This is partly why I'm afraid of adventuring above silver that often. I really still haven't found builds I like that much and I don't even have all that kick ass weapons.

I completely underperformed today, because I tried tanking with the Paladin and Justicare the same way I tank with a Krogan. To those, it's a world of pain and death. To a Krogan that's tuesday.

Tonight, I am running into every banshee and brute's hands.

Also, my iPad wants to autocorrect Brute to Bruce.

Have you tried a real tank build on the Justicar? Fighting from cover with a Shield Recharge III and a Fortification Gear V, a fully defensive Justicar can tank as well as or better than a krogan, especially against geth.

Oh yeah no, she's pretty damn sturdy if you play her right, I was just saying that I'm out of practice with a lot of kits. I tried to put up my bubble in the enemies face and use reave for additional DR while tanking the enemy in melee range. Doesn't work for a lot of reasons - takes too long to set up, less shields/health than a Krogan, don't get DR during melee like a Krogan. I should've stuck to the Krogan for now and gotten some practice when it didn't matter.

This is believable to me if only because by the time a Destroyer manages to get anywhere with Devastator Mode on, every single other class would've already nuked the spawn he's lumbering towards and cartwheeled all the way to the next one.

As I said I'm still not used to the class (again) after months of absence. I've gotten good at "playing" boss enemies. I can get a Prime to use his slow-ass melee by getting as close as possible and then dodging backwards without getting hurt, leaves quite a bit of time for free shots. But how do you deal with the following barrage of stunlock? The closest I've gotten to playing a Geth Prime completely safe is with cover nearby so I can retreat when he starts shooting.

OK Primes are a different matter. Given how they've boosted his abilities to stunlock you over time I usually play it safe when facing one in anything besides a Destroyer, Brawler, or Kroguard. With a Justicar I'll typically just let reave do its thing while I play peek-a-boo around a corner.

Using your Heavy Melee as a Krogan (Or Batarian) defensively allows you to stay in the face of some boss enemies for however long you want. Well, almost, unless you're a Vanguard in which case you can literally do that.

Which is also why I'm still sad Praetorians don't have a non-synckill Phase since, of all the boss mobs, they have the quickest sync-kill mechaninc - including the prerequisite melee attack.

    praetorians are ass

i'd like to see this change:

let's make ravagers actually threatening at close-range (reaper buff), and nerf collectors somewhat: make collector swarms have zero health and die instantly to a power, just like the ravager swarmers. leave their cooldown-killing powers alone.

then, give those cooldown-killing powers - on a scale - to the ravager swarmers. something like running over 1 won't make your cooldowns a lot longer, but if you run through a group of 5 it'll add around 2 seconds to your cooldowns.

I played one of these last night. We had 2 escorts. You really need all 4 in the circle to keep the thing moving so it spams its shield regen ability. I was also a vanguard so was just charging all the dragoons that kept ending up next to us.

lol Sorry to disappoint, but Bioware's too busy finding ways of balancing the Geth. Don't worry, they've heard our complaints about stunlock, they're working on it.

At least that's what they said 1 or 2 months ago. But I'm sure it's gonna be a damn good fix. After all, they've been workin on it for almost a year now! Can you imagine?

First time I had this happen, a group in Rio Gold Reaper, but only two of us were actually playing. The other two (one the leader) were just spinning around in circles like they stuck a rubber band to the right stick so it registered movement. After the first two waves of reviving them thinking it was just bad luck, me and the other person realized what was going on, so we just crashed out before we could finish the wave 3 objective and give them any cash moneys.

I'm going red option on multiplayer too, screw it.

Spec him for power damage, max out all three powers, take his passive to 5 and give him 3 in fitness. Grenades totally for damage and capacity. Incinerate is kinda your choice, I give it radius and armor damage and I don't worry about recharge speed. grab your grenade gear and destroy everything.

That or get two giant guns and skip incinerate in favor of full fitness. Slap a melee mod on one of them and go to town smashing and shooting. That's my preferred method, but both are perfectly viable.

I prefer to use my Krogan Soldier for detonations (incendiary grenades + Incinerate = fire explosions), and go 0 points in Incinerate for my Krogan Sentinel. Lift Grenades are pretty boss.

That way, one of 'em is on a "gives no fucks about cooldowns", while the other one can easily detonate explosions, but also has to worry about cooldowns.

But krogan sentinel is pretty hard to go wrong with.

  • Options
    ElendilElendil Registered User regular
yeah i don't see what incinerate is offering on a krosent build

it's sticking him with a cooldown, costing him points in fitness in the passive for a decent but not spectacular power with no real synergy

    i've never specced it

stick the two biggest, fattest guns on him you have, spec power damage on tech armor, and enjoy your super-powerful lift grenades

Dipped my toes the water for one PUG Gold game tonight with my Asari vanguard, and had an awesome time vs Geth. There were some desperate moments, like when all three others were down and swarmed with primes and hunters and bombers, where I dropped a missile and rezzed them all in the brief pause that gave us, constantly on the edge of disaster, but in a fun way, escaping with a full extraction.

And then there was a silver game where I got rezzed and immediately synch killed by a Banshee on wave ten, all of my team mates went down, and none of them bothered to use a medigel and rocket, which is all it would've taken to clear things out.

Also, had a real weird game on Rio with a geth engineer. I'm not sure if I got dropped down to bronze or what, but using the GPS, fully charged shots were dropping Banshees and Brutes in single hits. Never had that happen before.

Yeah, that's a pretty common (relatively speaking) cheat. I remember running into it back in April on a silver, oddly enough.
