Quick tip to anyone who buys Fortune Summoners and uses a multi-monitor setup. You have to disable your other monitors or else you will suffer a massive memory leak while playing the game.
Other than that it's a pretty fun game and of course the localization is aces.
Recettear is easy enough I was able to (mostly) blind clear it without ever failing. Seeing as failing basically starts you back as early as possible while still letting you keep massively valuable assets, failing more than once really shouldn't be possible even blind, and spoiled I can't see how you'd fail excluding exceptional luck or not being very good about using the information that's available on the wiki.
I just bought the other two games. A difficulty increase is probably a good thing. I also don't know how well the Dark Souls comparison holds up, since while Dark Souls is a tremendously difficult game at the outset, it's possible to get to the point you don't ever take damage and you have truly massive amounts of regeneration, and that isn't actually something that is true for a majority of games. To some extent in Dark Souls, once you get to the point you can dodge most attacks and only be hit occasionally, you're going to be able to Estus heal up during combat whenever you do take a hit.
If you're willing to spend $30 on the second game, then the first game is worth $5.
Ahh, but the second game is at 50% off which is what makes it at a desirable at £15, and the first is 75% off at £3.50. If there is not any major difference between the games I will just pick up the first one, but if the second one is substantially better I would just go with that.

I need the sale for xcom over at GMG to hurry up and finish already. It's so tempting to just blow the remainder of my paypal funds on it, but I just know I'll kick myself later when it eventually goes under $20 AU

Indeed. Really, it was just a bit of warning. It seems most people go into Fortune Summoners expecting a cute buttonmashy beat'em up, when the game quickly evolves into kind of the opposite of that. Enemies hit surprisingly hard and are more mobile than they look, so pulling too many enemies at the same time can be a serious problem. If you pull them in very small groups and abuse blocking, stepdodging, and quick jabbing like a motherfucker it's easy most of the time, soon as Arche learns a couple special moves.
Incidentally, fuck harpies right in their feathery face :P.
Also, a warning: don't try to play this with the xbox controller. Trying to get precise inputs in that joystick is a mess. I used a Classic Controller Pro's d-pad, or when that was not available, the keyboard.
Thank you poast! I can't put through enough how grateful I am for these, made work so much more fun! Huge, huge thank you to everyone in this list.

Just a heads up: greenmangaming has spec ops the line at 75%. The price isn't showing though, but the 30% voucher is still up so I'd guess that's a pretty big discount.
Also, yaaay the xcom deal is over. I can rest my wallet in peace until something else entices me
The only game I don't have in the Carpe Fulgar franchise is Chantelise, and I've heard it's the least impressive of the three. Seeing how I've not beaten Recettear yet, and haven't even touched Fortunate Summoners, I will not bother picking that one up.
And yes, absolutely everyone should buy Recettear.
Unless you wanna be a communist..and we wouldn't want that, would we?
Would we?
I would, but:
A. My credit card is melting. I plan on getting cheap Gods and Kings through GMG, and I can't see me spending more after that.
B. My backlog is going to take me until the summer sale to clear out as it is. Spec Ops: The Line, X-Com, Sleeping Dogs, Endless Space, Football Manager, Ys Origin, Darksiders II, and a ton of other games have been added to my library.
C. ALL HAIL COMRADE STALIN!
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
Just grabbed the first transformers game... surprised to see a good discount on it. my Steam wallet is almost empty though and I still hope for FO3 and Oddworld Munch and Stranger so now I just have to resist the other stuff. Fortune Summoners is tempting but maybe next sale.
So... Anno 2070. Very pretty! I am enjoying it quite a lot now that I've figured it out. The best comparison I have is to EVE Online where they just throw you into the game with minimal tutorials. Mission 2-1 in particular hits you with some advanced concepts that weren't explained at all! However, once over this curve, I think it's going to be a good one! Lots of game modes that look interesting.
Wait a second, there are people that don't own Recettear yet?

How many people we talking here?
Is it really that good? How are the dungeon crawling bits since it's mostly shop-bound?
The dungeon part is fairly simple, though it feels good to play - intuitive controls, solid hit feedback - and you get a good selection of adventurers over time. It's not quite strong enough to stand on its own, but it works well in balance; a nice break from working the shop, and you'll come back with an armful of goodies to put on sale or synthesize.
Overall, the game is just charming, unique, and fun as hell. I can't guarantee anybody'll be as taken with it as I was, but I do think it's hard to not have fun with it.

The singleplayer campaigns are a fair bit different, with WFC being more straight forward shooter (though still pretty fun) with three characters to choose from per level (and cooperative play available).
FOC does not have coop, and you cannot choose your character. However, levels are more varied and are custom tailored to the characters. They also made the singleplayer have some pretty epic moments and some fun little easter eggs.
Overall FOC has the stronger singleplayer in my opinion. WFC is a blast if you have some friends to go through the campaign with, which is something FOC does not offer. As far as story goes, FOC does directly follow up to WFC's story, though it does a good job of explaining the basic premise.
Aside from singleplayer, I find a lot of people prefer WFC's escalation mode (horde mode) to FOC's. Myself included. And FOC probably has the more active competitive multiplayer community because, well, it's newer.
If someone would like a Legend of Grimrock key (got an extra from my humble bundle), shoot me a PM. I accidentally input it when adding the other games, so there's a slight chance it won't work, but nothing ventured, nothing gained and first come, first served.
Is Dark Souls really as soul crushing as people say?
And also hasn't it been cheaper on Amazon or somewhere in the past?
No, it is fairly easy.
Do you also have a bridge you'd like to sell me?
If you are brain dead then yes, Dark Souls is hard.
All you need to ace Dark Souls is to remember rolling gives an invincibility frame, poison arrows are amazing, and that running blindly into stuff is stupid and you deserve the terrible fate that will occur in the game.
Dark Souls isn't hard, it's just unforgiving. You fuck up, the game will kick you in the nuts and laugh.
However, when you're new to the game, it feels really hard because you still don't know how to effectively dodge around. It's a great game, I managed to plop down 150 hours on it and I still go back every now and then.

Communism, hooooo!
.. Oh, wait...
Would you need to have played War For Cybertron to get the most out of Fall of Cybertron, or can you jump right into the second game?
Do prepare to have you ass beten into the ground, though. Recettear is pretty easy, but the other two games...
Just saying, I've beaten Dark Souls a bunch of times but I'm not able to beat Fortune Summoners :P
