game and you're ready to go!
Anno 2070 is worth a look if you like RTS civilization builder games. There is a little bit of combat that I haven't explored much yet, but it seems more focused on the building of production chains and levelling up your civilization. I'm going to probably add the DLC once the dailies roll over, but if you don't mind fighting the interface a little bit to figure out whats going on, it's a very pretty game with a decent story and some seriously complex production chains.
I have been looking at Anno so fiercely this entire sale. I wanted Dawn of Discovery for the longest time and lucked out this summer by finding a physical copy cheap at Fred Meyer/Kroger. Such a good game.
The only thing holding me back is that I want the complete pack and the $40 price point is above my impulse threshold because I see that dollar value and think "for that price I can get Witcher 2, Sins Rebellion, and some more gifts."
How are the Devil May Cry games on PC? I'm wondering if either one of them is worth picking up for some hack&slash fun.
DMC4 is a great port, arguably the best Capcom has put out (though it doesn't have much competition). DMC3's port is pretty awful. Performance issues it had at launch are by now no longer much of an issue for most people, but it was just a very sloppy port in general.

Native pad support? Because man... I'm probably going to grab this again in that case.

Yeah, worked wonderful with a wireless 360 pad, no setup required.
I've been a long while since I've done a forum giveaway, but here's something special that's been hiding in my gift inventory. Today only, a ghost of Steam Christmas past:
"I've Won too many games on Steam to not do this and feel bad"
giveaway!
My only criteria for the games I selected for this are they have to be games I've played in the past year that I really enjoyed. So here we go!
So enter away and I hope in some small way this helps me be a classy gent too. My avatar could use a monocle and top hat, but I haven't quite earned it yet.
Disco11 Thank you so much for the gift of The Binding Of Isaac Collection, Heatwave thank you for the gift of the Alan Wake Franchise, and vegeta_666 for Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition and Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (take you time on getting the keys if it's a problem.
Oh snap, the original Doom 3 is back on Steam. I'm honestly wondering if that pack will stick around after the sale.
Also, well played, Ubisoft. AssCreed III and Far Cry 3 both on sale?
I'm also wondering if the deluxe version of FC3 is worth it, but at least it seems like it's not just stuff that can be unlocked in-game or via Uplay points.
I told myself I would buy Far Cry 3 this sale, knowing it wouldn't be more than 25% off. That was before all these wonderful games got added to my backlog though. I think I'll pass this time around. Gotta keep something to look forward to for future sales.
I dunno, Ubisoft is pretty stingy about discounts early on. They even still held AssCreed Rev at 66 percent during the franchise special. And the game appears to be selling pretty well.
Thanks a bunch @Fanda for the surprise gift of Capsized on Christmas day. With all the holiday stuff going on with kids and work and all I'm finally getting around to a proper thanks in the thread here. Keep it classy guys!
And @Vicktor fired back with Atom Zombie Smasher! I imagine it involves accelerating the undead to near-relativistic speeds in a circular tunnel in order to unlock the secrets of the universe. Or maybe shooting and blowing them up, that's fun too. Thank you sir!

I'm no mathematician, but it seems as if the Far Cry Franchise Pack is cheaper if you buy the components separately.
Too bad this deal didn't pop up sooner. I would have jumped on top of it, but alas my budget is blown beyond repair. I am but a spectator and social commentator for the balance of the Great Sale.
2008, 2012, 2014 D&D "Rare With No Sauce" League Fantasy Football Champion!
I just bought both Warhammer and Sins of a Solar Empire, haven't touched either because I've been busy trying to learn Cid Meyer's Alpha Centauri, and I'm still a little bit tempted to buy Age of Empires 3. Darn it all, I'm usually better about this! Well...marginally better, at least.

Still valid! I may be one of those crazy people who think that the original Witcher is way better than Witcher 2, but maybe there's someone out there who hasn't played it yet and wants to give it a try.

Holy Shit thanks! You probably don't realize how much that is worth in trading, that can go for almost 2-3x what it cost at the time in the store. Props!

Overall I'm thinking I'll wait another year.
@verbel gets a key for Shadow of Chernobyl! (watch out for the mutant dogs)
And @Dyvim gets a key for Homefront, soon as I can find a way to message him!

If you know about the genre and have a gamepad, in my opinion DMC4 is a very fine Hack & Slash.

You guys caused this with your classiness.
I had almost lost faith in The Newell, but I see now that this was my failing and not His.
