Hitman 2 at least has the excuse of being old. Some elements of the graphics of Hitman 2 (notably animation) are actually superior to Alpha Protocol. It's impossible to get to a point in Hitman 2 where because of choices you made completely in the dark a boss is so hard as to be essentially impossible for anyone who doesn't have too much time on their hands. The plot in Hitman 2 is at least coherently bad as opposed to laughably bad. Hitman 2's godawful tutorial is at least short. It's worth pointing out that my opinion that Hitman 2 was awful was an unpopular one at the time of release and time and distance eventually proved me right. I'm pretty sure time will show Alpha Protocol to be the same. If it wasn't a game by a darling developer like Obsidian it would be rightly derided as a failure on every conceivable level.
Saying "it's quite fun if you pick the right 3 skills out of all the skills available" is the same as saying "this game is bad".

The amount of influence you have on the storyline is unprecedented. You can skip missions by saying the right things to the right people, bosses can decide to side with you instead. There are a ton of important storyline beats you can entire miss. It also isn't bioware dumb in telegraphing what will happen when you say something, but it's pretty fair. Read a persons file and you can press their beliefs to influence them.
The final level isn't great, too shooty and too long.
After you play it, look up on the wiki what you missed. It will be amazing.
The gameplay isn't amazing but the stealth is pretty good. I've had very few truely frustrating moments. The hacking minigames are decent, though one is tuned too hard and the other too easy.
I will concede that the amount of influence you have on the abominable, shitty story is unprecedented. It can unfold in dozens of tedious, trite ways. The fates of the utterly forgettable and obnoxious characters is in your hands!
I feel like less of a man for not playing Dark Souls.
I played the first part of the first level of its predecessor, Demons' Souls, and just wasn't feeling it. Pretty sure I'd feel the same way about Dark Souls.
Don;t get me wrong, I'm glad the games exist and I probably would have loved them a few years ago. Maybe I'll enjoy it in a few years.
Dark Souls grabbed me where Demons' Souls never did. Just my 2 cents.
I always felt like Demon's Souls did a much better job of storytelling than Dark Souls did.

What is the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable? ~ Mario Novak
I never fear death or dyin', I only fear never trying.
I do think that if Alpha Protocol is the worst game you've ever played, you've had a remarkably solid string of luck when it comes to choosing your digital entertainment options.
Alpha Protocol is really good and I think Tube needs to infract himself for disputing that Hitman 2 is the worst game ever made, because that's an infractable offense, right?
Was thinking about picking up FTL while I'm back east for another week so I have something to play on my mom's super slow computer. I figure it can't be that hardware intensive, but nope.. just checked the specks and it won't even be able to run it.
I think I'll just wait until it goes on sale another time when I get back home and just finish up watching Homeland for the week that I am still here.

It must be a very slow machine if it can't run FTL.. I'm running it on a netbook and while it's not perfect, it still works pretty well.

Both BioShock games for the same price as Amazon has been selling both BioShock games and Spec-Ops: The Line.

I'm pretty sure the specs FTL lists on its store page aren't accurate. It takes up 300 MB of space, and runs perfectly fine on my crappy computer. The only thing that ever causes me any slowdown is the nebula backgrounds, for whatever reason.
Edit: Also, the actual store apparently hasn't realized that there are new daily deals yet, so the prices on today's games haven't been properly updated. Just a heads up.
Also, apparently forces far beyond my limited comprehension led @AnteCantelope to gift me a comprehensive edition of Saints Row The 3rd last night. His gift message made me afraid to make further inquiries, so I shall just humbly thank him!

I'm really, really glad I didn't buy my usual $100 of steam credit like I used to do for sales. Haven't been interested in one single fucking daily deal yet.

Just over an hour and a half to go!
Also, just a heads-up, I have to go out for a bit, so I may not be here right at noon to announce the winner. Rest assured, though, that there will be a winner, and he, she, or it will get lots of indie gaming goodness.

My only criteria for the games I selected for this are they have to be games I've played in the past year that I really enjoyed. So here we go!

@Disco11 Thank you so much for the gift of The Binding Of Isaac Collection, @Heatwave thank you for the gift of the Alan Wake Franchise, and @vegeta_666 for Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition and Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (take you time on getting the keys if it's a problem.

Indeed @AnteCantelope is the classiest of melons because I suddenly found myself possessing the THQ bundle.

I am so confused as to what that video in the message had to do with it. I'm trying to find the hidden meaning.
But maybe it's just that Bill Murray is awesome.

1. It's shit
2. The people who say it is good are lying. The things they say are good are not good.
Do I detect another crowdfunded lp in the works?
Thanks!
