Guys. GUYS. I seriously played farming simulator for about 5 1/2 hours. It is so goddamn fun. @Khildith and @Viking and I all farmed up some canola, made about 200k and spent it all on tractors and upgraded farm stuff. SO FUN. OH MY GOD. We NEED like 7 more people for this game.
Oh yeah? Well I beat Spec Ops while you guys were farming! I'm fine without growing more soybeans!
    I'm fine! Really!
It's all my fault isn't it.

Backloggery is a site where you can create an account and input all your games. Then you can track which ones you are currently playing and what your completion status is on each one: unfinished, beat or completed (100%). It shows all kinds of stats like your percentage of finished vs. unfinished games.

    New giveaway for the week!

After such a strenuous Winter Sale, I'm sure many of you are looking at your gamebank and thinking "Did I miss anything?"

Well, this giveaway is for those of you who did, and are, missing the letter Q.

    signature.png

A great puzzle game that will fill that gaping emptiness in your Steam Alphabet that could only be filled by this game, Q.U.B.E. and Quake, I think.

There might be others, but this one has the most fun title to say out loud, I think.

Seems like I've had a backloggery since 2008, but never actually put anything on there.

But then also could be playing some games instead.

Someone linked to a program that would do it for you a while ago. Considering the hundreds of games added to my Backloggery, it worked okay.

Backloggery: what's the difference between beaten and completed?

I found it in the FAQ, but "completed" is basically a higher degree of completion over "beaten."
Beaten - The main portion or objective of the game has been completed. Usually marked by the defeat of a final boss and/or viewing of the credits.

Completed - Must meet the following requirements (where applicable):
Overall game completion percentage is maxed out All extras are acquired Every game mode is finished Beaten on the hardest difficulty level Optional levels/dungeons and bosses are beaten Best ending viewed All major item-based upgrades are collected Minor items and lists not included in the above are irrelevant The highest rankings (i.e. S-Ranking a level) aren't needed unless necessary for one of the above requirements.

I laughed way too hard at that Farming Simulator video.

So I got Big Picture mode up and running last night, and while it's sort of a PITA, it's worth it for some big screen Skyrim and newly acquired (but not at $5 alas) Sleeping Dogs action.
Anyone run into an issue where the video of the game hangs off the screen a little big on each edge? I haven't been able to squash that yet.

Check your settings on your tv, and look for something called "overscan" or something similar. Turn that off. That will fit the picture exactly to your screen, instead of blowing it up ever so slightly.

It's whatever you, the user want it to mean, really. That said the site 'values' completed over beaten. I use it for game I beat, enjoyed, and don't feel like I can get any more out of it, even if it's not necessarily 100% complete.

So I introduced someone from another online forum I frequent to the joy of a Steam sale, and now they're in full on "BUY ALL THE GAMES!" insane discount freakout mode. I feel like I've introduced a fat kid to an all-you-can-eat candy buffet.

Speaking of which, my end-of-sale recap.

    Gifted to me:
Binding of Isaac from @Descendant X
Viking: Battle for Asgard from @Iolo
    Tiny & Big from @Hyperion
Zombie Driver HD from @Custom Special
Thirty Flights Of Loving from @Lindsay Lohan
    Assassin's Creed: Revelations from @Jungleskye
    Bad Rats from @Toxic Pickle

    Gifted by me:
    Prince Of Persia '08
    Assassin's Creed II
    The Walking Dead
And a whole bunch of copies of Spec-Ops and the "Desert to Sea" Amazon bundle, which hopefully squares my classiness deficit.

Bought by me, for me, including other sundry holiday sales:
    Alpha Protocol
    Assassin's Creed 3
    Far Cry 3
    Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams
    Kingdoms of Amalur bundle
    Scribblenauts Unlimited
    The Secret World
    Serious Sam: BFE
    Sid Meier's Pirates

TL;DR: I have no impulse control and people should seriously stop sending me gifts.
