People actually sell guilds these days? The fuck? Who buys these things.
Anyone who can make gold faster than they could get a guild to max level.

I think at some point you could make gold by buying a guild and just advertising it as a leveling guild and taking the gold from the guild perks. So people went around the servers buying a guild per faction.
I saw someone selling a level 25 perk guild for 200k on Sen'jin horde the other day. A lot of people were pointing and laughing; but high prices always illicit that.
I have no idea if he sold it or not.
I used to see people sell guilds based on bank tabs in the past; and I suppose if you just want a bank alt guild bank, and you can get it cheaper than you could the tabs themselves...eh?
But with levels now, you could have 6 tabs and it'd be 'worthless' if it wasn't also 25.
And then, guild xp is such that getting to 25 isn't even a big deal. Me and a few RL friends (me and two married couples) got our own personal guild to 25 pretty reasonably easy. It took a few months after the launch of MoP (I had gotten to 6 or 7 on my own in cata, and was pretty happy with that), but wasn't some big ordeal.
I've debated just inviting people who just want perks, putting them in a rank that doesn't have access to anything really but the perks, maybe guild chat if they want to start being a 'community', for cash flow and other guild making perks for me.
But I dunno. Seems like a hassle. I like the peace and quiet.
Oh, and didn't seem like anyone mentioned it; the 'daily' rep from lfd/scenarios are on the PTR
750 for your first LFD, 325 for your first scenario.
They won't let you pick the black prince.
I have no idea if you get the commendation rep from those, but I don't see why not? Since I said that, it means it obviously won't benefit.
Still, that's cool. Yeah, less rep than you could have gotten via a run with a tabard; but understand why they're not going back to that, and this is a fair compromise in my mind.
EDIT: And they reconfirmed the daily 5.1 rep won't have any VP gear (which I still find pretty stupid...), and that the rep with VP gear will be from the raid only. You'll be able to get it in LFR too. Like Ashen Verdict and other raid reps of olde it will only give you rep for trash to a certain point then it's entirely from bosses.
I just hope that it's a reasonable rep gain. And that there's a commendation for it too. We shall see.
Speaking of rep only from raids, I finally reached exalted with the Firelands rep. I also found out that I can solo Alysrazor on heroic because Phase 1 on heroic is like twice the length of Phase 1 on normal so I wish I had been doing that all these weeks instead. On normal I can get her down to below 50% on one Phase 1 run, but on Heroic where she has 3 times the health, I can get her down to 60% (aka more than her entire Normal health) in one Phase 1 run.
1 million gold isn't even a lot; I know lots of players with ~100k gold. I remember some of the flavor content drops from (Heroic?) Arthas sold for at least 100k in-guild.
That reminds me. I was bored and doing some of the bc heroic achievements I didn't have and remembered how much I missed them all, particularly the lv 70 ones. Did they ever shift the levels of them down so that new people can actually experience them as they level? My last alt started north rend dungeons at 68 and it sucked. I wanted some shattered halls, shadow labs, arcatraz before I moved onto wrath stuff
Just did heroic scholo, assassination rogue in my group pulled 125k the whole time, 200k when I popped hero on Voss. She died before the ghost came out, was hoping for an achievement, but no such luck.
Yeah I always kill Voss before the ghost. Sometimes it bugs out though, and doesn't drop combat for a good 3 minutes after the fight has ended. Voss just sits there, floating and untargettable.
I have a bank alt guild that is going to ding lvl 4 soon. Decided to level the priest bank alt to lvl 90 to max out enchanting and get another maxed out char to play with. despite it being only me playing in the guild its pretty easy to level it. I suspect a guild with 3-4 players could ding 25 in a month or two.
Also, I decided to search dread wastes for treasures of Pandaria. You know the ones that spawn lying on the ground and stuff. Lucky for me there was a server reset in the EU and I got most of them this morning. Most treasures in dread wastes are BOA weapons. Got a ilvl 450 Caster Neck and Staff for that bank priest alt.

here's a little secret: that's how you do it on challenge mode
Speaking of heroic Scholo; whats the secret to finding the 'right' barov lady that splits?
Apparently there's something wrong with all the clones - wrong colour hair, or clothes that don't match her outfit. Look for the red-head. Kinda red-head. Made more taxing because she's being Hitmontop.
Her portaits are different for the wrong clones, plus all the clones have slight differences (hairstyle, different clothes, all that jazz). But basically, just nuke everything. Unless you do challenge mode, in which case make damn sure you kill the right one.

It's like one of those "spot the differences" puzzle. I think the right one has black hair, a staff and some other things. There should be a description on Wowhead.
are monks really easy to level because of that exp buff thing, or does it wind up not making that much difference?
I had the Buff every day (twice if I could reach a multiple of 10 in my levels) and three heirlooms. Two of the heirlooms were useless beyond 80 because I hadn't upgraded them. My /played tells me it took 5 days, 2 hours. So uh, yeah, they zoom up pretty quickly with the buff and a supported heirloom setup. Especially if you have enough time to just power through a zone and get a second Enlightenment buff a day because you hit level X0.
I'm still leveling up my monk, but in lvl40 bracket it takes me only 5 quests to level up with that buff and full heirlooms. It's pretty noticeable and the nice thing is that the duration stacks if you don't use it all up in one day.

It's a huge difference. Plus the quest that awards the experience buff is also a daily, so you get the benefits of that, too.
Monday Night LFR is truly a captivating experience. There's nothing quite like it, let me tell you. Here's a little nugget of wisdom from last week's:
The tl;dr of this: Holy Paladin from Ragnaros (latino server) was being a huge jerk in the raid, also bad. I told people to kick him, he starts whispering me and insulting me in broken english. We kick him right before Gara'jal (in yo faceeee) and he makes a character, on my server, just to insult me in more broken english and logs immediately before I can respond.
I will keep this in mind the next time I decide Monday is a good night for LFR.

You kept your cool and just laughed it off, but the best revenge, no top of getting him kicked from the raid, is to get him, if not a temp ban, but a lovely conversation with a GM with a warning.
And yes, Monday nights LFR are just a clusterfuck of incredible bad players mixed with incredibly bad humans.
Every time I get to monday and forgot (or didn't have time) to do some given LFR I wanted on a character, it's a pretty tough internal arguement as to whether or not I want to suffer that misery for a chance at some loot.
Still I find it odd my troll rogue was just handed a 3 slot level 1 guild for free
I know it's easier to grind out a guild to 2 or better for a name change but I would rather pay gold for it than real cash to do so
EEEEEEK Geth awesomed my post as it was posted he has become aware
They really need to do a rudimentary gear check when a person queues for LFR. Maybe some kind of spirit threshold to cross. Nothing too harsh, but something you can meet without buffs by being in the required ilevel gear for that spec.
Oh, and maybe requiring people to be in the spec of their role?
Is it worth it to upgrade items? I've got a handful of slots that, while I wouldn't necessarily call them best in slot, I know full well they're not getting replaced anytime soon, if ever. Mostly stuff who's upgrade is in a heroic raid we're not even doing on normal. Sha touched weapon and the like. It feels like I should, what with the upgrade system going away, so better to get it while the getting's good. But I also feel like that valor could be better spent elsewhere.
Damn theorycrafting hurts my thinking muscle.

The GM of my perks guild sold it, so now I need to find another perks guild.
The good news: This is the most drama I've had to deal with since coming back.
On Windrunner people are selling guilds all the time on the allaince but for a lot of gold
Anyone who can make gold faster than they could get a guild to max level.
people also sometimes sell bank alt guilds or they for whatever reason don't want anymore. I sold mine when I transferred.
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
I have no idea. He was offered 1M gold for it in the past and declined, so who knows how much it went for.
It sort of makes sense if you were starting a raiding guild...Maybe? Good luck finding apps for a raid group in a guild that isn't level 25.
Why in the shit would you pay a million gold for a guild?

Economic stimulus, Kana. Think of how many new crafting jobs will be created by that million gold.

In other news, had to do pvp to get my eye of the black prince. Took two mines runs to get my win, first one was just ugly.
The temple though....we just made a ball of death in the middle with all 4 orbs, while the alliance kept jumping down movie ninja style.
