[2013 Resolution Thread] Draw Every Day!

Do we have a consensus in this thread if we should be spoilering our images or not?

My real focus this last week was on trying to get my gradients and tones to be more smooth. We saw with last week's portraits that I can do a contour drawing fine, but the sudden breaks of values are jarring and get messy.

Didn't post last week because I only drew one crummy little thing. This week was a bit better, but still missed some days. Dang it.

I wouldn't spoiler your images. They are what the thread is all about!

Does anyone know the code for changing image sizes? I wouldn't spoiler them if I could make them smaller.

Not really sure why, but I hit a major skid these last two weeks. Felt like the only thing coming out of my pencil was crap. Well, gotta soldier on. Perhaps drawing every day is a brute force method of improvement, but drawing n-every day is guaranteed failure.

Another week comes and goes! Into March and still drawing daily. I'd like to think that I'm drawing smart, studying Loomis and D'Amelio, instead of just throwing lines down willy nilly. Still - two months down!

Thanks Man. I wish I had a job that was art related.
They only look good because I'm copying the greats.

I got to a point in the Michael Hampton book that said "Don't draw from this book to learn Anatomy". Then I remembered I once read on the Muddy Colors blog, the best way to learn Anatomy is to learn the origin and insertions of the surface muscles. So I figured I should really try to learn Anatomy the right way, and not half ass it.

I'm going to draw from the Valerie Winslow "Classic Human Anatomy" book. Hopefully some of it will stick.
