[Vanquish] or [Binary Domain], NOT a "Sell Me" Thread

I got both as Christmas stocking stuffer gifts, so I hope they're both great. I remember reading somewhere here on the forums that one was a kind of sorta semi sequel to the other, but I'll be dammed if I can find it again.

Was I just drinking too much eggnog, or does one lead into the other?

    No, they are not connected.

You're confusing your sega/platinum games i think. Anarchy reigns is a semi-sequel to madworld, which features bayonetta.

Vanquish is amazing. Only played the demo of Binary Domain but wasn't very impressed, so guess it may be worth playing Vanquish second so you don't feel let down by Binary Domain? (Vanquish makes every other game look bad in my opinion)

The demo for BD isn't very good, but the game itself is fantastic. What really sets it apart is the story, which is well above contemporaries and genuinely thought provoking without being a straight I, Robot clone.

From the videos and LPs I've seen of it, the story alternates between brilliance and idiocy at a remarkable clip. Really good writing one scene, then the next makes you wonder if the scene was written, per se, or just found scrawled on the back of a receipt at blockbuster.

Also, it really could use renegade interrupts. But that's true of most games.

Vanquish was already on my Christmas list, when I read somewhere (here? Who knows as I still can't find it) that somehow Binary Domain could unofficially be considered within the same continuity as either a prequel or sequel. I said "Cool!" and put it on my list as well, since it was also around $20.

I guess I'll just have to suck it up and enjoy two great under-rated games; probably starting with Binary Domain. Thanks for the help, all. You win this round, Eggnog!
