Yarrghh, mega charizard x is the first thing to make me doubt my Y purchase. Apparently he's fire/dragon and can do flying battles despite not having levitate and not being a flying type pokemon anymore.
They even gave him his own trailer :P
It seems weird that they're pushing megas so hard and yet 1) it's only old, fan favorite pokemon 1) you can only really use one at a time

I've decided to raise two charizards. One physical and the other special.
I could choose a different gen 1 starter, but there's always the chance that the mega stones we get are based on which startter we chose.
Hey guys remember that time in red and blue where you were against the elite four and all hope seemed lost but then you remembered you had the magic power to make charizard change colour and be amazing? Loved that moment in that game. So glad origins recapped it so elegantly and brilliantly.

Charizard X would be a whole lot cooler without the drooling fire mustache. So far The Y versions of Mega Charizard and Mewtwo are cooler looking than the X versions, to me at least. Looks like I'm swapping over to Y. Even though I'm less of a fan of the legendary birdy.

I think it's awesome. Along with Mewtwo X, if I actually cared about mega evolutions, this would probably be a pretty easy version choice for me.
Do we know what Pokémon are limited to each version?
Also. I've been checking out some of the older pokemon. Some of them def look cool. As in, I would specifically like to get them sooner than later. Do all past monsters exist in the world and are they readily available? I'm not asking about the more powerful ones or fully evolved ones. But I saw a pretty sweet deer/elk and a bear with a circle on his front for examples.

I can guarantee you not all pokemon will be found in Pokemon X and Y (as in caught in the wild). Once people start transferring their pokemon from Black and White however, you should be able to easily start plugging holes up in the pokedex via wi-fi trading.
