Guys. GUYS. I seriously played farming simulator for about 5 1/2 hours. It is so goddamn fun. @Khildith and @Viking and I all farmed up some canola, made about 200k and spent it all on tractors and upgraded farm stuff. SO FUN. OH MY GOD. We NEED like 7 more people for this game.
Farming Simulator 2013 makes no sense, it is like Harvest Moon only without the relationship stuff but with added combine harvesters.
The hours seriously just vanish while playing it and yet it should be the most mundane thing ever.
AND it has 10 player co-op
Farming Simulator 2013 has 10 player coop. I have been livestreaming it for the past two nights. I now have 9 hours of playtime in this game. @Khildith bought the game for me as a joke during the sale, then immediately bought it himself when he watched the livestream of me playing it with @Viking. It is seriously fun and just.. soothing to work the fields. It is a great game. +++recommendation.
CorriganX on
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
Look if we get more people to play regularly I am prepared to take out loans. I will buy more land, and I will supply tractors. Farms will be motherf'in SIMULATED all up in here. We will have people whose sole job will be to transport the crop to the proper markets. There will be silos involved. Mark my words.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
For those wondering about my giveaways of Steamgifts, if you have won you will get your code! Gamersgate still hasn't gotten more Bethesda keys in but once they do I'll send them out!

I seriously watched this for over two hours and while it was incredibly entertaining, I have one question though:
who taught you to drive tractors bruh, Stevie Wonder?
alternately
where did you get your tractor license? Out of a Cracker Jack box?
ok, ok, one more
This is an actual screenshot I took of your screen while you were streaming:
When I had a PC capable of playing it I used to play Farming Simulator 2011 and it was very soothing. Just cruising around, doing my thing, harvesting crops, etc etc. Every so often I'd just wander off and explore and do the bottle collecting thing and it was a blast.

Oh yeah? Well I beat Spec Ops while you guys were farming! I'm fine without growing more soybeans!
I'm fine! Really!
It's all my fault isn't it.
I didn't know...It's all my fault! I should have bought Farming Simulator, there's sand everywhere oh god

I've only just near the end of this sale started to get into the steam gifting spirit, so I only did one this sale. But next sale hopefully I can participate more.
I did spoil myself something rotten, so I have a lot of balancing out to do.

Skyrim DLC
LIMBO
Mount and Blade pack

Civilization V to @Fiskav

I'd join you guys on farming simulator but mans gotta eat. Friday, I will pick it up. Keep harvesting til then. Also, epic gift list will be posted later when I'm on my pc. Prepare yourselves!
I think this year I managed to only buy 3 games for myself, and one game for someone else.
I guess it takes very tight finances to finally teach me to avoid Steam sales.

I dove into my email last night to look up all the gifts I received from people on here, and the total number is 15 since I got my first one in December 2010 (Metro 2033 from @Big Classy). That number does not include any games people may have gifted me via a code, unfortunately, but it feels good to have them in a list like that. Anyway, I think eventually I plan to go through this list in chronological order and give each game the attention it deserves.
Unlike my regular backlog, this is a backlog that I can conquer!

You seem to be developing...a taste for certain games, corrigan.
I laughed way too hard at that Farming Simulator video.
So I got Big Picture mode up and running last night, and while it's sort of a PITA, it's worth it for some big screen Skyrim and newly acquired (but not at $5 alas) Sleeping Dogs action.
Anyone run into an issue where the video of the game hangs off the screen a little big on each edge? I haven't been able to squash that yet.
Like, Far Cry 3, FTL and Mark of the Ninja are well liked generally speaking, but PA seems to love them beyond the Internet average. Except Farming Simulator 2013 isn't a generally well liked thing, but it's going to end up in Steam thread titles anyway because people here play it. I'm going to open up Games and Technology one of these days to see a thread saying "STEAM | FARMING SIMULATOR 2013 NOW 50% OFF | GET YER PLOW ON", aren't I?
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
It surprises me the farming game hasn't hit a 75 percent off sale. I could see it doing pretty well with a more significant discount.
They're waiting for government subsidies to kick in.

Whew. Added all my missing Steam games, as well as games on Origin and Desure, to my Backloggery. I even added duplicates between the three services, but nulled them out except in Steam. I entered a total of 124 games and nulled out 69 of them. Lots of duplicates between Steam and Desura (thanks Indie Royale Bundle!).
My total collection % completion dropped from around 32.7% to 30.8%, a new low.
I think so. I don't think we've ever had a spring sale.
True, but I don't believe there's usually an autumn sale, and yet we got one last year (though nowhere near the splendor of the summer and winter sales).
Autumn sales are definitely a regular thing. We've had them at least the last 2 years. Halloween sales are also regular. Neither is as big as summer or winter, but they're both counted on to happen in their respective months.
So pardon my newbishness, but what is this "Backloggery" and why does the sound of it strike fear into my heart and fill my soul with an overwhelming sense of doom?
