So I don't think I need Xcom enough to do the hoop jumping my banks require me to do to use Green Man Gaming. When I ordered Borderlands 2 from them it ended up only working with paypal and my debit card and even then, it ended up with my bank locking the card until I went into a branch.
First try purchasing didn't work and I learned my lesson last time.
The most impressive thing so far is Just Cause 2 as #7 top seller. By now I would expect everyone and their mothers to have it, and for it to come preinstalled in laptops.
I see the continuing sales of Just Cause 2 as a sign that Windows 7 adoption is continuing apace.
Somehow SWAT tactics came up in conversation, so I head to Steam to install Republic Commando to demonstrate the awesome door breaching. But, wait, it's not in my library! I had bought it on a compact disc! Thus the game is inaccessible until I return from this Christmas vacation. :-(
I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER! I ask how a game is, and in response of "How's it play?" I get it gifted instead. Thank you so much @Elin for Port Royale 2, I shall let you know how it is!

Out of nowhere @AnteCantelope giftes me Saints Row 3 with all the DLC! Classin this joint right up he is. Thanks a lot mano what a guy.
Congratulations to @SmokeStacks for winning my Saints Row: The Third Full Package giveaway!
I have a runner's up prize prepared for one of the entrants, which I determined through an online roulette. I'll send it to them once I catch them online.

Yeah, this has happened to my quite a bit. So much so that I am scared to ask cause I don't want this to happen:
Someone spends money on a game and I actually not enjoy it. I'd appreciate the generosity, obviously, but would feel bad that they wasted money on me and it doesn't get used properly. It's one reason I didn't put X-Com on my wishlist. That game's been pretty expensive, I've seen people getting it gifted, and I don't think I'd enjoy it. I may be wrong and may get it, but at the price it is now, it's not worth it.
Edit:
So far every game I've been gifted I've enjoyed.
Except Bad Rats. I'm not going to be like @CorriganX and admit to liking Bad Rats.

I too was hit by the S.S. @Elin with a volley of Port Royale 2. It's a raid!
A hearty thank you to @Professor Snugglesworth for his gift of Saints Row 3 Full Package! Such class this community possesses.
However, this tale does not end so simply, as the moment before I could enter the key @AnteCantelope gifted me the Saints Row 3 Full Package, unknowingly doubling my Saints Row 3 gifting inventory! He had originally planned on buying the DLC for SR3 for himself, as he has Saints Row 3 but no DLC, but instead chose to spend his hard earned money on gifting me a game, Saints Row 3, with all of the DLC.
So, in a return gesture, I gifted the Saints Row 3 Full Package (which has Saints Row 3 as well as all of the DLC) that I got from Professor Snugglesworth to AnteCantelope so that he could experience all of the Saints Row 3 DLC because he sacrificed his ability to get the DLC (which he doesn't have, but now does have) for Saints Row 3 (which he does have) so that I could partake in the awe and mystery of Saints Row 3 plus all of the DLC (which I now have), and for that, I will love him forever. Think of it sort of like The Gift of the Magi, only not really.
Yeah, I know what you're all thinking, there are more twists and turns in this story than a soap opera!
Anyway, thank you kindly to both the ever so classy Snugglesworth and Ante for bringing me not only the gifts of Saints Row 3 Full Package (including all of the DLC), but for warming my heart on this cold winter's night. You guys are amazing.

Well, I just gave it to you for funsies, but since I ended up using the winner's key for the DLC, I felt a bit bad, so I gave a copy of the complete pack to all the entrants.
My husband just stopped even pretending to care about missions in SR3, he's now randomly going around town causing mayhem.
I enjoy the missions a lot. Some of them are so damn kooky. For example, Zimos' introduction.
I just run around and beat the shit out of EVERYONE with the Dildo Bat.

oh man I was torn between grabbing xcom or dark souls... even though I already have dark souls. Just because they're both on sale and I don't want to spend too much in one purchase.
but that greenmangaming deal made the decision for me. xcom is mine.

Or crush everything with a tank, or blow everything up with a VTOL, or blow everything up with a helicopter or remote control a car and run people over or drone strike pedestrians or...

I'm finding that Saints Row 3 has a lot of legs once you basically unlock everything. When you've gotten to the point that your weapons are maxed out, you don't have to worry about reloads and you've got unlimited grenades? That is the Webster's Dictionary definition of fun. Just make sure you don't make yourself invincible or disable rag-dolling, you still want a little bit of a challenge
Strafing a group of gang members just standing around in the VTOL is spectacular as well, pure Saints Row.
Thanks to @President Rex for the gift of FTL! You will be offered a position on the The Timid Velociraptor's maiden voyage, which will almost certainly end in wailing and gnashing of teeth. So, dubious honor?

I keep meaning to make this my Steam rec of it from what I posted back when I first played it: Every time I think Saints Row 3 has hit the limit, it ups the ante riding the previous ante like a horse which it has just set on fire. And that was well after Zimos.
i've been following this forum for a little over 6 months now and noticed everyone giving gifts so i thought i'd make an account finally and gift a couple people myself, but upon entering the chat room i am immediately banned by drake/ ante so i guess that won't be happening now . never once asked for a group invite or anything, just said hi and wanted to gift a couple extras i had. i know it's not a direct representation of everyone here because i've personally seen all of the generosity here but some of your members seem to think your club is an elite special clique or something , oh well.

G&T chat is for members who have an established presence on the forums. The main Penny-Arcade chat room is open to any members I believe, or atleast a little more lax but really, expecting to get into G&T chat with little involvement on the forums or with the people here is a tad silly. Stick around and you'll get in, sure.

You were asked to link your profile so that we'd know you were from the forums, but you didn't. The Adventure Team group is set up for games that are older and therefor more difficult to find other players for, but it has a secondary function of being a group that is used to giveaways because it is more closely vetted than the main group (we have had a lot of problems in the past with giveaways that were meant for forum users being snatched up by people who didn't have forum accounts).
Jumping in during the middle of a sale seemed a little suspicious, especially since you didn't let anyone know that you were from the forums, so you were kicked, then kicked again, and then finally banned from the chat.
If you're interested in being a part of the community, than stick around for a while and post in the thread or join us for some multiplayer sometime, this will make it clear that you're interested in participating in the community and are not just here to snatch gifts. I'd recommend getting an avatar and also stopping by here and getting a forum signature (or at least providing a link to your steam account in your signature), this way people can see who you are.
I hope this experience hasn't soured your opinion of us, and for what it's worth, welcome to the forums.

Tell me how it is? I'm curious about it, but not in a rush to get it right away.
Little Tuxedo Mask there could a little monocle because this man is a gent.
Oh man.... goddamn...
Its probably not going to be this cheap for another 6 months is it?

Nope.
Keep adding stuff. It'll be like your wishlist and his wallet are in an old school JRPG battle. Or some crazy ass Pokemon battle.

In other news,
1.) Bastion is $3.74USD for the next nine hours, and if you don't own it, now would be a good time to check it out.
2.) Does anyone else get a flickering screen in-game (not in the menu) when they play Hotline Miami? I want to bash dudes but I can't see anything.
