classic hand held meet up

EDIT ok so my plans are to do this friday night once the hall is closed, up in the hand held lounge time to be determined but i say 1 or 2 hours in the 7 - 9 range

i wanted to do this last year but very few people with the older systems.

so my idea is in the hand held lounge to have a meet up of gameboys , gameboy colors, gba's and if any one actually has one and a link cable they could bring a game gear. i would love to vs via link cable on old games like tetris, wwf superstars 1 and 2, the gb pokemons, some of the mario gba games...the list goes on

Sounds interesting. I have my Game Gear but do not think I ever got a link cable. Think we can score an outlet so I can plug and play for more than 10 minutes?

I have a link cable for old gameboys, and brought it last year, but as you said, not too many people are interested.

I still have my gameboy pocket, looks like I might have to pick up a link cable before PAX.

Oh how I wish I had any of the original Gameboys, or the Game Gear, or an Atari Lynx, or Game.com, or Turbo Express. But alas, I screwed up and sold everything about 8 years ago. I'm slowly getting the old consoles back, but haven't started working on the old hand helds yet. I hope they have some classic handhelds at the classic gaming room.

lol i actually got a game come about a year ago i didn't know it had a link cable

if this really picks up steam and i end up driving into boston instead of taking a train i'll bring my entire arsenal of gameboys as long as some one can take care of batteries. as of now i have 2 dmgs(original gameboy), 2 gbp, 3 gbc, 1 gba, 2 gba sps and 1 gameboy micro

but i only have link cables for original gameboy and the pocket / gbc but i think both of my cables let it so you can use a gbc with a dmg. also remember the gbc has inferred support with some games

I'm thinking of picking up a link cable for my pocket to use with another pocket or color, do you know if I can use the old multitap for the original, or do they need a special cable for just the pocket?

i have a couple gbc link cables and could supply batteries for everyone if neccessary.

the pocket and color are the same cable, i think gba is the same maybe but the big gameboy just has a larger version of the same cable

Guys, we will actually have a bunch of GBAs in Classic Console along with link cables for people. So come by and meet up in CCFP. We'll even have a mini classic handheld lounge set up. We've been doing this every year since 2011

also i am mainly looking for people with the original gameboys (dmgs) then pockets and colors and less of the gbas but they are welcome. then ontop of that i am really looking to find people with game gears that would be awesome

We actually handed over a bunch of our GBA games to CC last year, so y'all should totally hit them up for good times. They have a bunch of other older handhelds too!

You know what? I still have my Gameboy Color and I used to play Tetris DX on the thing ALL the time. I used to wish I knew someone else with that game so I could do multiplayer.

If someone else here does, and are willing to bring it down, I might have cause to dig out my Gameboy Color and that game and bring it. I think we have a link cable, too, but I'll have to root around for it. Our Gameboy stuffs are spread all over the place in the house, these days.

I have a game gear, but never got a link cable. I didn't have that many games for it because all I would play is Sonic. I'd love to attend if this happens!

this will happen. i plan to have this at like 6 , 7 or 8pm and then last like 2 hours, either in the hand held lounge or food court. now i want this done for friday since its the only day i can really go.

if it comes to it i will buy a link cable for my game gear and we can take turns using it, also i may bring need to back light mode my gameboy before i come

so odds are i'll bring either my dmg or gb pocket or color i can't decide yet then one of my gbas

If you're planning to do in in HH, on Friday, I'd go with closer to 8 or 8:30 since we have a tourney at 6:30 and the concerts start around 9 usually.

problem, if we do it at 8pm i cant go since im going to the mega 64 panel i never miss it. and if concerts start at 9 it will be too late since most start waiting alot earlier if im correct

now quick side note does any one have the game gear vs cable + 2 player games if not i wont bother bringing my game gear

also for gameboy (any modle) make sure to bring 2 player games and link cables. i will have tetris(2 copies) wwf super stars 1 and 2, pokemonssssss, 2 versons of pacman the gb version and gbc version it has a 2 player mode, i think i have tennis as well as wave race and im not sure what other 2 player games i have
