I took the paladin out (hurricane 4 with cryo ammo) for a spin last night. After playing the ghost, typhoon devastator, geth soldier with harrier, Batarian slasher with a harrier and warp ammo, and Batarian vanguard with a raider, the damage output of a power spam build seems so lackluster.
Maybe I just suck at a power damage class?
The Paladin isn't a power damage class. It's a utility/defense/area debuff/explosion primer class. You just have to treat it like that.
I played mine with Blackbird earlier today, and even though I had some lag I put out a pretty decent score. The class works best when you have someone there to detonate your Snap Freeze explosions (Overload and Electric Slash work wonderfully). You can also strip armored units' defenses twice with Snap Freeze and a hit from Cryo Shield melee, which makes bosses go down almost before you can blink. For shielded units like Phantoms and Hunters, first hit them with your weapon and Energy Drain; and once their shields are down, a light melee will send them flying.
I find the best setup for the Paladin is Omni-Capacitors, a light shotgun (my favorite is the Wraith), and Incendiary/Disruptor ammo. Best played if your team includes a Turian Ghost, Geth Engineer, or N7 Shadow. Your mileage may vary.
Fake Edit: okay, so I have no idea how to tag Blackbird in a post, god damnit.
I know I'm late to the party, but the Vancouver map is terrible.
no, it is terrific!
vancouver is basically glacier except bigger and with holiday trinkets
actually theres a box of chocolates in the offices in vancouver, no? are the objectives appearing as those like they did for halloween/xmas or is that not happening? i havenae had a chance to get on mp this week to find out for myself
Had some great rounds with Ardol, Mazzyx and Elf last night. I think I've found my ideal kit in the vorcha sentinel, though that might be in part because I had Flamer at 4 rather than 6 on my soldier, and Carnage maxed.
Data for a major new multiplayer gameplay mode was uncovered, to be fully implemented in a forthcoming DLC. The mode will use save data from choices made throughout your single-player campaign, including paragon/renegade values, reputation points and overall progress.
The information comes from Clevernoob forum user TSA_383, a reliable source of leaks in the past. It also tallies with a product description for a new multiplayer pack - named Reckoning - recently posted on Reddit, where Xbox Marketplace blurbs have popped up in the past.
"The day of reckoning is nigh!" the description read. "The Reckoning Multiplayer Expansion brings six new never before seen co-op story missions to the game and new co-op gameplay modes. It provides four new maps to conquer and hazard variations of the Earth maps.
"It also enables reinforcement packs that offer new kits for the salarians, krogans, humans and volus. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons (Chakram Launcher, Blood Pack Punisher and Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle)."
The above weapons are recent additions to the single-player campaign which have been expected to make the jump to multiplayer (and, accordingly, TSA_383 found them during his/her explorations of today's patch). BioWare has also previously spoken of its desire to update maps from previous multiplayer expansion Earth as Hazard versions (so named for their harder nature and environmental hazards, albeit with higher rewards).
i like the sound of those story missions, i get the impression it's major events from single player from the eyes of ground forces using your shep data/host data to determine shit...
i hope the new maps are citadel, omega and collector base. and maybe (me3 end spoilers)
end game citadel with reapers flying around
apparently, official announcement could be next week.
What'd be neat is a full re-creation of the end sequences from ME1 and 2 in co-op.
Like seriously, fucking Collector base with your co-op Quarian desperately doing puzzles to keep the heat down while you push forwards to the opening valve. Give me that shit.

You want your co-op quarian to play Frogger while you get to unleash the fury?

You humans are all racist.
Team: "Who do we send into the pipes? We need a tech expert!"
Drell Vanguard raises his hand: "You all know it has to be me."
Had a fun couple matches last night! I could not see a damned thing on my Geth Engineer with vision up during the dust storm, but I tried my bestest.
Collectors are awesome to fight, and I got the Vorcha Sentinel after the Vancouver round. The flamethrower sounds neat.
The GPS does not benefit from headshots. This means you need to just about see where the enemy MIGHT be. Worth knowing when hunter vision gets a bit much that shotty spam will still do the trick.
Speaking of new game modes, lately I've been thinking of things I'd like to see in the next game. Mainly minor things, but stuff that's probably too big a change to have a real shot at being included in a patch.
Finally getting rid of the Do Everything Button.
Being able to equip multiple weapons of the same class. Not referring to dual-wielding. But if you want to equip two pistols, or two assault rifles, go ahead, even if they're the same weapon. Let people carry a Typhoon along with a backup Typhoon if they want.
More race-specific weapon/power bonuses. A couple that make sense to me:
Drell having a RoF and Accuracy bonus.
Krogan having stability and ammo capacity bonuses.
Quarians having shield-recharge delay and/or tech recharge bonuses.

this is probably all fake sorry
there was the reddit leak first which sounds cool but has nothing backing it up, its not from either of the folk who have a track record with leaks
TSA posted a load of speculative stuff off the back of the reddit leak but there wisnae actually anything in the patch to back it up according to othet folk who did their own mining, including our very own blackbird and some of the bsn folk who actually know whats up most of the time. only thing that seems to be backed up in the patch files is the new weapon mods (ulm for all weapon types + power boosts)

Well...we're probably going to get an official announcement before the end of this month so it isn't like we have to wait long either way.
Uhm yeah no? The guy wasn't misquoted and I confronted him about it on the BSN and he never replied.
I looked at the files myself and said what I found - lines for a few weapon mods and the BPP challenge. I absolutely don't claim that I didn't make mistakes and I really am no professional on this - but Cyonan, the guy who knows more about the game than the Devs themselves, does a lot of tests on game mechanincs and code digging - confirmed only what I found.
In short: The "leaker" is a silly goose who spreads misinformation - he was never misquoted - and for some reason a lot of people fall for it.
The leaked "description" for Reckoning has yet to be proven wrong or right, it could very well be made up.
It baffles me how mere rumors and even lies are taken as source for information from gaming journalists like that.
Games journalism, being mostly an online enterprise at this point is primarily concerned with pageviews, which makes them even more biased in favor of sensationalist bullshit than their counterparts in traditional media.
So they pick up stuff from dudes like this, and before long some guy has a rep as a 'leaker' based on pretty much nothing other than having a long history of saying stupid shit on forums.
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat

I didn't realize til today you were one of the guys who digged into these things.
The reason I posted that link is it seems the only things people can agree upon being released in the DLC as of now are the new weapons, the mods, and the title. The rest is just speculation. Is that how you see it?

Use quotation marks to tag space-separated names, e.g. tagging "Blackbird SR-71C" = @Blackbird SR-71C.

Soon. Early evening probably.
With a shredder mod, its basically a Widow with four shots and no scope.
I love the Crusader.

Super-fast refire rate and reload too!
Too bad it kicks like a mule.
I find that, since I'm using my Crusader as a sniper rifle, the recoil doesn't bother me at all.
Also dropping shielded Guardians in two shots on every difficulty is worth it.

But that gives you an excuse to use all those Stabilization consumables you've been accumulating.
What? and trade off MOAR damages or shields? no way!
in other news...
recent patch had all this shit:

Though I suppose managing the anti-swarm bubble would be dull unless they re-did that section so it wasn't needed ALL the time.

This is the most Krogan idea I have ever heard.
If ME4 had Shepard, I think that it would be almost necessary to have Shepard soaring through the air in slow mo with a Claymore and a Widow akimbo.
Oh, lordie.
