Liquid GhostDO YOU HEAR THE VOICES, TOO?!Registered Userregular
i am downloading this again
my pc is like over a decade old and can't even run infinite crisis or whatever on a resolution less than 800x600 with everything turned off but i remember getting into this well enough and it looked okay so that's good
going to probably roll a new character and start from scratch just because
I'm sure it was partly due to my being sleepy, but phase 2 I kept dying pretty quickly. Was there an actual order we needed to drop them in? I think that would help, IMO we were dividing our attacks instead of focusing them.
There is a definite order to kill them in. It's been so long I don't remember, but I know @Cheston ran me through it ages ago.
As far as subscriptions go- I like the game enough that I became a lifer.
Same. Judge whether or not subscribing's worth it based on the first month- if you want a lot of stuff other than the Mission packs, go for it. Otherwise, the mission packs are (at best) going to be every two months.
On Facility 5, you ideally kill the Capsule Breaker first because he has no aggro table and attacks randomly. Depending on how well you can healtank the fight (or if you're just regular tanking it and brought a leecher, which is actually a good strategy), it's actually better to kill the Chaos one before the Elementalist. The tank can stay away from the group until the elementalist places a manifestation, while the chaos one can really mess up moving between the pillars for the rest of the group.
Spoit, I also got a purple Laceration. :hifivepurpleclublifestyle:

Hopping back into this as well thanks to the summer sale. Enjoyed it during the beta, but I'm hoping the early going is a little less grindy now.
Maki and I tried running Facility last night, but we couldn't get beyond phase 2 of the filthy scientists. On the bright side, I seem to be able to heal-tank the dungeon, so I should have little trouble getting in to Facility groups going forward!
Have you made it to the last fight yet? Because I don't know exactly what the tank does there but it's weird, you sort of run in circles the whole fight while a one-hit kill orb chases you, and everyone else ignores you. It's weird.
In other news, this now has cards on steam so looks like I'm getting myself a steam copy. This also means I can get 3 more freeborn characters, woo!
No, haven't actually made it past 5/6, but the description I read for it didn't sound too bad, seemed like it would be less an issue of gearing and more execution. Weird, but not awful.
yes, there is pvp if you're into that, but i wouldn't call that 'end game'.
for that, there are nightmare dungeons. mostly 5-man content, as well as the new york raid, which is 10 man, not sure if there are other raids.
edit: to clarify, as you play, the first 5 zones each have a 'normal' difficulty dungeon. after that, there are elite difficulty, which have harder versions of the first 5, as well as... 3 more i think. once you've cleared them all on elite, and defeated the gatekeeper, you can go into nightmare difficulty dungeons.

You still lag a lot? If your heal kiting, you might have some issues with 6/6 since it takes a lot of timing to avoid the filth pools.
I haven't played in months, wish I could get back sometime, but I just don't even have the time with my new job.
to put it in WoW terms:
Elites are modern heroic dungeons, you'll run them once or twice to unlock and get entry gear for..
Nightmares, which are even harder than cataclysm-era heroic dungeons. They're the meat of the TSW endgame. You'll grind the first 3 for a while to get enough gear for the other 6. Then grind all of them to gear for the raid.
Currently there's one 10-man raid and another that's coming a couple patches down the line (probably early next year.)
If it's so easy, why are people asking for kill experience for groups? :P

So I am playing a hammerdude Templar. Is there any general build scheme I can try in TSW that works out similar to Guardian in GW2? I remember trying Fists / Blood for healing / DoTs in the beta, and that seemed sort of similar to that, but I am in a hammering mood.

Mainly because the fight is so goddamn long that if one person fucks it up, it wastes 10 minutes, and there's inevitably at least 1-2 fuckups per attempt, the more inexperience there is in the group, it can easily spiral to 1 hour+.

No, about a week after the first time you brought up lagging possibly being a problem I finally got around to wiring up the house. It hasn't really been a problem since then.
I always did kind of wonder what happened to you. Hopefully you can find time eventually!

if you're looking for an AH like effect, fist generally has you covered, I can detail it a bit more tomorrow when I'm at a computer, if no one else has. Also, do you want active or passive healing?

I would like to hit guys while liberally distributing either buffs - which I like that pretty much everyone seems to have some access to - or healing. Either active or passive is ok, whichever's convenient. Mostly I'm just curious about cool party-wide effects in Hammer and what the set synergizes with.

I... I could be wrong but I don't think there are any party-wide buffs in hammer. It has abilities that up your block and crit, but those are for you only.
If you're going into fists, you'll have access to both active and passive healing- but to really make passive healing shine you'll need to dip into other weapons, depending on the rest of your deck/build.
Men can now purchase a chest item in the store- "Bare Chest."
The cocktail dresses are also up for the women. Two versions. Check them out here.
And a small flying filth creature has been spotted scouting around Agartha. Apparently it makes a few passes before disappearing into the portal to Tokyo.

Yeah, fists / AR was working that way. I'm having video driver troubles or something anyhow. I forget how I solved them enough to run stably during the beta; I think DX9-mode was a factor. Subsequent graphics improvements may mean that TSW is now eating my GT 240 alive. It's probably about time I got a new graphics card anyway, if so.
It's been like 20 minutes and Mad wants to go, so I'll run Mad through and then join you after you show up.
Really sorry- apparently my intermittent lag issues were symptoms of something bigger. My Internet service went down completely. I tried to get online just long enough to tell you guys to go on without me but couldn't.
I bought this and am having crippling indecision when it comes to figuring out a character name.
I think I spent 20 minutes staring and working at that screen, myself.
If it helps, the first and last names don't have to be unique. Just the nickname. In-game, player names are displayed as First "Nick" Last, so for example my character's name shows as Daisuke "Makidai" Maki.
Dulfy.net has a section on how to beat the Gatekeeper as an AR/blood healer. You might want to check it out.
So I just started this game with a Dragon character named Joylene "StrikerEureka" Weller (and man am I surprised that Striker Eureka wasn't taken. I guess GipsyDanger was though so you can't win 'em all.)
Annnd then the game crashed as soon as I got to an area where I could actually move around. Is this a Known Thing? My computer runs Guild Wars 2 just fine (albeit at about middling graphics quality; I CAN crank it up to high but the machine kind of hates that).

We need to focus the Elementalist first, his lightning manifestation hurts a lot. I'd go for chaos second since black hole can really ruin your day.

You may want to check your settings and see what level you're at. Maybe put them down a level and see if that does anything.
